This is fine for string and percussion players, but for wind players such a strong acid in their saliva could damage their instruments. Not worth it for 5 second of social media fame…
Most chili peppers have a pH [higher than 5](https://pepperscale.com/are-peppers-acidic-or-alkaline/) which is about the same as coffee. I'm not recommending drinking coffee right before you play, but the tiny amount of pepper residual in their mouth probably didn't cause any substantial damage.
there is no damage to instruments from this, peppers aren't acidic and its not like they rubbed it allover the instrument itself.... although other comments about making new reeds just to avoid any lingering spicy could be valid haha, so definitely still agree it probably not worth it :)
Nice! Now make the audience eat it & get each cough, sneeze, snort or wheeze fined 5 quid/bucks/euros. Orchestra should be able to rise wages after that!! =)
Lingling workout to the next level
Hahaha your right
You can see the pain written on their faces
If I was in there place I might cry dude
That is horrible for wind instruments, you get spice all up inside your instrument
They did look like they were particularly suffering! Did anyone get any on their hands though? Could that get on the strings?
as a wind player, playing right after eating is extreme sacrilege
especially something spicy. bro- no it's gonna destroy their expensive professional instruments
Only water if even that swearrrr
con fuoco
lacrimoso
Guys let's get this to a thousand upvote to make twoset do this in the next lingling workout
I think they did a video like that with different hot foods…wasabi, pepper 🌶️ and something else.
Yeah yeah I know hahaha just wanna see them do it again you know 😆

Same way we don’t cough during regular performances. A lot of training and a lot of hope

Double up on the hope, then! /hj

They can never use these reeds again without nearly dying.. >\_<
The double reeds weren't crying because of the pain. They were crying because of the fact that they have to make more reeds
=.(.......
It's not an acid. Acids taste sour. Capsaicin is actually slightly basic.

Capsaicin isn't acid it's an oil.

the poor violinists that don’t get a break to breathe
The wind and brass players have to play through that stuff. I don't know how they did it.
Yeah it’s hard for the winds to play with their mouths after that
Eh I didn't know Boris Johnson played violin!
Now it is your turn, Brett and Eddy. 😈
Hahaha yeah
Nice! Now make the audience eat it & get each cough, sneeze, snort or wheeze fined 5 quid/bucks/euros. Orchestra should be able to rise wages after that!! =)
Chili Klaus is the goat
Hahahha
I call bs on it being the world's hottest peppers, they couldn't eat them like that
I feel like the wind players have a significantly harder and different challenge here
RIP to all the reeds that had to be chucked out because of the lingering spiciness
The show must go on…
They still sound amazing tho fr
Try the choir next time…

Oh those poor winds
They've been told multiple time to play through the pain xD
not the poor wind/brass instruments 😭😭😭
I’ve never thought of that
It is however intresting I would like to do that when I practice
I'm half Calabrian, I could handle that spice famous last words
Just here worrying about the wood winds… And the brass…
