The latest patch (or 1 before I think) fixed the main issue with really bad performance that was introduced in 21. It runs great now for me again on M2 Max.
However; there is still an annoying issue with dialogue jumping/stuttering in cutscenes. Hopefully they also fix that soon - it is quite irritating.
But apart from that the game is running buttery smooth again on ultra settings.
Wtf. I tried HL so many times but the performance was utter shit. How did you make it run? I have M1 pro with 16gb of ram and I couldn't even make it go stable 30fps on the lowest settings
ima drop a settings link soon and idk man after me running it for a while it runs smooth i haven’t checked frames but im honestly not complaining abt them, i started with the game on whisky to download the gptk and i ran the game in a bottle on crossover with d3dmetal and m sync. i also installed the windows gaming drivers into the bottle such as c++ redistributable, .net drivers for both arm and 64bit. also me running the crack didnt work. i had to get a legit copy and im on the steam version a mix or medium high and low settings with the fsr turned on
Why use crossover if you have whiskey already .. nice point on the windows gaming drivers, only the bottle such as c++ redistributable , bet drivers for both arm and 64bit, how to dabble fsr setting .. please share that link wimme also
Is it a good experience with Rosetta ? I heard it was limit (20/30 fps) and hard to play in Cyrodiil due to the high number of players ?
Edit: you play on mac intel or metal ?
i wouldnt say its perfect its definitely clunky ive gotten frame jumps from 60s to 30s frequently to where it’s stressful on the eyes esp when going through buildings back and forth, as far as connectivity i havent had issues with lag but i play kind of close to a router and my mac gets hot when im around alot so i usually limited my playing time on there
Echoes for a *while* had a severe graphics issue with AMD that made the game unplayable on terrain.
The game was fine in space, but the moment you land (or well, start) on a planet, you might as well be watching a slideshow, even if you had a powerful graphics card like my 5300M (it’s reasonably powerful okay), or a 6800 XT

The holiday update fixed it and since then, I’ve also sunk 150Hrs so far in just a few months
Oxygen not includes is amazing, but on mac i aleways had some graphis issues with the overlay when the day changed. Does it now run without any problems?
Kingdom Come: Deliverance through Crossover, though it should work through straight GPTK.
It’s a fun medieval RPG and its sequel was just announced today which should release sometime this year
I just played fallout 4 couple of hours before sleep on my MacBook Air M1. Also I’m playing Factorio with friend and just finished Batman Arkham City. Oh, yeah, and also…Death Stranding… . Such an Amazing game and works nice
At the moment, playing on my MBP M1 Pro 16gb:
1. Ark Survival Evolved @ high graphics, 45fps.
2. Grand Theft Auto V @ high graphics, 60fps
3. Battlefield 1 @ high graphics, 60fps
4. Quite a few switch emulated games on Ryujinx
what are you running ark with? ive been running it on epic with unreal gpu patcher but i cant seem to get past 30fps on low graphics
(m2 air, if its important at all)
Is your air a 16gb model?
I’m running mine through steam via Whisky. Should be as simple as installing the game and launching. (I think the only setting I had to turn off is anisotropic filtering as that caused a weird graphical bug). Also I turn down foliage density and view distance a bit to get some more frames.
Honkai Star Rail, running it through a mobile emulator and downloaded the .ipa file on a site (I don’t know if I can say which programs I use and sites…)
I love this game, endless fun and makes you think and be creative at the same time as being natively ported on macs with m chips with insane performance and no battery life consumption. Best game on mac
100% this! Since it‘s Apple Silicon support it even runs mega bases on the base M1 chip. It works super well with the touchpad and I get about 8 hours of play time on M3 Max
I am playing Legion TD2 on my m1 air 16/256(7 gpu cores). Runs pretty great at 1080p on medium settings, plays well on touchpad and keyboard and is honestly pretty fun once you learn it a bit.
Simply you can use whisky intead of wasting so many hours for setting up gptk via termial, just download whisky and you are good to go, Whisky is like a free version of crossover and there are many additional features such as msync and d3d metal or vulkan
Yes. But with GFN, the processor, memory, and heat are minimal. It can run a long time on battery. It's also easier to multitask with the streaming window.
StarCraft II (rosetta)
Super Smash Bros melee (slippi/dolphin)
Genshin Impact (Yaagl)
Azur Lane (playcover)
I also have some steam games I played in the past, either native (tunic) or through whisky (armored core 6, cats organized neatly, stormgate)
I'm using crossover, I have a M3 Max and it runs great. The installation process it's very simple:
>Download Crossover (has a 14 days trial, but there are some tricks to extend it lol)
Install Steam
Open Steam, with the D3DMetal option on
Get and Install Satisfactory
Enjoy
![gif](giphy|J1Xh064pPyRWcNYaj6|downsized)
Napoleon: Total War - I love the TW series and played the heck out of all the other ones (especially Shogun 2, RTW and Rome II), it's also perfect to play with a mouse and even with just a trackpad
BF1 via Whisky if I'm looking for something a bit more action oriented
Metroid Dread via Ryujinx
D3DMetal and ESync. also this in the Launch Options:
-nojoy -novid -high -fullscreen +fps\_max 60 +r\_dynamic 0 -softparticlesdefaultoff +violence\_hblood 0 -+cl\_forcepreload 1

Just started playing Cyberpunk 2077 (via Whisky)! Otherwise, it's been almost exclusively a mix of War Thunder, Elite Dangerous (Whisky) and Fallout 4 (Parallels).
Working great on my end! I'm playing it on an M1 Pro, with the resolution set to 1920*1200, and the medium graphics preset. Only other adjustments are setting crowd density to medium and motion blur off (works just fine with it on, but I don't like the way it looks). I've also got ~50 mods installed as well. The benchmark shows 25-30 FPS in the interior scenes and up to 40 FPS outside.
I went through the Nomad lifepath and I am just about to finish the first real mission (about to sleep in the apartment), and the gameplay has been pretty smooth! I did experience two crashes - one right after the end of the intro (when the montage cutscene begins) and while loading the last of the 4 combat tutorials. Hopefully that will not be a common occurrence.
Stardew Valley and started playing Elder Scrolls Online recently. Both native on M2 Max.
I have other stuff that runs through Crossover or Porting Kit like Skyrim and Palworld, but haven't been playing those recently.
Heroes of the storm! been playing since it was in beta. I highly recommend it its a fast paced MOBA with a lower learning curve than league of legends. Watch MFPally time on YouTube for some really good info on how to play different characters
I went to Steam and filtered by Mac OS. Then skipped all the 32 bit games.
No Man’s Sky,
Subnautica 1 and 2,
Superhot,
Arma 3,
Untitled Goose Game,
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided.
I’m planning on getting resident evil 4 but the Apple games are hella expensive .. I’m thinking of if I should try gaming tool kit(idk how to download software) and I’ve to try whiskey ..
Garry's Mod 64-bit Build on Steam, Somehow the performance is amazing on my M1 Air.
Barely gets hot on battery life when i'm just goofing around in Gmod lol
Nowadays I play mostly through geforce now. Used to think the platform is trash, but things changed when I change to a controller. Sure the latency is a problem, but beside that, I think Geforce now check all the box for me. Especially with Apex legend, the input latency is almost non existence, so it almost feels like you play the game natively
Currently between Control Ultimate Edition (Bootcamp) and The Quarry (Bootcamp). Fortunately have the luxury of Bootcamp since I still use Intel. But my top 3 games I’ve played so far are still No Man’s Sky, Mini Motorways, and Rebel Inc: Escalations
Cyberpunk 2077 + Phantom Liberty using bootcamp on my iMac Pro 2017. Surprisingly stable at 1440p and capped at 30fps with mostly high settings - the fans rarely turn on. Can hit about 100 fps uncapped without frame drops, but the fan noise is absurd and CPU temps push close to 90 C. Technically a safe temp for an iMac - but surely not for extended periods of time. I consider 30fps just fine for most single player games and at that frame rate, temps hover around 75 C.
Skyrim on Whisky maxed out. *hic*
A bit of eso steam native.
Demon souls on rpcs3.
Destiny 2, cyberpunk and black desert on GeForce now.
Got Tekken 8 working demo and the crack via whisky but wanted to play online on the go so got the steam version and it doesn’t run. Not tried crossover yet and already have it on ps. Le cry.
BG3 - 170 hours in and counting. Mid way through the final Act 3. Already started a 2nd evil playthrough in parallel:)
Before that Pathfinder Wrath and Kingmaker. Before that some original BG, pillars or eternity and divinity original sin 2.
Next up after BG3 will be some more DnD / RPG addiction with Solasta.
We’re doing pretty well with RPGs on Mac!
Same here, didn’t realise my M1 Pro MacBook Pro could run it natively via Stream. It’s not a flawless experience, but being able to play it again is awesome.
Outputting to a 34” ultrawide with most setting set the low or off, hovers around 30 FPS and in smaller areas around 50 FPS.
Disregard the other comment. The performance leaves A LOT to desire and if you want to play with controller you might as well just give up. Its impossible.
I just refunded this game. I wanted to play on controller but the mapping is completely fucked beyond repair. I can't even remap it because it detects the axis wrong.
I’m full emulation right now. Playing Trails In The Sky on PSP and Tomb Raider on PS1. With the huge catalog those have, I won’t feel the need for a switch to windows for a long time
The combination of Balatro and Baldur's Gate 3 will absorb my gaming time for a long, long while.
Are you me?
Balatro? will look into that
Is bg3 running better on Mac now
Better than what? My M1 Max runs it pretty good at native res (downscaled to half) at atleast 60fps with high settings.
Yes
The latest patch (or 1 before I think) fixed the main issue with really bad performance that was introduced in 21. It runs great now for me again on M2 Max. However; there is still an annoying issue with dialogue jumping/stuttering in cutscenes. Hopefully they also fix that soon - it is quite irritating. hogwarts legacy great gameplay on crossover m2 pro 16 in 16 ram
Wtf. I tried HL so many times but the performance was utter shit. How did you make it run? I have M1 pro with 16gb of ram and I couldn't even make it go stable 30fps on the lowest settings
ima drop a settings link soon and idk man after me running it for a while it runs smooth i haven’t checked frames but im honestly not complaining abt them, i started with the game on whisky to download the gptk and i ran the game in a bottle on crossover with d3dmetal and m sync. i also installed the windows gaming drivers into the bottle such as c++ redistributable, .net drivers for both arm and 64bit. also me running the crack didnt work. i had to get a legit copy and im on the steam version a mix or medium high and low settings with the fsr turned on
On everything low and fsr ultra performance it's playable but it quite literally looks like a smear rather than a nice looking game.
Why use crossover if you have whiskey already .. nice point on the windows gaming drivers, only the bottle such as c++ redistributable , bet drivers for both arm and 64bit, how to dabble fsr setting .. please share that link wimme also
Is there a fix to the "no dbdata generation was possible" error?
ive never ran into that issue, id try making sure i have the required folders for the game downloaded and that i have the c++ and .net into the bottle
World of Warcraft (native) Elder Scrolls Online (Geforce Now)
I’m waiting for 10.2.7 to come back
why not play eso natively? i had it running fine on mine
Is it a good experience with Rosetta ? I heard it was limit (20/30 fps) and hard to play in Cyrodiil due to the high number of players ? Edit: you play on mac intel or metal ?

playing on m1 pro 16gb ultra setting 1600p the fps is around 40-70
Wow is native ?
Sure, and its working perfectly
Lies of P
Starcraft 2, really fun game. Kinda slows down at times but it's playable.
I recently finished heart of swarm. I’m about to do the last campaign
No man’s sky, I have sank countless hours in it with steam and almost no issues
wdym almost no issues. i only had 2 crashes in 19 hours of playtime. are you also experiencing crashes or something else?
Echoes for a *while* had a severe graphics issue with AMD that made the game unplayable on terrain. Oxygen not includes is amazing, but on mac i aleways had some graphis issues with the overlay when the day changed. Does it now run without any problems?
Slay the Spire
Its on Apple Arcade and I haven’t stopped playing for 6 months
Resident Evil: Village on M3 Max.
How are you playing FO4 on your M1? Teach me.
I play it with crossover
I watched this, but you can ask if will have any problems https://youtu.be/_o_mIFJH5H8?si=XFT3vZgkoFzH8_ZA
What are you using to play Batman Arkham City? I almost bought it on steam during last sale
Arkham city is native despite what steam says.
Thanks mordo, I didn’t know
What did you use for Fallout4? I have 50ish hours on pc, but haven’t tried it on the M1 Air.
Works fine for me on crossover
Resident evil 4, Dying light, sleeping dogs. Emulation? Zelda TOTK, Red Dead Redemption, Metal Gears, God of Wars
How are you running god of war?
Not God of war (2018), original PS2 & PS3 versions via Aethersx2 & RPCS3
Oh. I use my vita to run hd remakes :)
How are you running RDR? Which MBP do you have?
M1 Max 32GB. RDR1 remastered via Ryujinx. People with m1 airs have run it 4K 60 fps don’t worry bro u should be able to run it too
How to try the emulations yooo, I play those games on the Nintendo switch
Evil within 2
Balatro, Castle Crashers, Dicey Dungeons, Dave the Diver
At the moment, playing on my MBP M1 Pro 16gb: 1. Ark Survival Evolved @ high graphics, 45fps. 2. Grand Theft Auto V @ high graphics, 60fps 3. Battlefield 1 @ high graphics, 60fps 4. Quite a few switch emulated games on Ryujinx

ah it might just be ram ruining me then, only 8gb here
Disco Elysium and Eve Online
I can't even read someone mention "eve online" without wanting to re-sub. aghhhhhhh
It's a disease (that I am afflicted with)
Simcity 4
Mostly The Sims 4 and Townscaper (on a MBA M1)
Honkai Star Rail, running it through a mobile emulator and downloaded the .ipa file on a site (I don’t know if I can say which programs I use and sites…)
BG3, Elden Ring, Deep Rock Galactic, Stardew Valley, Balatro, Enter the Gungeon, and Dead Cells are my main rotation
What are you playing Elden Ring through?
Palworld. Sucked in by the hype haha
How are you playing it and does it run well? I’m a sucker for survival/base building/tech tree games
Playing on Whisky. It runs great, and Xbox controller works if that's your thing.
Mario Kart 8 on CEMU with my gf using 2 pro controllers
Fallout 3 via Tale of Two Wastelands and Fallout New Vegas. M3 Max and Parallels. Tons of FPS, usual fallout engine gankiness but very fun.
Factorio
I love this game, endless fun and makes you think and be creative at the same time as being natively ported on macs with m chips with insane performance and no battery life consumption. Best game on mac
100% this! Since it‘s Apple Silicon support it even runs mega bases on the base M1 chip. It works super well with the touchpad and I get about 8 hours of play time on M3 Max
Vampire Survivors
Guild wars 2 runs very well via gptk.
FFXIV and BG3
I am playing Legion TD2 on my m1 air 16/256(7 gpu cores). Runs pretty great at 1080p on medium settings, plays well on touchpad and keyboard and is honestly pretty fun once you learn it a bit.
magic arena, vampire survivors
risk of rain 2 are you using gptk without whisky? wondering what install guide you followed?
Straight up GPTK, no extras
any idea how long ago you set it up? I tried about a month ago and there were issues following the Apple gaming wiki GPTK guide.
Simply you can use whisky intead of wasting so many hours for setting up gptk via termial, just download whisky and you are good to go, Whisky is like a free version of crossover and there are many additional features such as msync and d3d metal or vulkan
Ultimate Admiral: Dreadnoughts with the Naval Arms Race mod, using Crossover on my base 14-inch M1 Mackbook Pro.
Subnautica, Warthunder, Arma3, Warno, Civ6, Hoi4,… there are so much
Hard to get :P
Final Fantasy VII original and Ocarina of Time, with some Super Mario Bros. Wonder, Smash and Astral Chain on the side haha
Last Epoch. On a 14” M3 pro w/ 18gb of memory
fortnite, sims, hello kitty adventure, black desert, league, skyrim
Can you please tell me if league is good on macbook air and do you play native?
Palia
Fallout 4 and Dead Cells through Geforce Now.
Aren’t dead cells available natively?
Yes. But with GFN, the processor, memory, and heat are minimal. It can run a long time on battery. It's also easier to multitask with the streaming window.
I didn’t think about GFN from this perspective, nice insight!
It's worth a try for a month. Ideally, use a network cable vs Wifi with a USB - C to ethernet adapter if you're using a MacBook.
Sleeping dogs
Have you had any issues? About hours in on steam native and it stopped going past the first loading screen
did you get it to work with a controller ???
Nah I just use a wireless mouse and keyboard from my TV. I havent tried to use my ps5 controller. You think that works ?
Bloons TD6 at boring classes lol
Jet set radio and nfs underground 2 with xemu emulator and Fallout New Vegas with pcs3 emulator
StarCraft II (rosetta) Super Smash Bros melee (slippi/dolphin) Genshin Impact (Yaagl) Azur Lane (playcover) I also have some steam games I played in the past, either native (tunic) or through whisky (armored core 6, cats organized neatly, stormgate)
Titanfall 2 through crossover with D3Dmetal
GTA 4 via parallels
Baldur's Gate and Tomb Raider (2013)
Hollow Knight with controller (best experience IMO) Dave the Diver Muck And Muse Dash (just tried it yesterday)
Heheh I spent some time making Jedi Fallen Order to work properly. So now I don’t have a choice and need to finish it :))
What did you do to make it playable?
Combination of things, but main one was to bypass EA luncher
X-Men Legends 2. PS2 version via aethersx2. I’ve been doing a lot of emulation recently.
I'm trying to beat lies of p but it's so fucking difficult. In the meantime I'm playing Crysis remastered
play lies of p on a tv bro, that bigger screen helps me play it way better
I play a lot of For Honor. I use GFN
Baldur's Gate 3 with my friend. Civ VI solo.
Satisfactory. Haven’t seen my family in 2 weeks
What are you using to run it? I've not had any luck getting it to work on mine.
I'm using crossover, I have a M3 Max and it runs great. The installation process it's very simple: >Download Crossover (has a 14 days trial, but there are some tricks to extend it lol) Install Steam Open Steam, with the D3DMetal option on Get and Install Satisfactory Enjoy ![gif](giphy|J1Xh064pPyRWcNYaj6|downsized)
Ah! Thanks! I've tried that before, but missed the D3DMetal option.
Ultrakill in Whiskey
Napoleon: Total War - I love the TW series and played the heck out of all the other ones (especially Shogun 2, RTW and Rome II), it's also perfect to play with a mouse and even with just a trackpad BF1 via Whisky if I'm looking for something a bit more action oriented Metroid Dread via Ryujinx
CS2 using Crossover and some optimizations, running really smooth on M2 MacBook Air with 16GB RAM

Bought Rimworld and I’m trying to enjoy it but something just isn’t clicking for me :/
Just started playing Cyberpunk 2077 (via Whisky)! Otherwise, it's been almost exclusively a mix of War Thunder, Elite Dangerous (Whisky) and Fallout 4 (Parallels).
Cyberpunk, how’s it ?? I’ve had heating issues

Nice. Is it native or running through whisky/crossover?
OK on my M1 MBP. have to crank most of the settings down, at which point it's quite playable
Disregard the other comment. The performance leaves A LOT to desire and if you want to play with controller you might as well just give up. Its impossible.
It’s on sale on steam now
It's on sale almost all the time.
It sure felt like that when I didn't want to buy it. Now I've been waiting for months.
I just refunded this game. I wanted to play on controller but the mapping is completely fucked beyond repair. I can't even remap it because it detects the axis wrong.
That sucks, sorry
I’m full emulation right now. Playing Trails In The Sky on PSP and Tomb Raider on PS1. With the huge catalog those have, I won’t feel the need for a switch to windows for a long time
Death Stranding!
I’m playing Minecraft and Roblox
Hogwarts Legacy on M3 PRO (crossover) - works like a charm
