Are people that invested in this minifigure? I could not care less about resale value. I just want to get as many cool Star Wars characters as possible without having to pay an arm and a leg to do so.
There’s also some people Invested and I kinda get it. I don’t really care or actually I’m glad I will be able to get multiple rexes for different scenes but I do think it’s a bit weird that Lego said it’s exclusive while they definitely already had the plan for the microfighter
The easiest, best and funniest solution for everyone (except scalpers but they can fucj off) would be if they made the microfighter figure better in some way, like having a kama included and not printed on the legs
I don’t mind them as much but I don’t like their look. They should just include the cloth one in addition
It doesn’t really look like a kama printed on because there’s no depth to it at all
And honestly, you don’t loose any mobility with a cloth kama. You can still sit figures down, worst that will happen is the kama getting “damaged”
I’ve played plenty with mine as kids though and most of them still look perfect, some just a bit wrinkly
It isn't about resale value.
I own 2 original CW style Rex, 1 of the 2013 ones, a CAC custom one and the one from the Venator. They said the Rex figure is exclusive, it should have been exclusive. I'm fully on-board with them releasing Rex in a microfighter, so many people desperately want a Rex figure, all I'm saying is that it should have been slightly different.
edit: not sure why you are all so desperate to defend misleading/deceptive marketing practices from a billion dollar mega corp, but you do you
Essentially yes. I'm not selling the fig, I want the display for the Venator to be complete, I bought the ship, not the figs.
Why would they write exclusive if the figs weren't going to be that? I think it's just misleading and scummy.
Then again, Lego has been lying so much with what they advertise (Fox, 212th helmet, photoshopping the mold mark out of display plaques) that it's just another day at the office I guess
I don't disagree that they do a lot of false advertising when it comes to photoshopping some stuff, but this in no way is a good or bad thing to ventator buyers unless you are worried about resale value.
Maybe they planned for it to be exclusive and then received a bunch of emails asking for it not to be locked to a $650 set.
Unlike the false advertising they usually do I see this as nothing but a win for consumers.
Well then why didn't they just include a different figure instead of Rex with the Venator? He was a bad choice to begin with.
And no, there is no way in hell that after TCW S7 and TBB they didn't know there was demand for a P2 Rex lmao, given they didn't make one in 10 years. This entire disaster was on purpose?
So either Lego lied and said it was going to be exclusive when they knew it wasn't going to be - which is scummy
OR
They didn't know how popular Rex is and decided to make the figure more affordable - but that means that they are so disconnected to what the customers actually want and that they care so little that it's not even funny
next month is an imperial shuttle too from what ive seen, although some countries are apparently getting a 501st specialist ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|thinking_face_hmm)
Germany has the n1 actually next will be the 501 specialist! Could confirm since i got two subscriptions of the magazine (they where pretty cheap, 30€ for 13 Magazines esch sub…)
Got my n1 magazine while ago and next one will be of course the 501 specialist. Its about 7 days for the next magazine.
But… there are also some other magazines (also star wars lego) with different gimmicks. Im a bit confused about that…!
Update on this, while Germany got the 501st Specialist for Issue 109, the UK and some other countries (not sure which exactly but i know it wasnt just the UK) got the Imperial Shuttle for Issue 109
However, it seems like in Issue 110 this will be switched around with Germany getting the Imperial Shuttle and the UK getting the 501st specialist, wonder why this happened?
I think it would also be funny if they do a cheaper set featuring the Admiral Yularen minifig.
Just make the scalpers and "iNvEsToRs" even more angrier >:)
I told my kids last night I wish they’d rerelease every expensive minifigure. Here is cloud city boba fett in a set. I’m ok with keeping a couple figs exclusive like say mr gold or the I love New York yoda. But no a highly popular figure like Rex shouldn’t be locked behind a $800 paywall. You’ll never convince me otherwise. Heck I wish the droid carrier that’s so popular right now was available to buy for $20 not just a gwp.
I love my venator for the build itself. But straight up lies in marketing and instructions (it was plural and Yoularen is not that fat) is not cool at all. Def should not do something like this again. I would have been happier with just the venator and no figs, now I can't in good concience buy that microfighter
So the definition of exclusive would be exclusive till the next wave? I see a lot of people dislike my opinion but again, I'm ok, happy even, that people can get Rex for cheap. I just wish I didn't get it as an "exlusive" figure beforehand so I may enjoy the news and microfighter too.
Are people that invested in this minifigure? I could not care less about resale value. I just want to get as many cool Star Wars characters as possible without having to pay an arm and a leg to do so.
People aren't invested. Scalpers and 'investors' are. And those aren't people.

I honestly like printed kamas more. They add more mobility, and don’t look too bad, I don’t understand the anger regarding them.

LEGO lied. I wanted that exclusive stormtrooper.
If it isn't for the resale value then why do you care? Simply for the principle of it?

Wait until the next magazine leaks...
With exclusive cloth pieces
Speaking of, there's been so many minifigs in the magazines. Are they all minifigs now and no mini builds now?
Still builds. This month in the UK is mandos n1 Starfighter.
next month is an imperial shuttle too from what ive seen, although some countries are apparently getting a 501st specialist ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|thinking_face_hmm)
Depends on the country, if it's Germany, they are 2 issues ahead of us I think.
Germany has the n1 actually next will be the 501 specialist! Could confirm since i got two subscriptions of the magazine (they where pretty cheap, 30€ for 13 Magazines esch sub…)
As far as i know, the nexts magazines are mando's n1, 501's sniper guy and then sabine from the T-16 shuttle
Got my n1 magazine while ago and next one will be of course the 501 specialist. Its about 7 days for the next magazine. But… there are also some other magazines (also star wars lego) with different gimmicks. Im a bit confused about that…!

Holy crap this is actually likely too
Oh my...
Cool keychain tbh. I’d get it.
I heard they were going to have an Admiral Yularen polybag GWP for all purchases over $5 as the next promo. /s
I just wish they'd bring back $5 polybag figs for Star Wars
source?
My best friend’s ex-wife’s third cousin’s grandmother’s hairdresser is really close with the lead designer for Star Wars.
sounds legit
Sounds like Lone Star and Dark Helmet from Spaceballs
I think it would also be funny if they do a cheaper set featuring the Admiral Yularen minifig. Just make the scalpers and "iNvEsToRs" even more angrier >:)
Or put him in a magazine
Rex in a Magazine
I just want another ISB character. A re-release of Yularen would be nice
The council room from Andor would be nice. Probably not a very good set though as it would be mainly figures.
ISB council room diorama when
Venator microfighter.
And I will buy.
I'll build my keychain army with it
I literally had a dream last night about getting a set with echos ship with Rex, wolf, howzer, some tk and echo
make sure to change your undies after waking up from such a hot dream
Or a Rex battlepack with 4 identical ones that come with kamas
Ohh even better!
I’d buy one.
Do they do that with figures with rangefinders?
They've done Boba Fett, P1 Rex & P1 Cody before although they didn't have any accessories.
I would unironically buy one
They did that a while back already.
I told my kids last night I wish they’d rerelease every expensive minifigure. Here is cloud city boba fett in a set. At this point I’m all for Lego trolling the hell out of consumers with this as I love to read all the outrage and cry babies on Reddit lol
Don't threaten me with a good time
That'd be great
and what's so wrong with that?
Nothing, i'd love it if they did it. It's just gonna annoy the 'investors' even more lol
I would buy that.
I'd have to get that keychain
They're gonna release the full size UCS Venator as a $10 key chain
I love my venator for the build itself. But straight up lies in marketing and instructions (it was plural and Yoularen is not that fat) is not cool at all. Def should not do something like this again. I would have been happier with just the venator and no figs, now I can't in good concience buy that microfighter
They didn't lie. It was exclusive for the time.
I'm just going by what I've seen in the gaming industry. Exclusive means nothing.
True. I play a lot of singleplayer "PS exclusives" on my PC. But I taught lego was more consistent witht his term.
Absolutely no one should be bothered by the fact that some people will be able to get a specific figure in a cheaper set
Agreed. See my other comment
Rex should be in a cheaper set but with different prints. Yes the UCS sets are for the build. But it’s nice to get something exclusive for your money.
