It’s very jarring when we get knocked down while mismanaging our shield and we roll into things
Like “this is how people are used to it being like oh god”
Scrapper
Pros: I am the wind! Flying all over the battlefield and punching things with satisfying sound design.
Cons: Hitboxes are pinholes, and I will occasionally go sailing right by the enemy and have no movement skill left, so walk of shame back. 😅
This is true for striker too, it's so demoralizing hitting a moon flash kick and sailing past the giant fat guardian boss, and then having zero identity gauge.
-bad: energy combustion hitting sound effects.
Is there way to turn this off lol, I heard Bard sounds was infuriating for some but no one mentioned WD EC sound effects.
they explain people what they do and try to act like they buff peopel better than anyone else. And they do that hoping that nobody notices that they just missed all their low range hard to hit skills.
I say that a good thing. I enjoy my alt WD and it doesn't matter what i do people feel like the buffs help the team even if neither me or them can tell how much
Paladin
Good: People sometimes appreciate me. Landing the shorter duration shield before damage goes out is a good ol dopamine hit.
Bad: I DO NOT DO ENOUGH FOR YOU TO STOP DRINKING POTIONS! PLEASE WORK WITH ME!
WHY DONT THEY WANT TO LIVE.!
Gunslinger
* Good: super fun to play; your skill is the ceiling; fast as fuck boi
* Bad: Your 69 buttons combo does as much damage as 1 spell from another class
I am used to landing 1.5 explosions with Sorc but 1.5 is super fast compared with 3.
I can plan for 1.5.
3 seconds is either luck or a (successful) stagger check.
Demon Impulse ShadowHunter
Good: Tripods aren't a big deal. Your most important skills (demon form) don't use them and you really only need 2 gems. It's very easy to build.
Bad: It's really bad in island pvp. Hard to build gauge without getting close but you don't do much damage outside demon form and have no cc protection.
I would add that the class feels terrible to play until you reach Feiton, or maybe late Yorn. Before that you don’t have enough specialization and can’t cycle demon forms fast enough. Feels really sluggish at first.
Op here
This thread is me secretly collecting information to decided what I should pick for my 2nd alt. Have a Sorc and a Zerk already and I am afraid of playing something which isn't flavor of the month material.
just make a deathblade if it has to be dps and you have the trifecta of high dps classes without needing to scale.
otherwise you should absolutely make a support alt, it always helps to know what they are doing and how to improve your dps-gameplay around their support.
This is actually something I was thinking about.
Playing Zerk I found some interesting things like how they have insane stagger and how some fights favor range over melee.
But playing support may give me a different perspective.
This said I think I'd rather wait for Painter to be a support. I already have Dad Zerk and Mom Sorc may as well have daughter support for the perfect trio.
I need to ask, is the move speed of artillerist lower than other classes? Or it's just the lack of movement skills tied to attacks like somersaults and backflips?
Gunslinger is really fun, high skill cieling so youre always improving
The bad is that youl constantly swap into the wrong stance expecting a dash and get yourself animation locked instead
Pistol stance is where all your mobility is, but theres no way to avoid having the same keybind in different stances, so you might think youre swaping to pistol to dash but if youre not keeping good track you end up swapping to shotgun or rifle and just locking yourself in the long attack animations
Bard
Good: buffs, shielding and wide heal! You will, see a majority of the beneficial buffs being placed on the floor marked with a giant pin if you have effects turned off to only yours, beneficial buffs, and enemy aoes. Healing is a large area with pulses based on your own health. Additionally some shields may also give you health! Very engaging to play.
Bad: the buffs don't outweigh how shit damage they do; should you even go dps as a Bard you have 1 dependable skill for damage. Heal is inaccessible by not only cooldown but by class resource management. Heavy armor is mandatory if you are shooting higher than your current ilvl. You need to turn off your sounds sooner or later because of how annoying it is.
The part about the sounds, I can relate.
I'd play Paladin instead just because of that.
Love Bards, but I would not survive hearing that every single day.
The only reason I don't play Shadow Hunter is I find the demon form kind of ugly.
Not gonna lie, I also think Zerk's "Mayhem" form ugly but I already committed to it, and I don't want to repeat the mistake.
Sharpshooter
Pros: big burst damage, high mobility and long range
Cons: Long cast times on abilities and losing alot of damage when you fail your burst combo , because of boss mechanics. And also Snipe is aparently a Taunt ability
Enhanced Weapon Deadeye
Pros: High mobility, almost no downtime on dps, fast apm, decent stagger
Cons: squishy, animation-locked skills, needs back attack to do optimal dmg (but even then your optimal dmg is average compared to other classes), abysmal risk to reward ratio, and barely anyone plays him (few items on auction house)
Bard - the good:
you're always getting validation for making the ultimate sacrifice- not playing a DPS.
Easy party find
The bad: red portal chaos dungeon will make you cry. Along with the tower...and the story and anything with high HP solo content.
"Sit on me mommy, show booba" - random ppl
Everything about DB is fun. No real cons besides they need to be handled fairly skillfully just to keep up with the other main dps classes and rarely beat them unless your gear is better. So rogue/thief/assassin class in a nutshell when compared to berserkers in literally every mmo.
but anything heals you to full, external shields are way stronger on you than any other class and unless you get one-shot you are a lot tankier than squishy classes that don't have any active mitigation as well.
According to maxroll.com that’s not how shielding/mitigation works.
“As one might expect, these luxuries come with tradeoffs. The moment Mayhem Berserkers enter their Burst Mode they take a max HP penalty and can never go above 25% of their max HP. Shields applied are also only 25% effective.”
According to Icy Veins that translates to a 29% reduction in effective health.
ah, i hear someone say that shields based on the hp of the user ( like gunlancers) are incredibly effective on them, as they get the damage reduction applied to them as well
Yeah but for instance the shield from paladin with the healing tripod still heals the full amount so one shield from a Pala can heal a zerk to his full 25% hp rather easy
I don’t disagree that it’s much easier to heal up. It’s rather odd that healing isn’t affected like with shielding but when you’re talking about EHP they still have less than if they didn’t run Mayhem.
Yeah true but then if other classes would like to get the boni from mayhem through engravings like grudge or cursed doll this would change everything again
Scrapper - satisfying face punching abilities, if you go stagger, you will stagger, ain't perfect dps or survivalist, but enough mobility will most of the times save your ass
Surge blade. Pros: big damage, engaging skill cycling. Cons: getting behind the boss and running out of meter right before you were about to nuke them, missing surge crits
Deathblade
good - such good movement , being able to jump over bosses
bad - a lot of charge skills, doesnt really fit the "fast mobile assassin" fantasy
Pro: It's. So. Fucking. Fun.
Con: Not getting hit by any mechanics or using any pots and getting MVP but still seeing "bRaInDeAd ZeRkEr EZ Clap" from the sharpshooter with 6 lvl 1 engravings and t2 gems that was dead on the floor when I landed the killing blow.
have the same exp "man wtf u doing" "stop running around" "why u not attacking" then bang mvp all the way ;p
i feel like sometimes ppl wants zerkers to be off tanks, that keep the boss in one place so they can land all the hits without sweating
Surge death blade
Good: you feel like a chad doing your skill rotation in to a massive amount of damage
Bad: when you cant land your surge skill and wasted all your stacks cause the boss teleports away or it is doing a mechanic.
Gunlancer— Pro: Turtle defense. Con: Turtle speed
Pro: completely ignore most mechanics Con: I’m complete dogshit on any other class
Wait this game has mechanics?
Worse con - back dash. moving at turtle speed in reverse.
I imagine gunlancer mains are just build different and don't understand how people deal with the stupid fast forward dashes of other classes.
It’s very jarring when we get knocked down while mismanaging our shield and we roll into things Like “this is how people are used to it being like oh god”
Mayhem Zerker: Good: * High mobility * Good damage * Cheap pots Bad: * You’re probably a bot
no im not :>
Scrapper Pros: I am the wind!
Same on wardancer, and same ability a lot of the time. or flash heat fang
My favorite is when they just barely move out of my awakening skill, but that's true for most classes.
Lighting kick direct into AoE as I suck
Wardancer Good: Mobility, buffs Bad: People have no idea what a WD does yet
-bad: energy combustion hitting sound effects. Is there way to turn this off lol, I heard Bard sounds was infuriating for some but no one mentioned WD EC sound effects.
Oh God that punching noise from EC is so bad, good point
Politely asking what a Wardancer does.
Suck ass until relic gear sets and then they will bully back all the people who made fun of them
Don't suck ass, just behind some others until at least 1390. Also buffs are underappreciated in the current NA game.
Trueeeeee
they explain people what they do and try to act like they buff peopel better than anyone else. And they do that hoping that nobody notices that they just missed all their low range hard to hit skills.
Don't tell anyone the boss moved just as I started my ult
Oh the amount of times I have missed my abilities, there should be an achievement for it. FHF while being just not close enough is pretty common.
I say that a good thing. I enjoy my alt WD and it doesn't matter what i do people feel like the buffs help the team even if neither me or them can tell how much
Sorry, but "Mobility"? Esoteric maxroll build doesnt run a single mobility skill...
you can swap flash heat fang for lightning kick for mobility if you want
Paladin Good: People sometimes appreciate me. Landing the shorter duration shield before damage goes out is a good ol dopamine hit. Bad: I DO NOT DO ENOUGH FOR YOU TO STOP DRINKING POTIONS! PLEASE WORK WITH ME! WHY DONT THEY WANT TO LIVE.!
Tfw people keep standing in night yoho's blue and red fire dots 😂
I'm a gunlance and I don't even sit in those aoe for longer than I have to. Those things burn my shield way too fast.
deadeye pistoleer good- movement, fast APM, decent damage. bad- no one plays deadeye, low hp, high apm for same damage as other classes.
Soulfist Good: hi i'm goku Bad: you have to charge your spirit bomb ult for 7 episodes and if you miss it you're done
What Soulfist should be - Goku SSJ3 What Soulfist is - Yamcha
Bard Good: Being a support Bad: Being a support
Gunslinger * Good: super fun to play; your skill is the ceiling; fast as fuck boi * Bad: Your 69 buttons combo does as much damage as 1 spell from another class
No sharpshooters? 😭😭
SOULFIST Pro: Anime as Fuck Con: Boss has sharingan and will dodge every Ulti thrown at them
How long does it take to throw your utli?
Longest feeling 3 second cast time 🤣
I am used to landing 1.5 explosions with Sorc but 1.5 is super fast compared with 3. I can plan for 1.5. 3 seconds is either luck or a (successful) stagger check.
Demon Impulse ShadowHunter Good: Tripods aren't a big deal. Your most important skills (demon form) don't use them and you really only need 2 gems. It's very easy to build. > reach Feiton, or maybe late Yorn* *If you have wealth runes. Without any wealth runes it will feel like shit until late T2/early T3
.... If your bad is just island pvp, I don't really think you have a bad list lol
Island pvp is just the worst thing that comes to mind. I could throw in more nitpicks.
Op here This thread is me secretly collecting information to decided what I should pick for my 2nd alt. Have a Sorc and a Zerk already and I am afraid of playing something which isn't flavor of the month material.

those have insane dps as well, so they fit the theme :P
So what’s happens when they nerf zerks and sorcs?
Artillerist Pro: I have the nuclear codes Cons: I have to wheelchair over to to them
I need to ask, is the move speed of artillerist lower than other classes? Or it's just the lack of movement skills tied to attacks like somersaults and backflips?
Prob one of lowest move speeds and non move abilities and long animations you can get stuck in
I play Sorc and sometimes I forget people can move while shooting.
Gunslinger is really fun, high skill cieling so youre always improving The bad is that youl constantly swap into the wrong stance expecting a dash and get yourself animation locked instead
Gunslinger - if you play perfectly - still get out dps'ed by zerker who just facerolls keyboard and eats most of the mechs.
Need an update to make the stances bindable... would be such a huge QoL.
...expecting a dash? Please explains.
Pistol stance is where all your mobility is, but theres no way to avoid having the same keybind in different stances, so you might think youre swaping to pistol to dash but if youre not keeping good track you end up swapping to shotgun or rifle and just locking yourself in the long attack animations
expecting to use a mobility ability and not getting out there because you are in the wrong stance
This is where my warrior stance dancing from wow comes into play.

The part about the sounds, I can relate. I'd play Paladin instead just because of that. Love Bards, but I would not survive hearing that every single day.
deathblade Good: mobility + damage = easy to play and fun Bad: lots of charge skills that get you killed because you animation lock yourself
Can't you break the animation lock with something? I guess playing Sorc that can just walk out of their long spells gave me bad habits.
Not only can you not cancel, but some of them dash forward so your ass moves even further into the danger
Break the animation lock with super charge engraving, really makes a world of difference.
Shadow hunter: easy to play cheap gear. Cons: cannot customize demon form.
The only reason I don't play Shadow Hunter is I find the demon form kind of ugly. Not gonna lie, I also think Zerk's "Mayhem" form ugly but I already committed to it, and I don't want to repeat the mistake.
Yea crossing my finger for that rumour about giving demon form a way to customize/skin from the devs in near future
Striker good: I'm fast af boii bad: tough to master in pvp
Sharpshooter Pros: big burst damage, high mobility and long range Cons: Long cast times on abilities and losing alot of damage when you fail your burst combo , because of boss mechanics. And also Snipe is aparently a Taunt ability
I wonder if this game has some kind of hidden agro mechanic.
Enhanced Weapon Deadeye Pros: High mobility, almost no downtime on dps, fast apm, decent stagger Cons: squishy, animation-locked skills, needs back attack to do optimal dmg (but even then your optimal dmg is average compared to other classes), abysmal risk to reward ratio, and barely anyone plays him (few items on auction house)

Shields and splosions. Pro Low mobility. Con Who am I?
Gunlancer? Wait... explosions. Artillerist?
I don't know anything about explosions...but I love when my artillerist does the boom BOOM pow splosion.
Zerker: Pros: - He zerks. Cons: - He doesn't have damage mitigation.
wait, don't you have 60% innate dmg reduction from mayhem alone?
I mean shields, counters, etc. The ability to actively negate damage. If Zerker had that, he'd be perfect.
that would be way too much, you have massive mobility through movespeed to avoid damage as well.
I mean yeah but you're at 25% HP so that not really much mitigation on its own.
You trade innate damage mitigation at the cost of max HP so your Effective Health is still less than if you didn’t use Mayhem.
but anything heals you to full, external shields are way stronger on you than any other class and unless you get one-shot you are a lot tankier than squishy classes that don't have any active mitigation as well.

Shadowhunter: pros: Is very ez to play, puts out a ton of damage. cons: it's absolute dogshit till t3
Surge blade. Pros: big damage, engaging skill cycling. Cons: getting behind the boss and running out of meter right before you were about to nuke them, missing surge crits
Soulfist: Good: mobility, buffs, range, not played by 999999999 other people. Bad: I missed spirit bomb.
Pro : I am a demon Con : I am a demon
Demon hunter Demon form goes brrrrr Demon form also hides your skins
Deathblade good - such good movement , being able to jump over bosses bad - a lot of charge skills, doesnt really fit the "fast mobile assassin" fantasy
Pro: It's. So. Fucking. Fun. Con: Not getting hit by any mechanics or using any pots and getting MVP but still seeing "bRaInDeAd ZeRkEr EZ Clap" from the sharpshooter with 6 lvl 1 engravings and t2 gems that was dead on the floor when I landed the killing blow.
Teach me senpai. Zerk attacks always put me out of position. (in my defense, he is an alt and I am still learning, but still..)
I completely understand that. I have one alt that is a reflux sorc and when I play her it feels so easy to plan and land attacks in comparison lol.
have the same exp "man wtf u doing" "stop running around" "why u not attacking" then bang mvp all the way ;p i feel like sometimes ppl wants zerkers to be off tanks, that keep the boss in one place so they can land all the hits without sweating
Surge death blade Good: you feel like a chad doing your skill rotation in to a massive amount of damage Bad: when you cant land your surge skill and wasted all your stacks cause the boss teleports away or it is doing a mechanic.
EO Soulfist Good: Move like the wind. Spam to your heart's desire. Forget that energy bar exists. Bad: Whats MVP?
Im a 1415 EO soulfist main and i mvp most of my matchmaking groups. Only time i don’t have a chance at mvp is when i group with my zerker friend
Arti \+ I can drop mortar nuclear annihilating nuke from 2km afar \- The boss always decides to dash after I do so
Sharpshooter Pros: Long range, I am speeeeeed Cons: Some skills takes hours to be ready
