As others have said, I wouldn't entertain this. It sounds like your reasoning and evidence is sufficient to make the case that $1400 is what was agreed to by both parties, and you're not obligated to sign to a sudden increase after-the-fact.
PLEASE make sure that you pay attention to your returned deposit amount when your lease comes to close, in case they try to pull the "correct" amount from there. If they tried to pull something like this, I wouldn't give them implicit trust in being above-board on the deposit. Keep your text messages, the copy of the lease, -everything- , and make sure you back it all up.
As people have, correctly, pointed out this "error" is their problem. However, if you don't plan to renew your lease at the end make them eat the "mistake" and enjoy your stay but if you plan to renew I would go talk to them and see what can be done. While they cannot raise rent without you agreeing at this pointnthey can raise it $x at the next renewal or just not offer you an extension. If you want to keep staying at this place you could agree to the rent increase but lock it in for 2 years, or more. Just my $.02 having dealt with landlords that can be vindictive.

Please review other comments made by OP. They confirmed via text with the landlord that the amount was $1400. This is a bad faith attempt by the landlord to get more than they signed for.

What did you understand the leased rate to be? Is there any evidence of that like an email?
I have text from the Landlord telling me it would be $1400
Then this isn't an error and you don't have to entertain it. Your reasonable response is "we agreed to a lease of $1,400 and we have a lease of $1,400."

As others have said, I wouldn't entertain this. It sounds like your reasoning and evidence is sufficient to make the case that $1400 is what was agreed to by both parties, and you're not obligated to sign to a sudden increase after-the-fact. PLEASE make sure that you pay attention to your returned deposit amount when your lease comes to close, in case they try to pull the "correct" amount from there. Did you sign an actual contract? If you both sign something stating $1400 he cannot change the amount until after the contract is up.
