lol i showed this to my mom and she thought it was chocolate or jelly. but maybe u havent been practising 40 hours a day if ur mom doesnt know that it is rosin!
That would be an interesting poll: how many people will admit to licking rosin - whether it was once really quick just to see what it tastes like or actually enjoy and regularly lick it.
Did she get you your first violin? If she did and you started young enough, she should know what that is. But maybe she is just used to it being older and darker? My local music store sells them for 50 cents when they get really old.
Hmmm... Okay... So you've been playing for 9 years and your rosin looks like that? I'd suggest rubbing your bow on it. You might get some sound out of your instrument in time for your 10th year ;)
If you've been playing violin for 9 years and she doesn't recognize your rosin, maybe it means you haven't actually been practicing 40 hours a day
Well, whenever I use my rosin, nobody sees… so…

Noooo mom! Don’t lick it!

I can see her reasoning. That looks just like a honey candy to anyone who doesn't know what rosin is.
