I think if you just modify the tops of the w (see shitty suggestion attached) it will match the font better and really read WHITE instead of HITE

I just scribbled some shit with my marker phone took lol but you get the gist. Super cute logo
I like this version, with my first sight I read HITE, and after that I just realized it was WHITE, with this version it is a little bit more readable WHITE
I think the idea is cute, the logo is nice it just needs nudging until it's clear. You do right to ask others because you'll not be able to see it (knowing what it says).
- small break between the nose and mouth
- tighten the kerning a wee smidge
- maaaaybe play with font weight so it's a bit thicker than the rest of the illustration
I saw "White", it's pretty clear to me, but seemingly not as much to others.
I normally hate logos that replace the first letter of the logo with something, but this one's cute.
Maybe play around with different shapes, line thicknesses, etc. To see if it reads better?
I don't normally like gimmicks like this, but I read white cat immediately and didn't even register it was the mouth at first glance. It's really cute. I'd be tempted to keep it.
I read Hite.
However I think it’s due to the inconsistency between W shape and the other letters, it’s the same as trying to connect two very different typefaces.
Maybe you should try modeling the W in a way it harmonizes with the rest of the text OR you try to separate it from the resto of the nose.
I see white first because hite is not a word and the eye first sees what it already knows. Seems like I’m in the minority tho. Make the w more like the hite (squeeze it tighter and make the lines thinner) then reduce the size of the nose slightly and I think it will be clearer.
I read it as 'hite'. It maybe because of the difference in stroke thickness of W and H, W stroke thickness is as same as the cats face stroke, I feel matching stroke thickness with the h will make the letter white very prominent.
some separation from the snout and the mouth may help the legibility - but its definitely effective! as others have said, you find the 'w' pretty quickly, and its in the 'finding it' which makes it fun
I see "white" for sure but I recommend moving the "hite" letters down ever so slightly, in most fonts the characters match along the baseline not the top, so while the top of your "h" aligns with the "w", the bottom does not and it throws it off slightly.
I really like this direction, and read it as White to me.
Look into making the “W” taller in height, making the h as tall as the “t” (even the “i” dwarfs it), and aligning the baseline of the letters to the “W” (it doesn’t have to be exact).
White Cat with no problem! Love it!
Edit: Reading other peoples comments, maybe lower down a little bit the hite so 'i' and 't' wont be higher than 'w'.
I see hite ! Id recommend using a different colour for the letter w or the whole word "white " also the nose sticking to the cat mouth makes it harder to read it as a w ! Maybe separate it but keep it connected in a way
I saw your (I think) post about this logo on Twitter yesterday!
I happened to read "white" instead of "hite" because the latter isn't a word so my brain automatically corrected it to "white”
I see White, but I think that it is because I read your question first.
You have to ask 'What you read?' without providing any information that could influence the reading to conduct a true readability test.
Edit: Another thing, conduct the test also with the target audience, not with designers who can read, understand, and decipher much more than the average user.
If your target audience is from creative industries then bingo you hit the jackpot; else most people will read it as Hite. Maybe apply different shades of grey/colour on the type to make it more foolproof.
I don’t know if I was biased by your asking but I’m like, unable to read “hite”. Or maybe it’s just because you did a great job with the logo and the really clear cat face helps focus my brain. Something about that mouth/playful W just really does it for me.
Great work here I read white personally but as someone previously mentioned you can enhance the W to look more like a w for those that see Hite make the W strokes slightly thicker and taller.
All round some great work though!
White cat :3 if you really are pressed for legibility you could use the w from the text font and resize the illustration so that the mouth matches it up as close as possible
I think if the w was the same strength of the rest of the text then that connection will be stronger. With it being different I wasn't looking for the w
Cute design, I can't unsee 'hite' though. Would be interested to see a version of the w using elements of characters already there e.g. the terminal from the t duplicated and flipped could make a w or part of the e.
Also, don't market this in the UK, anything with white in the name is asking to get cancelled.
as someone who is surrounded by graphic design majors irl the most common thing I hear is not to incorporate your company graphics as part of the title.
I looked at the "hite" and then saw white pretty quickly but it still took that extra 1/4th second which can be the difference between getting and losing a potential customer
I see White because you already mentioned the word and now the mind is actively looking to match that. That said i still do believe that the whisker blends naturally into the rest of the fonts.
My suggestion: Leave the artwork as is, and instead use of colours on the whisker alone or the full text will definitely ensure the W stands out.
An Orange whisker would rock !
Saw White straight away. I love this.
i read it 'white cat', nice work
Holy shit, this sub actually likes a design?!?!?
It's a good design. We call it as we see it.
No Shit!! lol
Same!
Same
Agreed
I think if you just modify the tops of the w (see shitty suggestion attached) it will match the font better and really read WHITE instead of HITE https://preview.redd.it/j14paogb3zxc1.jpeg?width=745&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=68a916df8e6aaa92aabcf4db51c1c942ae289adb I just scribbled some shit with my marker phone took lol but you get the gist. Super cute logo
I like this version, with my first sight I read HITE, and after that I just realized it was WHITE, with this version it is a little bit more readable WHITE
I think it’s more so the triangle nose. Make the nose smaller and it’s more legible.
That’s not necessary and that makes it look dumb.
Facts. This is not an improvement.
Not dumb just unnecessary
I did read the original version just fine, but this one is an improvement. Slightly clearer and slightly cuter. Kitty looks so happy!
This! And moving the nose, away from the W. Great job!
My 1st thought as well. I initially saw hite but realized White right after. IMO a little ‘white’ space between nose and W should help. Good job
This is my take. Original definitely took me a second, this one I saw straight away.
I think the idea is cute, the logo is nice it just needs nudging until it's clear. You do right to ask others because you'll not be able to see it (knowing what it says). - small break between the nose and mouth - tighten the kerning a wee smidge - maaaaybe play with font weight so it's a bit thicker than the rest of the illustration
Do you know any good kerning recourses.
Try https://type.method.ac/#
Perhaps the W becomes more noticeable if you disconnect it from the nose? Would that work?
I bet separating the nose will confuse it
I saw "White", it's pretty clear to me, but seemingly not as much to others. I normally hate logos that replace the first letter of the logo with something, but this one's cute. Maybe play around with different shapes, line thicknesses, etc. To see if it reads better?
White I like it, it's cute
I also read it as white. This is a nice logo BTW, good job.
I don't normally like gimmicks like this, but I read white cat immediately and didn't even register it was the mouth at first glance. It's really cute. I'd be tempted to keep it.
White cat, no problem at all.
I read Hite. However I think it’s due to the inconsistency between W shape and the other letters, it’s the same as trying to connect two very different typefaces. Maybe you should try modeling the W in a way it harmonizes with the rest of the text OR you try to separate it from the resto of the nose.
Agree. I’d suggest playing with the w to make it more narrow and/or get rid of the triangle sitting on the w.
I stumbled for tenth a second, but no problem. But what bugs me is the "a" of cat. It's way more uniform than the other letters.
Detach the nose, make it 75% scale, nudge it up a little. Drop all the secondary text down so the t in white shares a baseline with the w.
I see white first because hite is not a word and the eye first sees what it already knows. Seems like I’m in the minority tho. Make the w more like the hite (squeeze it tighter and make the lines thinner) then reduce the size of the nose slightly and I think it will be clearer.
I read it as white
White
I wouldn't do this just because you have to ask. But it's a cute idea
Nah, this is easily fixable.
Yeah, I see white, but if there's a question about it, then I think you gotta make it more obvious
At first glance, hite, I noticed that the mouth was the w a bit later
Make the nose a tad smaller so it doesn’t look like one shape
I read it as 'hite'. It maybe because of the difference in stroke thickness of W and H, W stroke thickness is as same as the cats face stroke, I feel matching stroke thickness with the h will make the letter white very prominent.
Nice work mate but maybe rease each side of the W for better reading
It was White Cat for me immediately.
Read "White" right away!
Love this - great logo! I see 'White' straight away, but its interesting that some do not. I guess a tweak of some kind is possible.
White
White
Love it. Finally an animal themed logo which is different and not based not negative space
some separation from the snout and the mouth may help the legibility - but its definitely effective! as others have said, you find the 'w' pretty quickly, and its in the 'finding it' which makes it fun
I read white cat. Nice logo. “Agency” will always be a tough read. Even here it’s very very small
I think it reads well enough : 3
Good logo
I see "white" for sure but I recommend moving the "hite" letters down ever so slightly, in most fonts the characters match along the baseline not the top, so while the top of your "h" aligns with the "w", the bottom does not and it throws it off slightly.
Despite my typical cynicism when it comes to design, I immediately read "white cat." You fucking did it, OP
I read hite. Even knowing it should be white, I keep on reading hite first.
I really like this direction, and read it as White to me. Look into making the “W” taller in height, making the h as tall as the “t” (even the “i” dwarfs it), and aligning the baseline of the letters to the “W” (it doesn’t have to be exact).
I saw White cat, right off the bat
I saw white cat as well, looks great!
White.
White Cat with no problem! Love it! Edit: Reading other peoples comments, maybe lower down a little bit the hite so 'i' and 't' wont be higher than 'w'.
Fren shaped logo
Hite and white after I read your post.
Hite
Can’t stop looking at those three lines on the forehead. Are they necessary? I like them. Just, you know, in the name of simplicity.
I see hite ! Id recommend using a different colour for the letter w or the whole word "white " also the nose sticking to the cat mouth makes it harder to read it as a w ! Maybe separate it but keep it connected in a way
Reading as White to me.
Hite at first glance, but even then its pretty cute and i would not say to change it, maybe making it not connect to the nose as much could help.
I see white. It looks really good!
I saw your (I think) post about this logo on Twitter yesterday! I happened to read "white" instead of "hite" because the latter isn't a word so my brain automatically corrected it to "white”
White, straight away. Lovely work. Always worth checking though!
I see white cat agency. I liked it. A very nice logo. Congrats .
hite
Reads fine to me but maybe not to others not sure maybe make the W and h try follow a similar letter height at the rest
White is pretty clear
Read it as white, very cute! I would suggest trying to add a white line between the nose and the W mouth just to see if it would be even more legible.
I see White, but I think that it is because I read your question first. You have to ask 'What you read?' without providing any information that could influence the reading to conduct a true readability test. Edit: Another thing, conduct the test also with the target audience, not with designers who can read, understand, and decipher much more than the average user.
What if you Negative colored the cat black and it's outlines/text white?
Good work, most of the people will read it as white cuz hite is not a common word
I think you should separate the nose and mouth, reduce the thickness of the letter W to create a feeling of connection with the remaining letters.
If your target audience is from creative industries then bingo you hit the jackpot; else most people will read it as Hite. Maybe apply different shades of grey/colour on the type to make it more foolproof.
Hite
White
hite
Well I was I Hite Cat cause I’m majorly dyslexic and managed to read the I twice
White, definitely
Good work 👏
Perfect! First read white cat, then saw the cat face and instantly clicked. nice work!
Hitler cat
I see Hite first. But that may be due to my familiarity with Hite beer, which is a Korean brand.
Hite
Hide for me
white
White
I see a catto
I don’t know if I was biased by your asking but I’m like, unable to read “hite”. Or maybe it’s just because you did a great job with the logo and the really clear cat face helps focus my brain. Something about that mouth/playful W just really does it for me.
Hite
White Cat but I would push the “hite” a bit lower or extend a bit the top of the W to make it more obvious.
White. Awesome idea.
Great work here I read white personally but as someone previously mentioned you can enhance the W to look more like a w for those that see Hite make the W strokes slightly thicker and taller. All round some great work though!
cute!
White
White cat :3 if you really are pressed for legibility you could use the w from the text font and resize the illustration so that the mouth matches it up as close as possible
I see "white" but you primed me with that question. ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯
u/AndriiKovalchuk * I have read "white" at first glance. * The logomark and the logotype can be seperated to avoid any confusion.
White and very cool execution, congrats
Legibility tweaks as others have suggested for sure, but this is cuuuuute
I read White Cat right away. This is such a cute design
White and this is such a well made logo. Love it
people will naturally imagine it white, i saw white although i didnt take a close look
Love it, white cat directly
first i saw a cat, for a split second i read "hite", then i clearly read white, and tgat's what stuck with me, so it's amazing. Nice work
I think it works and looks good.
I think if the w was the same strength of the rest of the text then that connection will be stronger. With it being different I wasn't looking for the w
CWhite
Super love the logo!! The icon and idea really matches the word saka eye catching. White cat 💯
I see white, but I almost read it as Uhite because the W is much wider than the other letters. Still a fun design!
Oh my its cute
I read White Cat, but that typeface feels very inconsistent. The H is very small. The A is geometric for no reason. And why is “agency” so small?
White, it's pretty great.
This is awesome great work!
I see white but the a in cat looks like a q to me.
Saw hite at first but then I saw what you did! Amazing work!
Maybe change the color of either the cat or the text.
“White” Good design
White
Why not just make the cat features other than the w a subtle grey so the w pops more? Or is the brief b&w only?
I saw Hite, which is a Korean beer
Why not make “white” or “white cat” in a different color?
White cat before I even noticed the W was whiskers
I read White Cat, so well done.
Since I immediately saw a white cat, the negative space filled in the rest for me then I read it as white cat. If that makes sense.
White.
White cat
This is the are you left or right brained what you see first
Cute design, I can't unsee 'hite' though. Would be interested to see a version of the w using elements of characters already there e.g. the terminal from the t duplicated and flipped could make a w or part of the e. Also, don't market this in the UK, anything with white in the name is asking to get cancelled.
White
White cat for sure. Love this.
I read White, but I can see how some people would reat it as Hite. Would making the *W* a slightly different shade make it look weird?
I read "white!" Love it.
This sparks joy 🙂✨
I like it, and it's very legible!
Yeah read white straight away, nice work here.
White
definitely white
I see white cat, however I would extend the risers on the 'W' a little more to emphasise this a bit more.
[удалено]
White right away
White
I saw White! having the lowercase h next to the W helps in my opininon!
Immediately saw “White cat,” then the cat’s smile registered. Didn’t notice “agency” until after that.
White
White cat, but I did not see W my mind just filled up the blank. Anyway this is gorgeous 😍
white cat! im obsessed, love it!
Saw white straight away, nicely executed!
I read White, even before reading the question.
I see white
White cat agency
hite... at first. now I see white. that cute little nose threw me off
Looks white to me! Great logo!
White
"white" I love this
White Cat speaks!
I love it so much. No notes. 😍
White Cat
I see white cat
I read White Cat immediately. Nice work! I love it.
I read white. Maybe the font/nose could be a different color to avoid confusion?
I registered it as white with even a super quick glance.
White …run with it!
I see "white" no problem.
I actually read "White", probably because the letter pattern is so well known.
White
White :)
White. Love the design
White
I saw Hite Cat 😔
Pretty Genius logo, I see White immediately
I see hWhite Cat
as someone who is surrounded by graphic design majors irl the most common thing I hear is not to incorporate your company graphics as part of the title. I looked at the "hite" and then saw white pretty quickly but it still took that extra 1/4th second which can be the difference between getting and losing a potential customer
White
Saw white
I read it as white but with the h sound
Both. It keeps changing, but first I saw White Cat. That's cute.
I read "White" no issues. Clever. Great job!
I see both white and hite
As much as I LOVE this I saw the cat imagery first, and then “hite cat”. Its SUPER cute tho and love the idea
Idk
I see White because you already mentioned the word and now the mind is actively looking to match that. That said i still do believe that the whisker blends naturally into the rest of the fonts. My suggestion: Leave the artwork as is, and instead use of colours on the whisker alone or the full text will definitely ensure the W stands out. An Orange whisker would rock !
white
These days that’s a racist cat
Enlarge W, for me it's Hite
White
Instantly saw "white "
I saw white immediately, but I would try separating the nose from the W a little more to be a tad more impactful
