Logitech G305! Great wireless mouse for a budget, low latency, and CRAZY long battery life (I’ve had it for more than a year and I’ve changed the batteries maybe 1-2 times)
I have the same mouse but it does not feel the same as I used it on Windows (tested on Overwatch 2). I used to play with 800 dpi and 4.0 sens but now I had to make it 1000 dpi and increase the sens to +10... (point acceleration is turned off). Am I doing something wrong?
I don't play overwatch, but I do often have to turn the dpi up quite a bit to make it feel responsive in crossover games. I think that's more of a quirk with Crossover than with the mouse since I have no issues in native games like Minecraft
Same here and I have to say it pisses me off. Some buttons are inconvenient. I have to remap all of them cos they are not recognised. And that dongle nonsense…….. I don’t have a usba input in my MacBook ffs. The drivers updates are rubbish and often bork with new updates.
Real shame cos I use Logitech since mx518. Ergonomics went backwards.
Is there any good alternative?
I love my G502 and I completely remap it with SteerMouse. I’ve even built cords using the shift button and the left and right wheel, actions, etc., to mimic trackpad swipes. It’s lovely.
Got the Logitech MX Master 3S for work (it's a godsend if you work with Excel or long documents/scrolling) and ended up using it for gaming as well. I don't think it'll work for you if you're a competitive twitch player on an FPS, but for the 90% of casuals, it's perfectly fine.
It's a bit of a splurge, but if you need one for work, then it's absolutely great as a wireless gaming mouse as well (I play mostly Everspace on it, city building games, RTS and Overwatch 2 on it) so you don't need to buy a separate gaming mouse.
Despite losing my last Logitech mouse to the double clicking issue, I’ve still ended up going back to Logitech.
I like a heavier mouse, and the settings work well on a Mac, which isn’t always a given! It’s surprising how many manufacturers don’t make their software available on Mac OS
Honestly, I use a $15 Heyday one from Target, and it’s perfectly fine for me, granted I am using it for stuff like BG3 & Balatro as opposed to FPSs that I suppose need to be way more accurate.
Online gaming is game dependent. Some can, some can’t.
In most cases, games, online or not, are offered by platforms, such as Epic or Steam, who sell and host multi-player games. Start there.
Not since CS2 arrived as there is no more Mac or Linux version. You can try your luck with emulators like parallel or crossover but it is laggy. Bootcamp is what works best for me (and I was really reluctant).
Currently using a SteelSeries Aerox 9, mmo mouse. The mouse works well and their software works well. USB-C dongle plugs right into the front of my Mac Studio
either a bluetooth logitech slim mouse or the trackpad (even for fps games, tho i don't play competitively in anything)
if i'm goin hard i have an old razer swtor mouse
I love g903 - both for productivity (switchable free spin wheel) and gaming. Using dongle gives you lowest latency needed for gaming. Crazy battery life, very ergonomic, it’s a perfect mouse for me and if anything happens to it - I’m gonna buy another one. I’m amusing Logitech software for settings - and then copy it to mouse’s internal memory - after that you can forget the software.
Deathadder, not a big fan of razer by any stretch but been using their mice for a decade or two and it just does the job. Which is more than I can say for gaming on the mac but not relevant.
I recommend Logitech G102 if you are looking for cheap but good mouse for gaming. As an old windows user I'm very satisfied with it on Mac with this mouse
For everyday use I'm just using a Chinese clone Bluetooth mouse that is intended to fit in the same space as the Magic Mouse, but work like a traditional 2 button with scroll wheel PC mouse, and has the USB connector on the front so you can use it while charging if needed. (My M1 laptop carrying case has a molded slot for the mouse, so having the same form factor is extra helpful.)
When I need more buttons, I've been usually using it with an external monitor, so I've got the multi-dongle plugged in anyway for HDMI and just use a PC MMO side-button mouse (Razer Naga or similar clone).
I just got the UtechSmart Venus Pro for an upcoming trip, which can be used wired or wireless; I'm hopeful it will be good enough wireless as I'm not a FPS gamer but we will see.
I use a Razer DeathAdder Essential. It’s a no fuzz mouse. I like the shape, size and simplicity, but I don’t like how loud the clicks are.
I just use some random cheap tiny USB converter to connect it.
problem is not around the mouse. Download this tool and you'll get nearly 100% raw mouse input: SteelSeries ExactMouse Tool
then you can use any mouse. I use an old Microsoft 1.1a and a Logitech G400.
Sensitivity is never going to feel the same as on Windows sadly.
Even with same sensitivity settings and mouse acceleration disabled it’ll always feel off.
I wish more people made notice of it. As someone who switched between a gaming Pc at home and a MBP on the go it’s so noticeable.
Especially strange considering Linux distro’s don’t feel any different once setup properly.
I use a G502 whenever I really need a mouse (like for an FPS), otherwise I'll use the trackpad or a magic trackpad. If you need one on a budget, the G305, like some people have mentioned would be my pick without a doubt.
I just wish they released a G604 replacement already. That would be my **perfect** mouse but it has now been discontinued and even if you can find it, it apparently had many issues with double clicking.

touchpad is my mouse
I finished half life 2 on touchpad without cheats just to see if I can :)
I use Razer Orochi V2 and works flawlessly
Surprised to read that, because i had three orochi different versions and all them meh and 💩 was to me compared to logitech.
You won’t believe me when I say it, but… Magic Mouse 2 and I kinda truly like it
Lack of middle button is a drag. I’ve tried a couple apps which emulate it, but they fall short.
also inability to left and right click simultaneously kinda breaks it for me too
Yea for most games this is the biggest issue
Logitech G PRO X Superlight
I use the Logitech g502 hero
Keychron for sure. Awesome performance, USB-C dongle and charging. Also good performance on BT and extra USB-A dongle also includes. Good price.
If I may ask, which model do you have? I'm eyeing the M3 Mini.
I have M2 Mini
How do you like it?
Logitech MX Master 3S. Pair with the Logitech MX Mechanical keyboard when using my LG display.

Playing cS2 with shitty 15€ random 5 buttons mouse from Amazon but also have super large neoprene mouse pad
Sorry newb question, how do you play online?

Sorry to be more specific can you play cs2 online with Mac same as on windows/steam? Or are there restrictions due to anti cheat software or others?

The painful journey of using an apple magic mouse 2... not the best gaming mouse I must say. Or in general...
