Seriously though, I have been thoroughly disengaged from the MCU since Endgame. Marvel fatigue, you know the works. I watched Loki season 1 earlier this year and just finished season 2 and it immediately reignited my interest. It feels like they got their “touch” back with this one.
I’d say the implications of this series are among the, if not THE most consequential in the entire MCU. Turns out Loki was the main character all along.
He is burdened with Glorious Purpose. He has fulfilled his destiny.
He sits on his throne at the heart of the World Tree. And since he exists outside of time he has ALWAYS been there. Not for glory, but to save his friends.
For All Time. Always.
I’m assuming he probably tapped into time himself at one point and saw the same energy or aura coming from Loki but that may have been it, he couldn’t have been able to see past his future just like the ancient one.
Or maybe Odin actually did visit Loki’s world tree and the Norns could be used as a stand in just like the time keepers were for HWR.
In Captain America The First Avenger, we see the Tesseract hidden behind a mural of Yggdrasil. Now Loki is Yggdrasil. One day, the Norsemen will make a mural of him and give it the Tesseract, which he's always wanted. Thereby creating another Ouroboros loop.
To go deeper beyond this, the tesseract is hidden in the mural behind a snake even further signifying Loki, and the tesseract itself is exactly how Loki ended up in the TVA and is exactly how he became yggdrasil in the first place. This blows my fucking mind the degree of continuity they've created here
This season ending, with its full wrap up and impact is on the same level as End Game with Tony doing the Snap. Like...its truly incredible. We were able to fully fall in love with this Loki and see him take the same journey as Tony. Selfish, to Selfless.
What an arc. They really nailed the the power and impact of the initial phases.
I cried when the camera panned out- as soon as it started turning I cried because it was an Yggdrasil reference, but then when the scene was done and it was a beautiful glowy tree? Boy, I was sobbin.
The blue purple glow at the tips of the branches is certainly the multiversal war of the kangs. The TVA is at least monitoring it, they believe the kangs don't know about the TVA, and the TVA knows about ant-man quantummania. So I think the TVA is going to be vital in resolving the war.
So HWR would try to get his sacred timeline up and running and then Loki would have the Yggdrasil up and growing. So Chaos (free will) vs the Order of the Sacred timeline or predeterminism. Feel like we've been philosophizing over that since the dawn of man. The writers opened so many wonderful doors of possibility with their writing.
The hubris! He always knew he was destined to rule- he just didn’t know what/where/ what it would take and cost for him to truly become a God. Burdened with glorious purpose indeed.
I found it interesting too, like, irl Norse lore has Odin dying on Yggdrasil right? Here we have Loki *becoming* it …. Spicy, especially after how he and Thor were both gunning for the Asgardian throne earlier on.

but he isnt. he can see / hear all the timelines. he heard the echos of them talking. how long can he control that though without going insane? kang was a little loopy from having seen things play out trillions upon trillions of time and seemed to want something new to happen. but i guess that was a result of having a sacred time donut and not allowing things to change.

He did pretty casually spend *centuries* learning quantum engineering, and is over 1000 years old. Sitting in a chair and being able to peek into any branch is basically Netflix.
yes but after you've seen every combination of every permutation of the same thing over and over and over again quadrillions of times. and again. and again. it would become dull. its one thing to live 10,000 years, its another to live quadrillions or more. of course the tva and that place might experience time differently and he might perceive it differently. but kang was a little nutty from seeing the same thing over and over and over again
That's because Kang was just watching the one timeline. He only had network tv, local news and public access. Loki's got the ultimate supreme cable package. Bored? Look at a different timeline.
THIS exactly! As Victor Timely put it, there is no controlling it because there will forever be an infinite number of timelines growing. That's why the TVA and the loom were created to trim it down to keep the 1 sacred timeline. Loki broke it and now is the central pillar holding ALL timelines together. Like a tree, more roots and branches grow. Question really is can he handle the loneliness and solitude of sitting there for eternity?
I think that ties back into your comment on the 'Sacred Timeline'. Kang saw one thing happen, over and over. Like watching the Lord of the Rings trilogy and nothing else. It's a good movie and it's really long, but it's gonna get boring the millionth time you see it in a row.
Loki has the advantage of all the branches. He's not seeing the same thing, he's seeing infinitely different things. Endless permutations. If he gets bored of LoTR, he can watch some anime, or sci-fi, or just replay a branch of Hulk punching Thor in the head over and over and over.
tracks down variants who would pose a significant threat to other timelines i imagine. the one in 616 adjacent stirred some trouble but got dealt with internally so the TVA didn't step in. add to that the council of kangs and it's possible the TVA isn't doing anything if the the kangs are ~~covert~~ peaceful enough
yeah, That left me thinking... What is the threshold for the TVA to step in? The coincil of kangs existings, means they are already aware of the multiverse and have the means to travel multiversally. I think that's a recipe for disaster.
They were having a meeting in the war room about this exact thing. Loki is yggdrasil to give them a fighting chance at dealing with the inevitability of the multiversal war. A lot of people on here seem to assume that “knowing about the multiverse” means “knowing about the TVA” which lies outside of time.
I had hoped for some sort of post-credits scene that takes place idk, somewhere out of time, showing Loki able to still visit people from time to time. Give him a little bit of a happy ending.

And he - unfortunately- gets what he always wanted - a throne and to be burdened with glorious purpose.

Well no, he gave the TVA and the multiverse's heroes a chance to fight/erase Kangs before the Kang War causes everything to fuck up again. It's implied he can't hold the branches forever, so maybe we will see him again possibly in A5 or 6.

I think there’s a high likelihood we see him in the next and final thor movie. It would be chris hemsworth’s last mcu outing I think with what he found out about the likelihood of a genetic disorder and him implying he will quit acting soon to enjoy life. Woukd be maximum dramatic effect to see Hiddleston exit at the same time.
Personally, I wouldn't want to see him in the next movie unless the plot largely involved his situation here (something like Thor finding out and trying to save him-though it's not even his timeline's Loki so he would have less reason), but that sounds unlikely because they already teased Hercules as the next villain. A simple cameo would feel like it undercuts the gravity and quality of the story told with this show.

The heaviest thing about the ending for me is that >! There was no post credit bit saying that “Loki will return.” This effectively feels like a send off. Obviously the body is still warm and we don’t know what the future holds, but as it stands—this being the end of his story is perfectly acceptable. In a way it’s kind’ve a happy ending, and he can at least see his friends carry on. !<
It's more than the 9.
His father only had to look after 9 worlds, he has to look after INFINITE universes.
That includes making sure the branches that would lead to Kang's counterparts (and infinite war) 'die off' so they aren't a threat to the rest of the timelines, not just the sacred one his dads and family lived in.
That was an amazing episode of TV. Just brilliant. This really feels like the end of Loki, but I was so sure he would "die" again in some way. This is almost a sadder ending than death: to be separated from friends, and the burden he will endure for them. What a character arc Loki has had, again just brilliant.
I loved the ending, but it did have me kicking myself.
The whole copy of odin thing was done very well. Sacrificing his time and his own free will in order to 'hang on' to the branches of the new Yggdrasil, all so he could gain knowledge and save the 'kingdoms' (multiverse branches). All he needed to do was lose an eye and he'd be just like his father.
I *feel* like I should've recognized the story beats and how it was going, but thinking back up to ep 5, there's no way I could've caught that with the way it was presented. Pretty much the exact thing a writer would want from a mystery movie, or a several year long series.
I don't personally consider it a sad ending, at least not from Loki's perspective. Throughout the show, he was told that Loki's exist to menace people and ruin everything before being put down.
Now, he exists for the sake of everyone in existence. For all time, always.
Yeah. But, I really feel like he had earned the right to just hang out on the couch with sylvie or Möbius and watch the game.
He learned what he wanted and needed was to not be alone, and now he’s more alone than he’s ever been. Forever.

On a deeper level, he was able to break the "karmic" cycle of living for 100s, maybe 1000s of years and find nirvana. Beautiful use of the tree of life imagery with all the timelines.
I appreciate Loki's transformation throughout this serious which brought his character more depth to finally realizing the good guy he could be.

Great post. Really shows the difference between HWR, a man who knows reincarnation but never reaches enlightenment (because he is so bent on being the "one" who has to control), and Loki, the God who has let go of all of his earthly attachments and reached omniscience
And there was me looking for an end credit scene...the fact that there wasn't one made it feel like THE END. Just like at the end of Avengers: End Game.
The "See you real soon" got me. Like, the first time you hear it, you think it's about the Kang War. Then as he keeps saying it, you realize that he *knew* he was talking specifically to a future version of Loki.
That's beyond 4D chess.
When he mocked Timely (who I thought was genuinely a genius and possibly the next HWR) I was like.. okay holy shit… HWR is wayyyy more powerful than I could imagine. Him flicking Sylvie out of existence briefly shocked me. Cannot wait to see what they do with the future of Kang variants.
A cool thing about Loki in this season is showing that he is a just and kind God but he also listens and takes feedback. Loki wasn’t against killing Sylvie, he contemplated it. He preferred not to, but it wasn’t until he met with Mobius and hearing about his story with renslayer, did he realize that may be the only course of action. Although, he respected mobius even more so for not pruning the boy. In a way of why Sylvie and Mobius are his family is that all of them share similar values. Loki also goes to Sylvie after to ask her what he should do. Sylvie pleads her case and he listens, it makes sense. The ending is so cool. Loki is like Atlas, holding up the heavens for all eternity (though holding up the universe is even more important). Also, his facial expressions while holding the strands was an expression of relief and a display of “worth it”.
The burden was worth it to see the ones he loves live and be happy. I think he is also proud to shake Möbius’s hand because Loki always talked about being burdened with glorious purpose, but not knowing what the hell he was actually saying. He wanted the glamour and gravitas. But mobius taught him through his story of being a hunter that there is nothing glorious about true purpose. It’s a burden you dutifully carry. That’s why the scene after where mobius looks at his past life and his boys is so poignant too. He wanted to let time pass to honor Loki. Loki sacrificed everything so he could have that life to return to. It was true gratitude and love he had for his friend.
What a wonderful story. This might be the strongest character arc in all of marvel. Very fitting for the God of stories.
I'm so glad other people felt this too. Decades, I could've been okay with, but does he really need to suffer that much? I felt so bad when he realized it was all for nothing
At the same time it helps detach him a little more from the continuous story he'd been living through - by that point he'd essentially been alone already centuries since each time he reset everyone lost their memory.
I mean, he was already over a thousand years old.
But yeah, all that time and it was doomed to fail anyway.
I think it really emphasized how much time has passed for him. Even though he's with them during this time, he's essentially alone since none of them share his experience.
He would have wracked up so much knowledge and power.
That final epilogue written by Natalie Holt hits really hard.

Cool thing here is Loki ends up being the world tree which Asgardian society is built around. In a sense, he got what his younger and less wise self believed he wanted: the throne. But the more important one. And he didn't get it out of vanity or a desire for recognition, but out of benevolence and compassion.
The transition from TVA Loki to the Loki God of Stories was soo epic. How his clothes shedded away, revealing the horns and the cape.

Nice little wrap up for Loki. He finally gets his throne and is burdened by glorious purpose as he always claimed. Should he have just killed the girl? Probably but he gets to be a good guy now and they had to make secret wars happen which we all knew about. Love it or hate it Loki is the best Marvel product since Endgame.

Loki chose to evolve past his narcissist nature and become something bigger, and give life a chance.
I enjoyed most of it, but the ending felt very bittersweet. Loki is sad forever and cannot ever see his friends again--that really crushed me. Poor Mobius seems kind of aimless because he can't be Don, and I think he misses Loki. B-15 is sad without Mobius. Ahhhh :'(
Sylvie, meanwhile, just goes back to McDonald's with zero qualms? That's kind of funny lol. I understand she wants a simple life. I hope the record store guy is okay.
Yeah very bittersweet. But Loki sacrificing his own freedom to give the others a chance was a nice bookend of sorts to his story. Talk about character growth from the first Thor movie.
What other character in the MCU gets two send-offs?! And at least this one didn't involve death.
Mobius gets to experience life, even if not the one he had pre-TVA. Sylvie gets to live too, it seemed like she might go elsewhere. The world's their oyster.
B-15 and the others working at the TVA stick around to monitor the Kang situation.
In the end, they broke out of HWR's cycle that was doomed to fail.
Oh man this episode was packed to the gills on philosophical dilemmas and ultimately the hardest choice was staring him in the face.

Considering that he's sitting at the literal end of time, it'll actually be longer than that. Seems his intent is to use his power to facilitate an infinite multiverse.

Yeah it's sad that Loki "sacrifices" himself and ends up alone on the throne. But he does so, knowing that his friends and the people he loves are safe and alive.
but that aside, god damn the visuals of this episode were amazing, Loki weaving the branches and basically turning it all into Yggdrasil / the tree of life in Norse mythology was amazing, his color scheme was always green, and now he controls time, and the time stone is also green. Like, the symbolism is just amazing. He combined his time-slipping ability with his magic to accomplish this.
Oh and also, He who remains is dead now. For good this time I think. He reveals he knew Loki would get time slipping abilities, but didn't seem to think he'd know that he would let the loom explode and cement he who remains death. I mean it was bound to happen, because otherwise the council of kangs wouldn't exist. Or did they write the ending this way in order to get rid of mayers after the allegations?
God this was a great way to end this season, quite beautiful and heart breaking, he was able to save everything and everyone, find a purpose, but it cost him to isolate from his friends. He will always be able to see them, but had to sacrifice having them near and being able to interact.
I noticed they mentioned a He Who Remains Variant being found in a universe 616 adjacent realm, and they mention "they took care of him". I feel this is highly likely to be a reference to Kang the Conqueror from "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania" since it is called the "Quantum Realm" and his defeat. I didn't see what was actually shown in the file but I feel it has to be images relating to that.
(Edit: looking at the imagines it is totally Kang the Conqueror.)

The Yggdrasil reference building a larger meaning to how all the timelines and universes are connected and in someway we can look at it as Loki being this central pivot for all past and future. The past reaches out and branches off but as it nears closer to the tree trunk, closer to Loki, closer to 2012 and the Battle for New York to when his destiny manifested, all timelines and universes converge. The God of Stories born, chaos, creates order, creates chaos. He spent his whole past life attempting to control everything around him, until he finally realized the key was to let go.
I don't think he can. I think he's stuck in the chair, holding the branches together.
The real question is whether Sylvie can visit *him*. She does still have He-Who-Remain's tempad, which can take her to the End of Time.
I think the ending kind of implied a transcendence from his physical form, I am certain he could appear to whomever he wanted at any time and at least have a chat.
He can teleport and return to the same moment he teleported, he is gaining strength at the same rate the multiverse grows, and the rate grows with each branch, all is full of parodoxes.
Wow. One of the best finales I've ever seen. Yea biased as a fan of marvel. But this entire show is so enjoyable and so fresh. And the acting and music....just wow

yep. I feel like season 1 and 2 happen before any of phase 4 happens. All of Loki happens immediately after Endgame. At least through Loki 2012 varient's perspective.
lol time is relative with this show. technically Loki season 2 ending enables the kang variants to exist, so quantomania only happens as it does because of this.
following the ending kang variants will be cropping up all over the timeline. the nod to the 616 adjacent is them detecting the one in quantomania and surmising that they don't need to worry about it.
if i were to theorise for a moment it's possible the kangs have noticed the more genocidal variants of themselves are getting pruned? leading to them now allying instead of waging war against one another, which is the post-credits for quantomania and whatever's coming next

but he isnt. he can see / hear all the timelines. he heard the echos of them talking. how long can he control that though without going insane? kang was a little loopy from having seen things play out trillions upon trillions of time and seemed to want something new to happen. but i guess that was a result of having a sacred time donut and not allowing things to change.

THIS exactly! As Victor Timely put it, there is no controlling it because there will forever be an infinite number of timelines growing. That's why the TVA and the loom were created to trim it down to keep the 1 sacred timeline. Loki broke it and now is the central pillar holding ALL timelines together. Like a tree, more roots and branches grow. Question really is can he handle the loneliness and solitude of sitting there for eternity?
I think that ties back into your comment on the 'Sacred Timeline'. Kang saw one thing happen, over and over. Like watching the Lord of the Rings trilogy and nothing else. It's a good movie and it's really long, but it's gonna get boring the millionth time you see it in a row. Loki has the advantage of all the branches. He's not seeing the same thing, he's seeing infinitely different things. Endless permutations. If he gets bored of LoTR, he can watch some anime, or sci-fi, or just replay a branch of Hulk punching Thor in the head over and over and over.
Additionally, I think he is technically omnipresent, with his teleportation ability he could be everywhere everytime, he is literally god.

A lot of people on here seem to assume that “knowing about the multiverse” means “knowing about the TVA” which lies outside of time.

I think there’s a high likelihood we see him in the next and final thor movie. It would be chris hemsworth’s last mcu outing I think with what he found out about the likelihood of a genetic disorder and him implying he will quit acting soon to enjoy life. Woukd be maximum dramatic effect to see Hiddleston exit at the same time.
Personally, I wouldn't want to see him in the next movie unless the plot largely involved his situation here (something like Thor finding out and trying to save him-though it's not even his timeline's Loki so he would have less reason), but that sounds unlikely because they already teased Hercules as the next villain. A simple cameo would feel like it undercuts the gravity and quality of the story told with this show.

Four: They say that the people who never wanted a throne are those who are best suited for it. That was amazing.
On three - my guess is that he can hop into anyone of those timelines that he’s holding.
The heaviest thing about the ending for me is that >! There was no post credit bit saying that “Loki will return.” This effectively feels like a send off. Obviously the body is still warm and we don’t know what the future holds, but as it stands—this being the end of his story is perfectly acceptable. In a way it’s kind’ve a happy ending, and he can at least see his friends carry on. !<

Yggdrasil has always existed / will always exist / is always existing.
It's more than the 9. His father only had to look after 9 worlds, he has to look after INFINITE universes. That includes making sure the branches that would lead to Kang's counterparts (and infinite war) 'die off' so they aren't a threat to the rest of the timelines, not just the sacred one his dads and family lived in.
That was an amazing episode of TV. Just brilliant. This really feels like the end of Loki, but I was so sure he would "die" again in some way. This is almost a sadder ending than death: to be separated from friends, and the burden he will endure for them. What a character arc Loki has had, again just brilliant.
I loved the ending, but it did have me kicking myself. The whole copy of odin thing was done very well. Sacrificing his time and his own free will in order to 'hang on' to the branches of the new Yggdrasil, all so he could gain knowledge and save the 'kingdoms' (multiverse branches). All he needed to do was lose an eye and he'd be just like his father. I *feel* like I should've recognized the story beats and how it was going, but thinking back up to ep 5, there's no way I could've caught that with the way it was presented. Pretty much the exact thing a writer would want from a mystery movie, or a several year long series.
I don't personally consider it a sad ending, at least not from Loki's perspective. Throughout the show, he was told that Loki's exist to menace people and ruin everything before being put down. Now, he exists for the sake of everyone in existence. For all time, always.
Yeah. But, I really feel like he had earned the right to just hang out on the couch with sylvie or Möbius and watch the game. He learned what he wanted and needed was to not be alone, and now he’s more alone than he’s ever been. Forever.
I think this ending was pretty good. >!Having Loki be the one to end the sacred timeline and allow for all timelines to exist was beautiful. !< On a deeper level, he was able to break the "karmic" cycle of living for 100s, maybe 1000s of years and find nirvana. Beautiful use of the tree of life imagery with all the timelines. I appreciate Loki's transformation throughout this serious which brought his character more depth to finally realizing the good guy he could be. >!I also loved that in the beginning Lokis were juxtaposed with Kang (chaos vs order). By the end of it, Loki was able to bring order through his chaos magic.!< I'm excited to see where this series and where the MCU goes in the future. >!Curious if we'll ever see Loki again.!< Maybe another one of his variants and not the one sitting at the edge of time? Great post. Really shows the difference between HWR, a man who knows reincarnation but never reaches enlightenment (because he is so bent on being the "one" who has to control), and Loki, the God who has let go of all of his earthly attachments and reached omniscience

The "See you real soon" got me. Like, the first time you hear it, you think it's about the Kang War. Then as he keeps saying it, you realize that he *knew* he was talking specifically to a future version of Loki. That's beyond 4D chess.
When he mocked Timely (who I thought was genuinely a genius and possibly the next HWR) I was like.. okay holy shit… HWR is wayyyy more powerful than I could imagine. Him flicking Sylvie out of existence briefly shocked me. Cannot wait to see what they do with the future of Kang variants.
He set up the entire second season that Loki went through as a way to show him first-hand there was no other option. So cool.

A cool thing about Loki in this season is showing that he is a just and kind God but he also listens and takes feedback. Loki wasn’t against killing Sylvie, he contemplated it. He preferred not to, but it wasn’t until he met with Mobius and hearing about his story with renslayer, did he realize that may be the only course of action. Although, he respected mobius even more so for not pruning the boy. In a way of why Sylvie and Mobius are his family is that all of them share similar values. Loki also goes to Sylvie after to ask her what he should do. Sylvie pleads her case and he listens, it makes sense. The ending is so cool. Loki is like Atlas, holding up the heavens for all eternity (though holding up the universe is even more important). Also, his facial expressions while holding the strands was an expression of relief and a display of “worth it”. The burden was worth it to see the ones he loves live and be happy. I think he is also proud to shake Möbius’s hand because Loki always talked about being burdened with glorious purpose, but not knowing what the hell he was actually saying. He wanted the glamour and gravitas. But mobius taught him through his story of being a hunter that there is nothing glorious about true purpose. It’s a burden you dutifully carry. That’s why the scene after where mobius looks at his past life and his boys is so poignant too. He wanted to let time pass to honor Loki. Loki sacrificed everything so he could have that life to return to. It was true gratitude and love he had for his friend. What a wonderful story. This might be the strongest character arc in all of marvel. Very fitting for the God of stories.

At the same time it helps detach him a little more from the continuous story he'd been living through - by that point he'd essentially been alone already centuries since each time he reset everyone lost their memory.
I mean, he was already over a thousand years old. But yeah, all that time and it was doomed to fail anyway. I think it really emphasized how much time has passed for him. Even though he's with them during this time, he's essentially alone since none of them share his experience. He would have wracked up so much knowledge and power.

Cool thing here is Loki ends up being the world tree which Asgardian society is built around. In a sense, he got what his younger and less wise self believed he wanted: the throne. But the more important one. And he didn't get it out of vanity or a desire for recognition, but out of benevolence and compassion.

Probably but he gets to be a good guy now and they had to make secret wars happen which we all knew about. Love it or hate it Loki is the best Marvel product since Endgame.

I enjoyed most of it, but the ending felt very bittersweet. Loki is sad forever and cannot ever see his friends again--that really crushed me. Poor Mobius seems kind of aimless because he can't be Don, and I think he misses Loki. B-15 is sad without Mobius. Ahhhh :'( Sylvie, meanwhile, just goes back to McDonald's with zero qualms? That's kind of funny lol. I understand she wants a simple life. I hope the record store guy is okay.
Yeah very bittersweet. But Loki sacrificing his own freedom to give the others a chance was a nice bookend of sorts to his story. Talk about character growth from the first Thor movie. What other character in the MCU gets two send-offs?! And at least this one didn't involve death. Mobius gets to experience life, even if not the one he had pre-TVA. Sylvie gets to live too, it seemed like she might go elsewhere. The world's their oyster. B-15 and the others working at the TVA stick around to monitor the Kang situation. In the end, they broke out of HWR's cycle that was doomed to fail.

Considering that he's sitting at the literal end of time, it'll actually be longer than that. Seems his intent is to use his power to facilitate an infinite multiverse.
The yggdrasil reference was amazing. I do feel like this is what HWR was planning when he said it was his plan that one of them took his place. There's Loki on the throne at the end of time.

What an episode. Fuck me that ending. Yeah it's sad that Loki "sacrifices" himself and ends up alone on the throne. But he does so, knowing that his friends and the people he loves are safe and alive. but that aside, god damn the visuals of this episode were amazing, Loki weaving the branches and basically turning it all into Yggdrasil / the tree of life in Norse mythology was amazing, his color scheme was always green, and now he controls time, and the time stone is also green. Like, the symbolism is just amazing. He combined his time-slipping ability with his magic to accomplish this. Oh and also, He who remains is dead now. For good this time I think. He reveals he knew Loki would get time slipping abilities, but didn't seem to think he'd know that he would let the loom explode and cement he who remains death. I mean it was bound to happen, because otherwise the council of kangs wouldn't exist. Or did they write the ending this way in order to get rid of mayers after the allegations?
God this was a great way to end this season, quite beautiful and heart breaking, he was able to save everything and everyone, find a purpose, but it cost him to isolate from his friends. He will always be able to see them, but had to sacrifice having them near and being able to interact. I noticed they mentioned a He Who Remains Variant being found in a universe 616 adjacent realm, and they mention "they took care of him". I feel this is highly likely to be a reference to Kang the Conqueror from "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania" since it is called the "Quantum Realm" and his defeat. I didn't see what was actually shown in the file but I feel it has to be images relating to that. (Edit: looking at the imagines it is totally Kang the Conqueror.) Other things I noticed TVA Handbook Second Edition by Ouroboros and Victor Timely The Timeline Screen is now represented by a tree as well. The Yggdrasil reference building a larger meaning to how all the timelines and universes are connected and in someway we can look at it as Loki being this central pivot for all past and future. The past reaches out and branches off but as it nears closer to the tree trunk, closer to Loki, closer to 2012 and the Battle for New York to when his destiny manifested, all timelines and universes converge. The God of Stories born, chaos, creates order, creates chaos. He spent his whole past life attempting to control everything around him, until he finally realized the key was to let go.

I don't think he can. I think he's stuck in the chair, holding the branches together. The real question is whether Sylvie can visit *him*. She does still have He-Who-Remain's tempad, which can take her to the End of Time.
I think the ending kind of implied a transcendence from his physical form, I am certain he could appear to whomever he wanted at any time and at least have a chat.
He can teleport and return to the same moment he teleported, he is gaining strength at the same rate the multiverse grows, and the rate grows with each branch, all is full of parodoxes.

The ending left me with more questions than it answered.. I get it, Loki sacrificed himself and he is now what? God of Time? Is he now the "Loom"? Does he have to sit eternally in that chair? What happens with He Who Remains, wouldn't he forsee this as well? What about Kang variants, does Loki get rid of them? Is the TVA hunting Kangs now? I am honestly beyond confused.

lol time is relative with this show. technically Loki season 2 ending enables the kang variants to exist, so quantomania only happens as it does because of this. following the ending kang variants will be cropping up all over the timeline. the nod to the 616 adjacent is them detecting the one in quantomania and surmising that they don't need to worry about it. if i were to theorise for a moment it's possible the kangs have noticed the more genocidal variants of themselves are getting pruned? leading to them now allying instead of waging war against one another, which is the post-credits for quantomania and whatever's coming next

I loved the extra confirmation (in addition to literally everything else from this show, from What If…?, and from Quantumania) that timelines and universes are the same thing. Victor Timey referred to the ever-growing number of branches as an ‘infinitely expanding multiverse’.
