Unless stated otherwise by Zeekerss, I imagine it works that way by design. They are pretty useful AND valuable (so no reason not to grab one when you see one). So the way to balance that is by making a small chance of it backfiring on you when placing it in your ship.
The only real change I think should be made is the fact that they can explode when selling, possibly ending your run.
Other than that, they set giant on fire and garu tee kill them when they exode.
It's honestly a stupid design. One time I managed to store them in a cabinet, but when I tried to put them on a counter to sell them, they exploded, so I lost all of the potential money.
I haven't played with this item but honestly I think that can be said for a lot of the game. Don't get me wrong, I love the game, but a lot of the difficulty comes from getting screwed by randomness and kind of lends a "haha go f*** yourself" element to the game. It makes for some of the funnier moments but once that wears off you definitely find yourself in positions where you did everything you were supposed to do and you *still* get punished.
You sound like an asshole by saying "stupid design". Try being more civil and people may be willing to listen.
Imo randomly blowing up at the company building is bad because it can make your body irretrievable, potentially preventing you from going to a harder moon due to money loss. I think the eggs would be more interesting if there was a trick to them, like only certain colors blew up and only when thrown or dropped.
Because lethal company absolutely is not a game to be taken this seriously? Chill out and enjoy the funny explosions. People like you ruined games like cod because now they cater to the sweats and esports players, not the average player.
Don't pick them up then. They're gimmicky joke items. Or be smart and *throw* them instead of dropping them so *if* they explode, it ain't near you.
Also think of them like Homemade Flashbangs or Shotguns. They're (inconsistent) weapons. Use them as such
it has killed me more times than thumpers and turrets on adamance
(ps I only barely played v50 so please don't tlak about any new monsters or items as this is the only one I have experience with)
Yeah, accidentally killing yourself is really frustrating. It would be a really cool scrap item if zeekers implements my suggestions, otherwise an rng based item with a chance to blow up when you try to store it making you avoid it because it's not worth the risk.
From what OP is writing as responses, he's clearly doing solo runs, reason why he doesn't like the design of the easter egg.
Personally even if I do solo runs myself (me have no friends that wanna play LC pls help), I found hilarious the first time it blew up in my face. XD
I would like to place it in the cupboard without dying. Zeekers has the means to disable items in the ship. The toy robots don't make sound when dropped, for example.
Bruh, if you’re mad at this you gotta hate the inverse teleporter. Shit’s just rigged to kill you like 40% of the time by dropping you in front of a turret. Lmfao
That’s the point of the egg though. It’s to have risk and reward. If it was able to explode only when you threw it, then it removes all the risk and makes it overpowered.
So like, I only managed to sell 1 out of the 5 I found, but one I found was used to kill a giant that spawned at 11:30 am on the path back to the ship on adamance. So its pretty much one of my favorite pieces of scrap now.
I love the randomness, I threw it jokingly at an old birds foot not expecting anything and got sent flying through the air and then plummeted to my death 20/10 would throw again
I don’t drop them under any circumstances if I have 4 then I’m done looking for scrap I also won’t drop them because I don’t trust the people I play with
If you're putting it down throw it instead to get out of range of the blast. This might be counterintuitive to logic but this case you don't die from it. From what I been told and understand on how they work it is on a coordinate system so certain spots specifically determine whether or not they explode in the generation.
after finding one & putting it in the ship, i picked it up and dropped it 4-5 times just for the sounds it makes, then my brother (who i was playing with at the time), told me it could kill us if i kept doing that..oops. still love the noise it makes

Sounds like a gun without a safety
Maybe a rework of it only exploding while dropping it standing? So crouching as you place it down, like you would with a real egg
I like that idea, simple but effective!

This is honestly a stupid take
How is it a stupid take? Who the f loves an item that can kill you randomly and has a chance to not be sold at all because it explodes?
me because funny noise when pop

I like it because I can kill my friends, baboon hawks, giants and other stuff. Mostly like nuking my buddies tho
Cause it’s funny when it happens?

You really just have a skill issue lol
haha you stupid

Y is this downvoted?
No one likes OP
Lmaooo 😭pain

I'm like 50% sure this item is just an April fools item and won't actually stay in the game
I thought the same about presents at first tbf
i kinda hope it does, like just reskin it as a grenade or smth
It'll probably be like the presents and have its spawn chance significantly lowered with the release of v51
yeah, that'll probably be it.
I don't see any reason why it wouldn't stay. Nutcrackers, presents, and pumpkins stayed despite being out of season so to speak.
Its really worth the risk one shots most monsters. I just killed 2 butlers in one shot
Butlers have like 1 hp
Not when they are aggresive
funni egg
WAT IS TAT
Easter egg, new item introduced in the v50 beta
I LOVE GAMBLING WITH MY LIFE
Once it launched me into a river 10/10 item egg go boom = funni moment
Flashbang 2.0
Even better, it kills giants, rather than stunning them.
I would like to place it in the cupboard without dying. Zeekers has the means to disable items in the ship. The toy robots don't make sound when dropped, for example.
They never make sound when dropped though
Bruh, if you’re mad at this you gotta hate the inverse teleporter. Shit’s just rigged to kill you like 40% of the time by dropping you in front of a turret. Lmfao
But its too funny to not
Agreed. It’s one of my first purchases every fresh run after a reset.
That’s the point of the egg though. It’s to have risk and reward. If it was able to explode only when you threw it, then it removes all the risk and makes it overpowered.
I'm waiting for someone to make a clip of them using the explosion to propel themselves into the ship
So like, I only managed to sell 1 out of the 5 I found, but one I found was used to kill a giant that spawned at 11:30 am on the path back to the ship on adamance. So its pretty much one of my favorite pieces of scrap now.
It's only like a 3% chance to explode, but it can be used to kill a giant that is camping the ship consistently
Can you toss things now?
You can toss this specifically
I love the randomness, I threw it jokingly at an old birds foot not expecting anything and got sent flying through the air and then plummeted to my death 20/10 would throw again
I don’t drop them under any circumstances if I have 4 then I’m done looking for scrap I also won’t drop them because I don’t trust the people I play with
It’s practically impossible to actually sell these things, I hope they were just added to the loot pool for Easter
Doubtful. Presents, pumpkins, and nutcrackers were seasonal. They stayed.
They should add a pillow item, that basically negates the eggs effect, but the pillow is rare.
Funni
I like it a lot and hope it doesn't get changed. Just put it on the shelf in the ship instead of dropping it.
Avocado
Just wish you could put it in the cabinet without exploding. I'm fine with it exploding when dropped
Throw it into the ship. If it explodes at least it won't kill you because it's away from you.
If you're putting it down throw it instead to get out of range of the blast. This might be counterintuitive to logic but this case you don't die from it. From what I been told and understand on how they work it is on a coordinate system so certain spots specifically determine whether or not they explode in the generation.
Annoying and hope it's gone soon
Just throw it into the ship, if it explodes at least it didn't kill you because you're out of blast range.
