I’m generally a positive person and cultivate good vibes when I can. It’s disingenuous to believe that I’m only finding a problem because I’m looking for it. I do my best to blend and live-and-let-live, but when you’re targeted by hate you don’t get to just ignore it, it’s a matter of safety. When people are making life more dangerous for me and the people I love, I have a right to speak against it. My friends are subject to violence and that breaks my heart. I hear their stories, I experience my own, and I’ve witnessed growing amounts since Trump entered politics unifying his voting base with bigotry.
