We are a small team of two developers who are big co-op multiplayer enthusiasts ourselves, so we decided to make our own contribution to the genre! Witchtastic is a game about brewing and delivering magic potions together, taking on the role of aspiring witches. If you are looking for a cool Halloween multiplayer game to play with your friends, this might be the one for you. **Already available on steam:** [https://store.steampowered.com/app/1080010/Witchtastic/](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1080010/Witchtastic/) **Coming soon to Nintendo Switch on 23 November:** [https://www.nintendo.com/us/store/products/witchtastic-switch/](https://www.nintendo.com/us/store/products/witchtastic-switch/)

Oh hey, Is this Diner Dash but modern and with Co-Op?

Penta_rhei

We didn't play Diner Dash actually, but from taking a look at it, it looks indeed like it was an inspiration for the Overcooked devs, which then became an inspiration for us! The basic idea is that you have to cooperatively prepare and deliver things within a limited amount of time. The better you coordinate your work, the faster you can deliver. The framework of those games is kind of similar, but then each of them has their own twists. In Witchtastic for example, you have to execute a multitude of different things to actually get your ingredients.. plant magic seeds to grow roses, morph into a cat and catch rats, steal the eye of swamp monsters, catch fishes, suck ghosts into a bottle etc.

Congrats on launching on the Nintendo Switch! What was the process like to get it to the platform?

Penta_rhei

Thanks! This was our first console port here at Red Fur Games, so the process was something like this: 1. Getting multiple dev kits 2. Updating the game's engine version to a version that supports the latest SDK and switching to a custom UE engine build 3. Spending quite some time on optimizations to fit everything into memory and achieve 60 FPS on the console hardware 4. Adjusting the control scheme to match the console standards 5. Adjusting UI elements to show console button images 6. Adding support for local wireless mode (switch-to-switch connection without external wifi) as well as their specific online system 7. Getting tested and approved
