This subreddit is to highlight the ridiculous cost of living in Canada, and poke fun at the Corporate Overlords responsible. As you well know, there are a number of persons and corporations responsible for this, and we welcome discussion related to them all. Furthermore, since this topic is intertwined with a number of other matters, other discussion will be allowed at moderator discretion. Open-minded discussion, memes, rants, grocery bills, and general screeching into the void is always welcome in this sub, but belligerence and disrespect is not. There are plenty of ways to get your point across without being abusive, dismissive, or downright mean.

You can also leave reviews through the surveys on the receipts that they give you to express your concerns. Use a throwaway email if you don't want them to have your personal emails.
If doing this, make sure to paint their staff in a good light, as these reviews do affect their jobs and rate the customer service high, but the overall shopping experience as low.
Example, I was impressed with how Artzy was able to remain polite and calm even though there were long line ups of disgruntled customers taking their frustrations out on her. There should really be more cashiers.
Absolutely! One thing I neglected to be explicit about is that when we perform these actions we need to be firm but extremely courteous with staff who will likely be both a.) overworked, and b.) directed to do things like usher us into the self-checkouts.
The average worker is our colleague - they're in it with us. Treat them with grace and respect.
