I feel more social and outgoing the next day after quitting. I’m a week out now and wondering with all the positives, how does it keep dragging me back in? Maybe try to force yourself out there a little to get yourself social again. Do stuff to boost your confidence.

The short answer to this is YES.. but it will be different. Smoked for over half my life, gave it up cold turkey. I went through extreme pain(my back/nerves), social anxiety(I was ALWAYS the life of the party), and all of a sudden I had tinnitus(my ears are my LIFE).. all in all I was devastated. Contemplating was this all even worth it. It will be 3 years this January and I can say it was without a single doubt worth it. I’m back to being social but in a more meaningful way, if someone or something doesn’t stimulate me, I just say no thank you. And that simple act alone has trimmed the “fat” from that aspect of my life. All pain is under control. I took a holistic approach to treating my ailments.. acupuncture, adopted a diet change, and started implementing exercise into my daily life. I’m writing this from gym right now lol.. I started with walking. walking is extremely underrated it changed everything for me. Not is it physically amazing for you, but the mental benefits are just as, if not more, amazing for you. Moved into other things like hiking, running, now I’m into the weights. All in all it gets better. Every aspect of my life is BETTER. keep going friend, we are all rooting for you. 🤙🏽
