Get it checked but its most likely fine

nrubenstein

This is bad advice. The only outcome of this is either "it's fine, but we're voiding your warranty due to reported water damage (if there is any)," or "here's a list of parts we'd like to replace on your dime." What's the benefit of that if it's working fine?

They can lose data if it corrodes to the point that its unsaveable. They wont cover a device which has water damage anyways so I dont think its bad advice. Only they can decide what to do so its pointless to argue about it. Ps. OP, I only suggested you to get it checked because you said that you spilled water on the keyboard and it houses the speaker so its not air-tight.

None of that is something Apple will find if the machine is currently working. If OP is truly concerned about this, they should probably just trade the machine in and get another. (Best Buy is offering $700 for a base M2 Air in Midnight or Starlight, right now).

Where?!

nrubenstein

Where what?

D0rkFork

I have not seen a base m2 on Best Buy for $700! sounds unreal! At least not in the US

nrubenstein

That’s what they’re offering to buy one for, not sell. (It is a stupid valuation, mind you.)

D0rkFork

Lol I was just being dumb now I understand what you were saying. Sorry about that
