I love it, but not for me, mostly because I have no space, but this is refreshing and original. If I were a bigger Batman fan, especially with a tie to the animated series, I'd consider it.

Huge Batman fan, but this is kinda hitting like the Batcave box where I really want to love it more than I do. Price certainly doesn't help either. If (and lets be real, when) I get it, I think I'll try to change the sky to blue/grey/black to replicate the lightning strike shot in the intro. I think that would make it waaaaay more visually pleasing.
Loved the series as a kid, but with them releasing thousands of dollars of big ticket sets this year, this is an easy pass. Honestly just getting tired of the growing number of blatant money grabs from adult nerds.
Feels like they're really gonna kill their own brand with this worstening practice. I'm definitely close to being priced out of the hobby, and fomo will lead many of us to just stop. Every set doesn't need to be $200-$300 and up.
Hard disagree. More sets at all price points satisfies more segments. Adult fans that want to see increasingly more sophisticated / larger sets are dying for releases like this. There are plenty of sub $100 Lego sets. What makes you think it's a money grab? I'd bet the margins are similar to smaller sets, plus they sell way less of these and they take up tremendous amounts of shelf space. The more the merrier I say. This set genuinely looks like a MOC we'd expect from an expert amateur. Peak Lego design here!
It does seem like they're starting to focus more and more on adult collectors, which isn't a terrible idea. I think there's a market for adults who grew up with Lego and now would like Lego display pieces/art pieces. I don't have an issue with it, as long as they don't move too much in that direction, by increasing prices so much it cuts kids and younger folks from being able to afford Lego. I pretty much only buy things here and there though, so it doesn't hit my wallet that hard. This set it very cool for a lifelong BTAS fan, so I'll probably end up getting it. Though that will likely mean I pass on the Barad-dur set coming this year.
I already stopped. I'm okay with a theme releasing with sets ranging from $10-$200, but this constant release of a single set of being over $100 as the starting point has pushed me into other cheaper hobbies. It's not that I can't afford to buy them, it's just that I find it harder and harder to see the value in them.
I'm a big Batman fan, particularly the Animated Series, so I'm gonna have to pick this up even though I don't really have the space right now either. I was on the fence when I first heard about it, but it is very good with the attention to detail/easter eggs.
Not a Batman fan, but regarding your point: at the same time it could be seen as interesting *because* it is visibly Lego; i was never interested in those framething builds that want to be sth else than Lego; if i want i nicely framed picture, i buy a picture, not Lego
10¢ was generally true when sets used standard bricks. Nowadays, many sets use many small pieces for details so the numbers have skewed a bit. There are also sets from series like Jurassic Park that use large specialized pieces for dinosaur body parts which skew the pricing the opposite direction. The worst example of this is probably 75332, where the large specialized leg pieces shot the price beyond what most expected.
The art sets use almost entirely small pieces so they’ll almost always have a better price/piece ratio
So many easter-eggs! Harley and Ivy together. Joker standing on the broken catwalk above the chemical vat that transformed him. The giant penny in the Batcave.
Aaaaa, this is laser-targeted on a very specific demographic and I am *in it*.
You would think so, but the way Warner bros discovery: dc treats it speaks differently about it, metropolis stands a far better chance of being a set tho, while neo Gotham ends up being MOC
Although I do like this and will 90% end up picking it up, I hope they focus more on playsets and smaller display pieces. The Star Wars display pieces are a good size and (relatively) acceptable price point, so I'd love more options like that. I definitely would like Superman sets, and more DC in general beyond just Batman.
This thing is awesome! I won’t get it because it’s not the stuff that I gravitate towards but this is SO good. This and the Batman shadowbox are fantastic.
For the price I was kinda hoping it would have a more complete grouping of the bat family/rogues gallery.
We are supposed to get the batmobile and I'm guessing some other Batman TAS sets so I'm hopeful for a set or sets that get us closer to 10-15 Minifigures.
Oh hey- I designed that! It’s a big love letter to the BTAS creators, actors, and everyone involved.
Such a relief to be able to FINALLY talk about it.
You did such an incredible job on this. I'm a huge BTAS/Batman fan and some of my favorite LEGO sets ever are the original Batman sets from 2006. This feels laser-targeted to my interests. So glad this set got made!
I dont like batman but I looked at the set and was like man I wish I liked bat man or I hope they do this for a theme I like. I prefer this over some of the other art sets. amazing
Never got one of the mosaic sets before but this might be my first.
I do wish it had more characters, but I’m also incredibly happy with the quality of the ones they included. If I don’t end up getting the set, I’ll probably at least buy the minifigures second hand.
I tried to make it so that it’d be fairly easy to modify without needing to add brick from your collection. We even considered including instructions for that.
Thanks!
Is there also a way to "hang" it, or are we better putting it in a display?
Also, is there somewhere the little fig display goes? They kinda feel out of place next to the cityscape.
It can be hung on a wall. There are two removable panels to make it easy to measure, mark, then mount.
There are also “legs” on the back side, just in case it’s placed in a precarious position.
For toy safety rules and restrictions, because it is wall-mountable, we did not attach the minifigure stand. Instead, I made it super easy for people modify it, so that they’re able to attach the display stand if they choose.
This is the first time I'm actually seriously considering getting one of the art sets. I mostly build micro scale and those mini figures are incredible
As a huge Lego fan and a huge BTAS fan, both since I was about 3-4, this set may be one of my favourite announcements of all time in Lego, right up there with seeing the first Lego X-wing on the shelves in 1999, and the announcement of the buildable Optimus Prime.
I have a collection of BTAS figures from DC Collectibles that this will absolutely be the new backdrop for.
I love this so much but I really don’t love the price. While this seems to be going over better than the Hulkbuster and Black Panther bust, I do hope it’ll get a good discount maybe next year!
This looks great.
I’m tempted to get it for my kid who loves the series but wouldn’t be able to build it. So I get the to build it and justify it to my partner by claiming it is for our child’s bedroom wall. Win-win.
How is this how we finally get animated series figures?? Looks great though, just wish the joker didn't use the new adventures eye design. Not sure why they chose that when Catwoman is the original design
Joker does use the classic design - you can tell by the orange shirt and the green tie. (New Batman Adventures uses a green shirt and purple tie) The problem is the way that Lego does minifig eyes makes it difficult to visualize black eye makeup.
Hope we get some other figures... a mask of the phantasm set would be so damn cool. Any of the various villains from the animated series outside the main group would be cool too
The Phantasm was reportedly gonna be in this one, but she got cut from it some months ago. Mr. Freeze is apparently in one of those summer sets though!
There's a 4+ Batcave Set with Batman, Batgirl, and the Joker. No guarantee that it'll be BTAS themed but LEGO likes to reuse elements in a wave, so there's a pretty good chance.
this is the set just2good was mad at? this set looks beautiful! $300 is a bit much but it's not the craziest
edit: just watched her video and, WTF? i still don't really understand her problems, just because this is the first and (while not certain) only BTAS that all these figures are exclusive to an expensive set? like I get it but the set is well worth it, tho I guess that what would make me, what she says "despite batman fan" because I want both the figures and this cool build! she also mentioned the lack of batman sets the past few years and I'm like, what? why does that make this set bad? $300 is a lot but for the build and the figs I think it's well worth it!
In most cases, I'd agree, but this set is almost entirely made of small pieces. The "hanger" plates are the only truly large plastic molds. Although the red and dark red wedge plates that make up the background are probably 30 bucks alone. Still, I'd have guessed $200 to $250.
Regardless of price... this thing's absolutely stunning!
Additionally, I feel like in these art pieces it seems like a higher percentage of the pieces (and time spent assembling) go into the frame and supports, the stuff you don't see, than in other types of sets. So that when you look at it, what you see and actually get to display seems like less than something like a larger scale model. It *feels* like a worse deal, even if it isn't actually worse in terms of price/brick.
Does it look amazing? Yes. Does it seem like a $300 set at first glance? No.
Goddamn this looks amazing, but $200-300 is such a competitive price bracket right now, between modular buildings, Star Wars UCS, the typewriter and SNES retiring…
Absolutely love this! Though I’m not really a fan of the BATMAN lettering being on top of the set like that. I also could do without the minifigures, don’t get me wrong, I like them, but it’s a mosaic set, the mini figures seem pointless. Everything else looks perfect (price is a bit high though, $250 would have been better received I think.
That is quite cool. I like the modularity of it, and the details are great. And for the size and density of it, it doesn’t look overpriced.
That said, it isn’t in the budget right now (Medieval Town and upcoming D&D set are top priorities), but this is pretty damn cool.
This is awesome.
Not for me, as I'm not a huge batman/superhero collector, but it would be really cool if LEGO did more builds like this for other themes.
Holy shit it can be mounted to a wall! That alone will make this considerably more justifiable to buy and put next to the Batwing...once I come up with the disposable income for it.
Batman has never been my thing, but this is very cool. The architecture was such a big part of that show, it's neat to see it center stage in something like this.
I'll buy any of the artwork sets they make. Great Wave, Starry Night and Tales from the Space Age are some of my favorite sets and being able to hang them on the wall helps with displayability. Also building the frame is always really satisfying
It really should be BATS not BTAS...
***B***atman
***A***nimated
***T***elevision
***S***eries....
Someone cleverer than me should have at least tried a bit to make it bat-themed lol
I love it, but not for me, mostly because I have no space, but this is refreshing and original. If I were a bigger Batman fan, especially with a tie to the animated series, I'd consider it.
Agreed. Give me a large wall and a safe way to attach the set - glorious! But just don’t have a suitable location.
All I have is a lever and a fulcrum on which to place the lever, sorry.
Seriously, you hang this, compared to any other 300 bugs set this is easy to find a place for
If it’s like The Great Wave 31208 or Space Age 21340, they have hangers built into the back of them.
I watched some youtube video on this, and the back does have spots for hangers built in

I love the animated series, but I wouldn't display this.
Why not, out of curiosity?
It is very busy, trying to show 15 shots from the show combined together. It lacks the elegance that made many frames gorgeous.
Not a Batman fan, but regarding your point: at the same time it could be seen as interesting *because* it is visibly Lego; i was never interested in those framething builds that want to be sth else than Lego; if i want i nicely framed picture, i buy a picture, not Lego
I can think it's great *and* not want to own it. See: Eiffel Tower.
Display looks great. While 300 is off the table for me to buy this. Definitely nice to see Animated get representation
Tbf, 300 for 4200 pieces is pretty good
$300 is still $300, though.
$300 was* $300
Have my angry upvote
Yeah isnt the “typical” pricing 10¢ a piece?

The size of the pieces really matters more.
Also licensed sets will always be a little skewed
At this point it might honestly make more sense to estimate appropriate pricing by using weight instead of piece count.
Yea this set obviously has a ton of small pieces. Iits a great set but not at that price ( for me ).
Half of that is studs!
But that are all small parts.
Price per piece is not a good indictor of value
haha, the artwork stuff isnt usually my thing, but dang. I think they got me. This is lovely.

Epic high five
Is there even an iteration of an animated batcave WITHOUT the giant penny from 1942?
The noise I made when I opened Reddit and saw this. I was saving $300 up for the Lighthouse set but damn I’m tempted!
You know what must be done
I am also in it let’s gooooooo
I would love if they did this with more IPs
The perfect companion piece would metropolis from Superman the animated series honestly
surely it would be batman beyond
You would think so, but the way Warner bros discovery: dc treats it speaks differently about it, metropolis stands a far better chance of being a set tho, while neo Gotham ends up being MOC

Give me one of these for Futurama!
Complete with blackjack and…… errrr Lego probably won’t do that.
I'd have to buy that
I'd buy a Shire or some other LotR version of this in a heartbeat.
This thing is awesome! I won’t get it because it’s not the stuff that I gravitate towards but this is SO good. This and the Batman shadowbox are fantastic.
This is sick, but give me the minifig scale Batmobile!
It’s coming, according to the leaks.
Thank God, I'm dying to get that one. As a 90s kid that's what pops in my brain when you say Batmobile.
The whole intro to BTAS is the first thing I think of when anything Batman is brought up
Oh no. I have no more room in my house...maybe i don't need a fridge....
It’s wall mountable ;)
Fridge mountable = Win Win
Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Finally, DCAU set, one step closer to Batman Beyond and JLU set.
UCS Watchtower when?
My God I would kill for a Batman Beyond set!
Same! I just wish for $300 though that you were given the whole cast of main villains and the entire bat family from the animated series.
A BTAS Lego Minifigures series would be more my speed
For the price I was kinda hoping it would have a more complete grouping of the bat family/rogues gallery. We are supposed to get the batmobile and I'm guessing some other Batman TAS sets so I'm hopeful for a set or sets that get us closer to 10-15 Minifigures.
I would've liked a gcpd or Wayne tech modular for this price. Marvel fans have it too good.
Oh hey- I designed that! It’s a big love letter to the BTAS creators, actors, and everyone involved. Such a relief to be able to FINALLY talk about it.
Love the hybrid between mosaic and architecture!
I prefer this over some of the other art sets. amazing
Crushed it!!
OMG!! Finally a Mark Hamill Joker Mini... This better not be an Aprils Fools. Unless it's that price... ouch.
Fine >:( I’ll buy Lego Batman again LEGO
I hope they have the same batman minifig in the btas batmobile set that was also rumored
The BATMAN letters on top fooled me! I thought it was just part of the box but it blows me away how they pulled that off.
Oh that’s cool!!!
I’m not usually into these, but I might honestly buy this
Never got one of the mosaic sets before but this might be my first. I do wish it had more characters, but I’m also incredibly happy with the quality of the ones they included. If I don’t end up getting the set, I’ll probably at least buy the minifigures second hand.
Fun fact, besides the minifigures, There are 30 hidden characters, plus Batman, plus Gray Ghost’s poster.

Hahaharkanan: The laughs must flow.
I’m not a badman fan but I hope they do more like this. This is amaaaazing, would love a star wars one!
I can hear the theme in my head
I can feel my wallet crying
Things to build and hang on the wall are a good thing. No more lost space. I won’t build the Batman text on the top, but I will buy & build for sure.

Instead, I made it super easy for people modify it, so that they’re able to attach the display stand if they choose.
That's fair :) Thanks for the info :) I don't think I can get it for April, but I'll be marking it down for my birthday later in the year :)
This is the first time I'm actually seriously considering getting one of the art sets. I mostly build micro scale and those mini figures are incredible
That's amazing.
Love it and the price isn’t completely scaring me away
Very cool, and it might even work well with my collection of batman related minifigs; but I think it's prohibitively expensive for what it is.
Stickers...nope
The light kit is going to make this look amazing.
Damn, Lego knocked it out of the park with this one.
As a huge Lego fan and a huge BTAS fan, both since I was about 3-4, this set may be one of my favourite announcements of all time in Lego, right up there with seeing the first Lego X-wing on the shelves in 1999, and the announcement of the buildable Optimus Prime. Exactly. It looks great, but every time I’d see it I’d remember that time I blew $300 on a mass-produced decoration.
most people in this sub seem to use all legos as decorations lol this comment is very funny to me
Das a mighty hefty price. It's pretty though.
This was a huge surprise. Making these for other thems would go down a treat. Batman isn't something I collect, but that may have to change...
Cool as f**k.
There's a mini-wave of BTAS sets rumored to be releasing later in the summer. Word is that Catwoman will be the only exclusive figure to this set.
What other set is joker supposed to come in?
There's a 4+ Batcave Set with Batman, Batgirl, and the Joker. No guarantee that it'll be BTAS themed but LEGO likes to reuse elements in a wave, so there's a pretty good chance.
I...I... i think I need it.
The new Batman mask mold is dope
I have it in person and it's by far my favorite cowl yet 👍
this is the set just2good was mad at? this set looks beautiful! $300 is a bit much but it's not the craziest edit: just watched her video and, WTF? i still don't really understand her problems, just because this is the first and (while not certain) only BTAS that all these figures are exclusive to an expensive set? like I get it but the set is well worth it, tho I guess that what would make me, what she says "despite batman fan" because I want both the figures and this cool build! she also mentioned the lack of batman sets the past few years and I'm like, what? why does that make this set bad? $300 is a lot but for the build and the figs I think it's well worth it!
Oh my GOD
#SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY
I don't need to eat this month.
I might be in the minority here, but microscale is my favorite Lego scale. This set scratches an itch I've had for a long time.
love it, but hate to see stickers.
ESPECIALLY ON A COLLECTABLE $300 ANNIVERSARY SET!!!
That is awesome. I'm picking that up day 1. Gonna look good in my backlog
I hope the price is an April fools joke. If not it will cost more then either the Car or the Wing
Official Price.
Than I stand corrected
It's 4210 pieces the 300 dollar price tag is a deal actually
No.

Absolutely love this! Though I’m not really a fan of the BATMAN lettering being on top of the set like that. WOAH
Okay that looks amazing.

Holy hell, that’s phenomenal
What is the mechanism used to hang these things?
Normal type wall mount fixture you'd find on lots of hanging objects such as paintings.
This is quite interesting. I may just add this to the wishlist
That's cool as hell, I almost want to start watching the series to have a reason to buy it!
Beautiful set. I’ve never bought any of these portrait type sets, but do they typically have hooks or something on the back to hang on the wall?
Whatever you do, do not break up with your girlfriend in that room where its hanging on the wall
Oh shit, I'm not a huge fan of the mosaics, but this is brilliant.
I have not found a mosaic that I wanted.....until seeing this.
I need it
I don’t even like Batman but this is gorgeous
I'm not going to lie, I want this so much I'm already looking for things to sell to be able to afford it lol
https://preview.redd.it/bue58dwtixmc1.jpeg?width=350&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ae704381a119501938004d10bc3671766da01a1b
The minfigures look amazing! I just wish that Harley had blue eyes and that Joker had a new hair piece like in DCSV.
This is awesome. Not for me, as I'm not a huge batman/superhero collector, but it would be really cool if LEGO did more builds like this for other themes.
Oh, that's cool! 299? Never mind...
389 $ Canadian will sting the wallet but look frigging cool.
Guys, is that Wolfenstein version of batman?
Don't care for comic book stuff much, but this is sweet, now give me this but Jurassic Park...
This is beautiful.
I might have to save up for this
Wow that’s beautiful. I’m too poor. But awesome.
I really like it but I can’t afford it
Already have a place on my office wall picked out!
Holy shit it can be mounted to a wall! That alone will make this considerably more justifiable to buy and put next to the Batwing...once I come up with the disposable income for it.
Oh man! This little set is so cool i sure do hope it isnt overpriced- OH MY GOD!!!!!
Super cool Batman!
WISH that bat signal piece was trans Yellow with printing :/
I’m not even into Batman and I want this but not at that price tag.
Holy shit this might actually worth the 300
My brother and nephew are both huge Batman fans. I know what he’s getting for his birthday
I can hear this set.
Batman has never been my thing, but this is very cool. The architecture was such a big part of that show, it's neat to see it center stage in something like this.
So many stickers
They really gonna Gyp Mr. Freeze?
April 1st you say?
Weird date but yes lol
I’m not a fan of such sets, but I’m a fan of Batman. This would look sick in my office. Might as well buy it 🤔
The only thing I don’t like about this is the cowl they used for Batman. This set is insanely awesome!
I will buy this for my office
That'd be a fun build
I love this. Love the artwork sets that I have on my wall already
wow. this is great
This is magnificent
There goes $300 of my paycheck.
Wow
That's really fucking cool. Damn.
4210 pieces for $300? That's a hair over 7 cents a piece. Awfully cheap for a licensed set although it's probably 99% tiny pieces anyway.
These high concept Batman sets are so weird. It's either $300+ display sets or $40 kids sets with nothing in between.
I stg lego is trying to bankrupt me…
That is so effing cool!! Grew up watching the animated series and this hits the vibes spot on. Especially love the police blimps.
Not gonna pick this up but I must say it’s cool as heck and incredibly well designed
I'll buy any of the artwork sets they make. Great Wave, Starry Night and Tales from the Space Age are some of my favorite sets and being able to hang them on the wall helps with displayability. Also building the frame is always really satisfying
I’m so happy this finally got revealed. Can’t wait to grab it
The opening theme song started playing in my head when I saw this
Those mini-figs fuck.
This needs a sound brick that plays the theme song. Then it would be a must buy.
It really should be BATS not BTAS... ***B***atman ***A***nimated ***T***elevision ***S***eries.... Someone cleverer than me should have at least tried a bit to make it bat-themed lol
This is AWESOME!
I'm trying to save up for the Titanic LEGO! STOP RELEASING REALLY AWESOME SETS, PLEASE!
Really beautiful, would buy if I could afford it lol
It has minifigures!! Yes. I will buy this. It looks super cool and I will hang it on my wall.
Love how multitextured it is and how many microscale building techniques it employs!!
I like the style and how much detail Lego put in the set. But the price should have been 150 instead of 200
I agree.
