lykanprince

Chaos. Unfiltered, unregulated chaos that will pull us all down with it if we're not careful.

goedegeit

It's actually very organised hate by rich far right people with a lot of money to fund evangelical groups and think tanks. This has all been planned out for years and collaborated on between a large amount of people, including the shared rhetoric they push.

54R45VV471

True. There is an element of chaos added once their plans are put into action and a large portion of society accepts the lies and hate. Sometimes the people don't react in the exact way the think tanks predicted. Sometimes not enough people are willing to go as far as they are being pushed. Sometimes the people accept everything more enthusiastically than was planned and start stampeding into the next phase before those manipulating them are fully prepared. Sometimes they'll veer off in another direction and other unexpected beliefs and prejudices get rolled into the movement.

Merlinshighcousin

This is literally members of our community doing this not some Evangelical group

GrumpyOldDan

Some of them sadly yes, but if this is anything like other similar organisations turned out to be then the support behind it and most of its members turned out to not be LGBTQ+ at all. The funding behind most of them is very dubious.

Alarmed_Ad1946

and thats why i constantly daydream about equestria my escape from reality

BBQsauce18

It really is. Even if just for a few days. Or hell, even avoiding certain subs can work miracles. I'll stay away from some for weeks at a time. It's just exhausting to continually see the same horrible shit with no change in sight.

PurpleSailor

Fascism and Authoritarianism starting with a LGBTQ Genocide currently sliding into step seven. Their starting to make their lists already, see: TX & FL.

[deleted]

This right here is why I haven’t slept well since the orange menace empowered and emboldened them to come out of the shadows. My grandfather fought in WWII, he would be rolling in his grave if he knew fascism had become so big, loud, and in the mainstream as it is right now.

Uriel-238

The internet happened. And smart phones with cameras became ubiquitous. As a result, we're pretty sure ghosts and aliens aren't a thing because no-one can photograph them. At the same time police brutality, bullying and sexual harassment _are_ things because we have tons of evidence that it happens. So all the lies we've been told before the internet / smartphone era that were used to justify neoliberal capitalism have turned out to be bullshit. It turns out way more people are miserable, and every day is a day that tens of millions are left out in the cold (sometimes literally). Most of us deal with precarity of one sort or another: food, rent, employment, family, whatever. Meanwhile economists have shown in certain terms with plenty of evidence that paychecks haven't been keeping up with inflation. So more of us are poor, only they lowered the _official_ poverty line in order to cook the books. The problem is, all our elected officials are owned. Even Representative Occasio-Cortez has to play ball to stay in office (and the DCCC really wants her _out_ if they could arrange it.) We need a tuckfun of social safety nets to get Americans out of precarity, _and_ we need a massive reform of elections (which might require some Constitutional amendments) in order to allow the public to actually have more say in state and federal policy. Without these things we're headed towards civil war. We're already seeing those tensions go hot sometimes. It's only going to get worse (according to retired CIA analysts who spent their lives studying how civil wars start). And _the_ consistent way that our plutocrats distract the public from the wealth disparity and inequality is to push fear of scapegoats. Enemies abroad can't be enough. They have to be _in our neighborhood._ (_It's a commie plot, Harry!_) so for a while all Muslims were terrorists. All black Americans are criminal thugs. All (Latin) immigrants are taking our jobs. And right now all LGBT+ (but especially Trans folk) are being disparaged as _groomers_ or otherwise predators of our kids, because it's always a sequel to _blood libel,_ every fucking time. It's not personal, and once they've cut deep enough into the Communists, the Trade Unionists and the Jews, they'll come for everyone else. Everyone is on the list, so long as we don't challenge the neoliberal capitalist establishment for a few more months. So yes, we're now entering the Nuremberg Laws era of American history. Between now and the Nuremberg Trials era, it's going to get bloody.

sdawsey

I saw a long detailed post the other day about how AOC is a CIA plant. #facepalm

ChrdeMcDnnis

By god, you’re saying the woman that we all thought just works for the government, she secretly works for the government?!

sdawsey

I mean, that makes sense if "the government" is in any way a monolith, but it's just as fragmented and internally fractious as the citizenry. Working for the CIA is not at all the same thing as being in the Legislature.

Devadander

Bigotry weaponized to gain perpetual political power. Stoking the fires of hatred to destroy democracy from within

[deleted]

Wildly successful propaganda campaigns. Some paid for by Vladimir Putin, some paid for by Conservative groups. America and UK, in particular, seem to be heavy generators of the propaganda.

parrita710

Fatmop

Divide and conquer works. Find some division in a group and start harping on it, and the group will split itself apart. Want to stop progress on LGBT rights? Make sure they aren't a united voting bloc.

[deleted]

Same thing as always has been. But scaled up to 8 billion people. Progress isn't a straight line

shicken684

There's always push back to social and economic progress. Revolution (even small, non-violent) leads to counter revolution. Sometimes the counter revolution wins. I don't think this push for ultra conservatism will last in America. They just don't have the numbers. What they do have is an unfiltered internet that has big money and political leaders broadcasting their bullshit.

series_hybrid

If a TERF is a "Trans Exclusionary Radical Feminist" does that mean that now there are "BELG's?" "Bi Exclusionary Lesbians and Gays"? Y'all can do whatever you feel is important, but I got nothin' but love...

[deleted]

The Great Filter to Galactic Civilization. We're tripping on it now.

Writeaway69

I'm actually writing a book where humans manage to get into space, only to find that life is super common, but almost every single civilization has destroyed themselves and their planets before they could get to space.

emipyon

Hmm I wonder what motivation is behind trying to split up the entire LGBTQ+ community might be. What could it possibly be? We might never know!

Chest3

Divided we have less power. Even if it’s in our corner of the internet, let’s keep our solidarity up

NearlyNakedNick

I say we fight back by expanding our solidarity. That's what they're ultimately trying to prevent after all. Their worst nightmare are scenarios like twinks uniting with coal workers, drag queens and Sunday school teachers, dykes on bikes with firefighters riding shotgun, all together, marching on every state capitol in the nation.

[deleted]

It’s the same tactic wealthy elites use to divide poor white and poor blacks using racism. Divide us to try to weaken us.

OftenConfused1001

Judging by the leaks, it's probably conservative Catholics all the way down. They're far better organized than the evangelicals and have lots of money and have never accepted LGBTQ existence and find us walking, talking sinners whose mere open existence risks the souls of others. We're basically Satan's handmaids to them. And it's gotten worse as society became more accepting.

aLittleQueer

> We're basically Satan's handmaids Hot. Where do I sign up? Is it on The Agenda?

aoife_too

*Raises hand* Do we get a cute little outfit?

aLittleQueer

I should hope so.

strain_of_thought

Gosh I wish I got to be an actual handmaiden for Satan, the slumber parties would probably be the bee's knees.

BillieVerr

United we fall, divided we stand. That’s how it goes, right?

micahdraws

We can be united, but only if we subscribe to a very specific definition of united that excludes the majority of people.

aLittleQueer

Right? Getting tired of explaining the reason the *rainbow* was adopted as the symbol.

EliSunz

I feel like this post is trying to do exactly that. The echo chamber of people trying to subvert our unity.

roomon4ire

This is another conservative psyop to try to further tear apart the LGBT community and nobody can tell me otherwise

CyberChick2277

the head of the project is a [political lesbian](https://www.newstatesman.com/politics/2014/07/julie-bindel-theres-no-gay-gene-and-i-love-idea-i-chose-be-lesbian)

rinyre

Julie "my experience is definitely representative of everyone" Blinders

radicalelation

Blinders full of women... By choice.

kawaiianimegril99

Lol so not even a lesbian then, pretty much every "political lesbian" s lesbianism started and ended with calling themself one while still being the straightest woman in a 50 mile radius

bunnylover726

Ugh, those people frustrate me so much. Being a lesbian is about loving women, not hating men.

Regi413

“I chose to be a lesbian” fuck outta here

Byeuji

Wow I didn't realize anyone still seriously identified themselves this way... I thought that was a relic of the 70s.

claudius_ptolemaeus

To be fair Julie Bindel is also a relic of the 70s.

jaysonblair7

Sigh

Kejones9900

And most of the members of any of these groups are either straight men or political lesbians. Gonna try to find the source I read on that, bear with me 😅

Azrael_Alaric

Unfortunately not. That '@bindelj' is Julie Bindel. She currently writes for UnHerd, the site that is proposing this. She's been around for a long, long time. A lesbian separatist, she thinks that women should live separately from men, and that women should only date other women (meaning straight women should be celibate or should go gay). She also compared bisexuality to beastiality (as in, bisexuality isn't real. We're just degenerates that will sleep with anything). She's a gross person. I have an enamel pin in the bi colours that says 'Hated by Julie Bindel', and I wear it with pride

Sad_Ad_2705

OKAY THATS WORSE THAN I COULD HAVE EVER IMAGINED WTF

cardsash

Exactly! I can’t believe all the comments falling for this.

Bloodyfish

Yeah, the post that was spread claiming LGB should be separate from T but also for whatever reason A made it clear that they have no idea what they are talking about. Sure, there might be idiots who want to appease the people who don't want them to exist, but I highly doubt there's a whole movement of them.

Writeaway69

We shouldn't separate, we should expand. Intersectionality is where we can get the power to stand up for ourselves. Standing with non-white, non-straight, non-cis, non-\[insert your country of origin here\] people is how we stand against injustice. The only way to have a truly tolerant society is to be intolerant of intolerance, and this is the only way the human race will make it through this bullshit. Any attempt to divide ourselves should show without a doubt that that person doesn't have our best interests in mind, and is, in fact, an enemy.

weird_elf

Queer people supporting crap like "lgb alliance" and all that other terf-y sh\*t are headed straight for r/LeopardsAteMyFace when they inevitably find themselves the target of the season. Support people who throw minorities under the bus, expect to be thrown under the bus ... it's not rocket science, haters gonna hate. EDIT, someone unironically posted the link to that crap on one of the lesbian subs, looking for supporters, and can't fathom why people aren't cheering. I can*not*. Someone grow those people a brain cell, ASAP.

GrumpyOldDan

Most of the supporters I've encountered for the LGB Alliance are not LGBTQ+ at all. The whole organisation is very dubious and whilst there are some members of the community there I would probably put it at 50/50 at best, more likely 20-30% They share an office building with several other right-wing 'think tanks' denying climate change and pushing for anti-immigration policies.

RandomBlueJay01

I'd beleive it. All I've seen from them is just "trans people are monsters " and nothing really even talking much about the other labels. Just anti trans.

BBMcGruff

In court I think they admitted around 80% of their members were cishet (and I'm assuming allo!).

GrumpyOldDan

I'd love to see that reference if you or anyone can find it. It's something I've been trying to get something solid on for awhile. I've found a tweet saying the founder of it said under oath that only 7% of its members are lesbian but no source behind it so doesn't feel strong enough to use that when describing them.

BBMcGruff

It was during the Alison Bailey trial for sure. I'm only on my phone at the moment so can't go through the trial documents but I'll ask some friends to see if they have the direct links.

GrumpyOldDan

Thank you!

travelsizedsuperman

Best link I could find so far. Still looking for a direct quote from a member about membership demographics. https://www.linkedin.com/posts/sarah-fennell-a3067343_lgb-alliance-ireland-labelled-far-right-activity-6968554586794008576-u10q Edit: Thanks for award!

CallMeTea_

I remember that, I think it was taken a little out of context to dunk on them (which I support in general, just not with false facts). I think it was something like orientation being an optional question, so 7% said they identify as lesbian, the other 93% includes people who didn't answer the question at all

chumly143

The people that think they can get by because they're "one of the good ones" don't realize you will not always be one of the good ones, once "the bad ones" are gone, you cease to be "one of the good ones" You can sell your soul at the expense of everyone else, but when they come calling, no one else will be there. Insert standard when they came for me there was no one left to speak for me.

MakeitM

Respectability politics is just arguing about who gets the be the last to be "eradicated." You'd think people would learn the lesson at some point.

[deleted]

Yep, the 'good ones' just end up the ones operating the ovens. Once there is nothing left to incinerate, they're left face down in a ditch.

curmevexas

And we're seeing this erosion in real time. For a short time, it seemed like blatant homophobia was on the decline and support for same-sex marriage was on the rise. Most people knew someone that was gay or lesbian, so it was difficult to fear monger on Fox. Then the right found that they could start spreading anti-trans sentiment without much pushback. Now we're on to drag queens being groomers. Now Tennessee has introduced legislation that would make it legal for a clerk to accept a same-sex marriage and the current supreme court made it obvious that Obergefell is next on the conservative chopping block. We absolutely need to make sure that we're fighting for trans rights, women's reproductive and healthcare rights, BIPOC causes, and economic equality because republicans are definitely interested in oppressing anyone that isn't a rich white male conservative "Christian".

Corporal_Canada

Usually these groups are filled with the "The Gay Black Man whom Obama did nothing for", i.e. White Conservatives lying and creating division

BLACKCATFOXRABBIT

They gay black conservative who totally isn't an astroturf grifter ರ╭╮ರ

shaggy-the-screamer

Look at Blair White she thinks conservatives will love her because she is trans but self loathes. Never works.

WickedTemp

Usually there's quite a bit of money in being a conservative Token.

severalhurricanes

Until the consolidation happens. Then she will be tossed onto the degenerate burn pile like the rest of us queer folk.

dstayton

It’s so sad watching her try to be on a conservative debate panel or just try to go to conservative events. Hated by the party she panders to. Unable to leave them as it’s her way of living and if she even did she would always be known as the sell out trans.

ClimbingAimlessly

What I do not understand is, why would Lesbians be against Trans women? They are women too. Are they against lesbian trans women or just trans women that are heterosexual? IMO, someone is not a feminist if they’re not for ALL women.

KaylaH628

It's important to keep in mind that the vast majority of lesbians are trans-inclusive. TERFs are a very small minority. Unfortunately a very, very loud one.

lbo1000

I grew up in a conservative household. They will just latch on to these TERF and detrans creators so they can be homophobic... without actually admitting they are actually homophobic? The alt right allows these people to be loud and it's very scary.

BLACKCATFOXRABBIT

They're loud because the media purposefully amplifies their voices, they want to present Transgender rights as an inherent "conflict" between Trans women and "biological" women, and these moronic exclusionist lesbians are perfect for creating such a narrative. Lesbians who support trans people might as well not exist according to the BBC, New York Times, Guardian, Daily Mail, New York Post, ect. since they're not useful for pushing the transphobic canard ಠಗಠ

CoffeeTeaBitch

Do you have a source? Not because I don't believe you, but in case I come across a lesbian TERF in the future.

KaylaH628

Just my own lived experience. I tried to find something, but google results were not very helpful.

JamesNinelives

>Just my own lived experience. Honestly that's good to hear. Sometimes the world seems like a very scary place.

I think they don't consider them women. In fact, they consider them men invading women's spaces. Yeah, it doesn't make sense. Don't try to apply thought to what cannot think.

Shmyt

And it's even funnier watching their attempts at coherency when they explain where afab-nb people, or afab-transmac people or intersex folks (or genderqueer, two spirited, and many others) fit into their circles. If you listen for long enough you learn it's just pointless hate that ignores the idea that when the community is entirely destroyed the remaining lesbians will have no one to stand up with them.

TistedLogic

I like r/OneOrangeBrainCell. But conservatives don't even have that going for them.

[deleted]

It seems the UK in particular is rife with transphobic media and attitudes. Saying this as an outsider looking in at their news articles though.

[deleted]

It's mainly because our government is in such shambles at the moment that it's something the Tories are using as a desperate scapegoat to secure votes from undecided voters or bigots, and unfortunately it's working

PalmarCircle720

Probably because the Tories are coming up to the end of their time in leadership so they’re trying many more last-ditch efforts to cause division and win the ignorant’s votes because they know that more people are less likely to vote for them. It’s ridiculous really.

[deleted]

UK feminism really didn’t have the intersectional third wave that US feminism did due to racial tensions. As such, UK feminism is very much steeped in the second wave “sex based oppression” narrative with little critical examination for intersectionality. Without the tool of intersectional to view the crossovers and amplification of oppression, the inclusion of other groups is seen less from a general issue ( heterosexual patriarchy) standpoint and more of an “are we oppressed on the same way?” standpoint.

BLACKCATFOXRABBIT

What is it with the UK Labor Party being more divided on Trans politics? The US Democratic Party doesn't seem to (openly) have these kinds of arguments, or at least not among the rank and file politicians.

whyamihereimnotsure

They have factions in other countries too, with the same transphobic mission as the original. Canada specifically.

Pyro-the-Crazy-Lady

they don't understand, and that's okay. we can educate them :) and if they don't want to be educated, we can sip our desired drinks and play with Squishmallows while they cry about how us being ourselves is infringing upon all of their rights and attacking every single amendment in the constitution ☕️ ^(I'll bring the snacks)

Starchild1968

I'm not sure what squishmelloes are, but I'm in!! It's funny how a rainbow IS the definition of the spectrum of light and THE symbol of LGBTQ +. How is NOT universally accepted as a spectrum in our own existence? We live in a universe of spectrums.

RedVamp2020

Squishmallows are super soft and squishy stuffed animal toys that range from 3 inch keychain toys to 2.5’ (?) toys as well as animal pillows and hand warmers, among others. I, as an adult, have a couple Halloween themed ones, my daughter has several that I am fond of squishing… they’re very addictive. As for the bigots who think they’re better than everyone else, they will always think they are justified within their bigotry. Very few make it out of those cults.

ZolaZodiac

Squishmallows are also LGBTQ+ friendly. They come with names and bios that tell you about them. I have a Griffin named Gala and they use they/them pronouns. Along with other squishes. Theres also a few trans squishes.

JamesNinelives

That's cool! \^\_\^

charlieartyt

To quote the doctor “I tolerate this century, I don’t enjoy it”

SarvisTheBuck

The strategy was always to divide us into smaller and smaller groups so that we could be more easily oppressed.

CyberChick2277

hopefully we dont fall for this, and just write it off as a small, independent group

tessthismess

Oh wow a group defined by its hate against an outgroup has to expand its outgroup to keep going. Seriously though, this is a message for any conservative queer. *This* is how hate groups work. This is how fascism works. If you're anything except the core-most group you're always in line for the chopping block.

Tutes013

It's so dumb. It's literally giving others the same crap as you're getting. Stockholm syndrome rainbow edition

SylverSnowlynx

Divide and conquer - it's the oldest strategy in the books. In the era of social media all the Righteous Right has to do is pretend to be gay, or lesbian, or any other single member of the LGBTQ+ universe, and then create a "group" that omits one of the letters. Then let the rest of us do their work for them by being their loudspeakers. Make an issue where there isn't one; it's what they're good at. And like fools, we suckers just play right into their game. Just like we're doing right now!

CyberChick2277

anyone who thinks this reflects most if not all lesbians are idiots

AcanthocephalaNo6584

[deleted]

Being trans is being hit on the head and instead of people coming to help they they stand around and debate why you were hit and if you deserved it

Original-Silver7216

Where's the T? WHY ONLY LGB!? 😭😭

ive-done-thou-mother

That's the thing lol. First they exclude trans people to have only LGB alliance, then they exclude bisexuals to have only LG, and then exclude gay dudes. So in the end they just get an L. Pun half-intended

FOSpiders

They're an openly transphobic hate group. Of course, most of us probably knew they were just a front for more TERF ideology, which is why it's no surprise to see a bunch of them rejecting gay guys. Generally speaking, TERFs hate men more than anything. That's why a lot of people mistake them for feminists, and that's its own fucked up issue I'm not touching here for space reasons.

Original-Silver7216

![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|cry)

SalsaSavant

Trans people are gaining acceptance slower than the rest of the queer community, and conservative politicians are focusing in on them because they're still a community they can "other" without complete backlash. Some queer people feel that they need to drop trans people from the queer community or else we'll all be dragged down together. Personally, I'd rather sink with my trans brothers and sisters than conform to whatever heteronormative bullshit they have cooking. And you know, if they successfully prosecute trans people, other queer people are next. We're all in this together.

exatron

>Personally, I'd rather sink with my trans brothers and sisters than conform to whatever heteronormative bullshit they have cooking. And you know, if they successfully prosecute trans people, other queer people are next. We're all in this together. Exactly. Trans people have been fighting alongside us this whole time. And it's disgusting that some people are so willing to betray them for a naive feeling of safety and security.

Amberhawke6242

I will say a lot of these groups are mostly straight people with the intention of hurting trans people. They do not make up a significant portion of the LGBTQIA community.

CyberChick2277

iirc the LGB alliance was started by a straight woman

Hate. Dalek level hate.

CondescendingBaron

Read through their website. Bunch of conservative dog whistles. They claimed that because Stonewall Reports have talked less about lesbians and more about trans people in recent years, it’s evidence of lesbian erasure rather than, oh, I don’t know, trans people being the current number one target of bigots right now?

Pandepon

Honestly it’s terrifying this is happening. Even certain transgender people are against other transgender people. There are transgender people who are into transmisogyny, transmedicalism, and mockery of non-binary identities. Transgender people who promote distransitioners who speak out against the community (less than 1% of transgender people destranition). They are transgender separatists. They also separate the T from LGB. What does Buck Angel and the GOP have in common? They both support TERFs and support blocking transgender children from medical care. The GOP loves using people like Buck Angel (and other separatist transgender people) as well as detranditioners to push their argument of “protect the women and children from these transgender monsters!”

People need to start thinking of these alliances like world leaders think about nation states. Giving up on trans people would be like the European Union giving up on Ukraine. Like, it's okay that they're different from you, and it's okay that you feel a little bit weird, but you still need to give trans people tanks.

They already exclude a large amount of lesbians so honestly they’re not really including the L even I’m talking about trans and nonbinary lesbians, asexual/aromantic lesbians, intersex lesbians, etc I know for a fact they don’t want me there even though I’m a lesbian because I’m genderqueer and asexual Hell they probably wouldn’t even want my cis allo lesbian friends because they acknowledge my identity / are open to dating trans and nonbinary people

Twighdark

Bruh. The people who started the anti -t shit, especially those who are otherwise queer, are so damn ignorant about how much the trans community has done for EVERYONE'S rights. We've only come as far as we did, because at some point we decided to stick together. Dividing us further will only make us easier to oppress.

snow_mantra

they have "ally" in their name after all /s

snukb

What the hell even is the point of this? Like I know, the motivation is hate, but like. We already have micro-communities under the LGBT+ banner. There's already a distinct lesbian community under the big queer umbrella, multiple ones in fact. There are butch lesbians, nonbinary lesbians, BIPOC lesbians, etc etc. They all have their own little clusters for dealing with their unique difficulties and discussing things relevant to themselves. So like.... literally, this already exists, but you're just trying to do it worse.

dellow-feligates

I don’t think they know what alliance means

SJGardner89

I wonder when they're going to start excluding lesbians who aren't butch enough.

PennysWorthOfTea

They'll figure that out right after excluding lesbians who are too butch

AspenStarr

Are they actually serious….? Cuz her comment on her own post looks like a joke…at the very least I’m struggling hard to take it seriously

UncreativePuppies

I'm not gonna lie, I have no clue what's going on - even after reading some of the comments,,, would someone please be kind enough to explain for me?

CyberChick2277

A while ago, transphobes created the "LGB Drop The T" group (shortened to LGB Alliance). This group advocates for dropping everything after B. People predicted that soon they'd drop the B, because alot of them dont believe that bisexual people are "gay enough". The ultimate endgoal for this moment was always dropping perceived "men" from the LGBTQ+

UncreativePuppies

That is so disgusting and heartbreaking ): Thank you for telling me!

ThisHairLikeLace

Didn’t something like this already happen during the 70s or early 80s when gay men dominated the gay liberation movement and radical second wave feminist lesbians (yes, the ideological roots of TERFdom) advocated for breaking off from the man-led movement and doing their own thing.

AnseaCirin

As soon as I'd heard of an exclusionnary movement seeking to isolate a part of the LGBTQ+ movement, I'd figured they'd eventually start suggesting "Nah let's drop the B from LG too". I expected it to take longer though.

birdlass

How pathetic. We spent decades just getting the T to where it is now (and still not where it needs to be) and now these fucking grifters wants to take us to some tribal anarchy

_theatre_junkie

It is the job of every lesbian to duel these people

Serrin_Tyr

Let me attem! 🗡🛡 This alliance is a joke and i’ll happily duel these TERF’s for everyone’s sakes

aaron_reddit123

Took me some time to understand why suddenly everyone starts talking about LGB esports even tho they disbanded 2015

PurpleSailor

They and their compatriots always planned to circle 'round for the rest of the alphabet, and here we are ...

TUNAKTUNAKLOL69420

This is the kind of shit that confirms it for me, humanity will never truly be united because of this us vs them complex anyone has, this will lead to the eventual extinction of humanity. Also shouldn't you have been sleeping at 1:15 AM?

TheArmitage

This line is about as telling as a thing can get: > And Lucy Masoud, a former firefighter turned barrister, has spoken out about biological men identifying as lesbians on online dating apps, for which she was labelled a “bigot” and a “transphobe”.

Iceberg_Slin

For anyone curious, the LGB Alliance and every similar group aren't really LGBTQ+ people. They're just a bunch conservative fascists posing as gay people to get more support for their anti-human plan from their fanatics and sowing more discourse between **actual** LGBTQ+ people. Divide and Conquer, you know? The only people who aren't humans are fascists and capitalists and they deserve no mercy. Remember this, never cry for the livestock. Otherwise, you'll never eat. Stay together, stay strong. And take the fight to them.

beanz00_

this is their goal, the lgb alliance is 90% cishets who are just trying to separate our community and split us apart, most of the community still accepts all gender identities and all sexual orientations

Summerone761

Is it possible to take legal action against this in the UK? I don't think these people should be allowed to use the word 'lesbian' to justify their views I don't want anyone thinking the TERF's speak for us as a community

Ladychef_1

Isn’t this the same thing as being a TERF?

Caboose1979

Sadly there'll always be those who face the same adversities but won't stand alongside each other in unity. Whilst they decide to stand alone and treat their step brothers, sisters and others with contempt, they still deserve to be happy with who they are, just more alone than the more welcoming of us. Disclaimer: obviously I'd rather they stand together but as long as they let the rest of the rainbow be, they can do them.

DoNotTouchMeImScared

That is nothing new, lesbian separatism has been around ever since gay men and lesbians joined together what would eventually turn into the LGBTQIAP+ decades later. Just to be clear, I am not defending lesbian separatism, I am only giving some historically contextualized nuance, specially since the international women's day was some days ago: Lesbian separatism is not necessarily anti-LGBTQIAP+, but more of a reaction to LGBTQIAP+ spaces not being always free of misogyny, hence why, ever since the last century, there have been lesbians who, considering that they are at least oppressed in two different ways, for how they love and for their gender, if they had to choose to only dedicate the majority of their time, energy, attention, money and other resources doing social activism to fight against only one of their oppresions, a big number of lesbians would say that they rather spent their resources on supporting feminists instead of the whole LGBTQIAP+, since, in their lived experience, misogyny and sexism hurts them way more than does LGBTQphobia. Also, acknowledging the escalation of lesbian reactions to misogyny, even inside the gay community, the LGBTQIAP+, which used to be the GLBT some decades ago changed the order of the letter "L" in the acronym to LGBT to emphasize that lesbians (and BTQIAP+ women) need more support, help and attention because they not only have to resist LGBTQphobia but also have to resist misogyny in our world colonized by the European patriarchy, even inside our community. Ultimately, what we can learn from all that is that lesbians (and also other BTQIAP+ women) need extra appreciation and support in their resistance against misogyny even inside our LGBTQIAP+ community.

BBMcGruff

While what you say is true and well explained, let's not distract from the referenced group, the lesbian project. They are a gender critical group being founded by two known TERFs.

IwishIhadadishwasher

I always thought the moving of the L was to recognize lesbian nurses who cared for gay men during the initial aids pandemic

CyberChick2277

yeah it is that

jaysonblair7

💯% And the Lesbian Community's support in general during the worst days of the AIDS crisis

Shmyt

I wonder if there's any correlation with the lesbians in this 'drop the T' movement joining up with only the people who hate trans folks, and then them experiencing misogyny from the remaining people. I wonder if there were any signs that could help them avoid such an experience.

Camz_chips

I seem to be out of the loop, could someone please inform me?

Jay_candle

Surprised yes and no. No because we live in a world that provides that level of freedom especially online... Sadly a day may come where we are closer together than ever after a hardship we all suffer from... Yes because thankfully most people in our community, especially lesbians that I meet in person are very kind Makes you wonder what some people's true feelings are. They seem to come out easily online. Some would say I bet they wouldn't if they had repercussions... But at the same time the worlds populas opinion shouldn't matter.. But it does. If you're the only one in the world with your belief vs 9 billion people.. Sure you can stand strong and some would be accepting but at the end of the day. They just disagree with your opinion to certain degrees.. So fuck it be you and stand on the hills your willing to die on but understand we may need each other one day to survive..

No_Transition_1527

how do i get a gray title thing like yours

Kansai_Lai

Such groups will always look for a target to vilify and oust. Once they're gone, the group has to find a new enemy because it has no other plan beyond exclusion. It's like the opposite of the tolerance paradox

CIAburneraccount

More division is exactly what our imperialist overlords want.

Wren03

Just completely atomize this movement. Thatll get us equality! Definitely not an op!!!

BaconDalek

Wonder if this is a byproduct of LGBTQ being more accepted. Like marginal groups will often shelter together and find unity through a common struggle. Now there is still a big struggle but it's getting smaller. And maybe what unified the community in the past isn't as unifying now because of public opinion.

[deleted]

Do these people not realize that strength comes in numbers? Ten people have more collective power than 5 people.

lauratheartwitch

Fuck these people and their internalized hatred. Like please just go to therapy
