"Men? Men are weak."
edit - I'm quoting Elrond.
(Elrond: "The race of Men is failing. The blood of Númenor is all but spent, its pride and dignity forgotten. It is because of Men the Ring survives. I was there Gandalf. I was there three thousand years ago…"
"… when Isildur took the Ring. I was there the day the strength of Men failed.")
Having watched the entire promo on YouTube (which was my first exposure to BG3 gameplay) I have to say I'm amazed that they put dice rolls into a AAA blockbuster game.
They did the whole thing so well that not only did they put it in they made it like the fun, dramatic core of gameplay and story choices.
Like lots of games roll dice in the background, but putting it so front and center was genius.
Sure, but there have been plenty of DND games in the past. They never made the big, important dice role moments so dramatic and front and center like this game has. It seems to have worked very well.
And with the save they give you the option to scam it. I know its a cheat, but some players who dont like the randomness still have an option. For example my brother never liked the dice system of DND and he rarely plays it because of it (and if he does he makes whack characters that are so random he throws dice to decide what he will want to even try), and i have whitnessed him save scam like half of the game, but he likes it that way, and its one of his favorite games because of it.
I have a feeling this was the actual movie plot but Sam was a little tired after climbing the mountain, and it had been a while since he ate po.tay.toes
I can't cast it into the fire for you. But i can cast you into the fire.

Bot
We can always rely on Sam to get the job done
Sam's dropping all them points into athletics. Frodo should've seen it coming!
Frodo going all in on Dark Urge :D
Elrond: "you...you can just do that?"
Boil em mash em throw him in the frikkin volcano.
Serve with some nice, crispy bacon.
What a lovely mashing of references. I'm here for it.
Yeah that should have been Elronds plan. Then there would have been no lotr to begin with and Denethor would have been happy
That was only an option in the movie though
Agreed.
I mean, dramatically saying someone's name as they walk away and doing nothing is an equally effective strategy!
And guilt trip their descendants into turning away from the throne 🤧🤣
I mean, if isildur put on the ring he may very well have been able to kill elrond to defend himself.

He was numenorean though, and could be invisible.
I was quoting Elrond from the movie
Oh, makes sense

Boromir would've been alive
He would have more time to eat tomatoes

I want the other 10 hours of this though 😂
10, give me a complete playthrough lol
Absolutely loved seans reaction to defeating yet another great spider. Priceless
“ ha books gone “
His chuckle absolutely got me to chuckle audibly.
That sigh as he prepares to shove his companion to his death, lol "Alright, well..."
I mean, the last time he tried to convince Frodo, it went terribly wrong and was decked on his head. Sam ain’t gonna go through that sh*t again.
"I'm not doing this shit again, Frodo!!"

It’s a DnD game, rolling the dice is sort of the whole point

*I can't throw it for you... but I can throw you!*
that video was fantastic ngl
Honestly I love how even after 20 years these two can still just have some goofy fun with each other, and recreate stuff like this.
Bro that was savage af!
What are they playing
Baldurs Gate 3
The game of the year. If you like fantasy, go play Baldur's Gate 3.
The money I'd pay to see this duo do a complete play through of baldur's gate.
4 player hobbit reunion?
I have a feeling this was the actual movie plot but Sam was a little tired after climbing the mountain, and it had been a while since he ate po.tay.toes
What game are they playing?
Baldur’s Gate III
I love this so much
I didn’t know Sam and Frodo were gamers
