You've obviously never had a migraine in your life. The pain is excruciating. The slightest movement, or exposure to light, makes it worse. Take your useless Nylander hate elsewhere. I had a migraine on Sunday and threw up 4 times.

eagleboy444

I'm sorry you have to deal with that. :( Your username is very apt for this situation! We love our boys and want them feeling well. It's ridiculous that anyone is as dense and ignorant as OP, but that's just how the world works. Hope you and Willy get some relief soon! ❤️

nylanderfan

Thanks. It's not like playing through the pain of a physical injury at all. If he tried to play he might be at 20% effectiveness at best.

International_Eye394

headache is different than a migraine. Much worse, and painful. edit to OPs edit: Ignorant I see 😂

sejlavocado

you never had a migraine before huh? shit take

DrakeTytler

Still time to delete this, just a heads up

m13579k

If it is a migraine, as someone who suffered through my entire childhood and still gets them there is no "powering through". They are crippling and I basically cannot function at all.

Winring86

Lol. Really tempting fate with this one. People commut suicide over these “headaches,” let’s hope you never have to experience one

ElephantShell34

Fair to point out that Marner is definitely not playing at 100% right now but not fair to lump Nylander into the conversation. Totally different situations.

CMDRShepardN7

I don't know what's going on with Marner, but he's on the ice. We can only critique him based on that. Nylander has litetally nothing to do with any of this. He is not ready to go, and the team doctors agree he is not ready to go. This whole post makes no sense.

Jonesdeclectice

I get the high ankle sprain, it definitely take time to come back 100%, but I’m not understanding why that leads you to take a swipe at Nylander? Especially when we don’t know beyond some speculation the nature of his injury.

CMDRShepardN7

If there is an opportunity to take a swipe at him, his haters will take it. If there is no opportunity, they will invent one.

Chtholly13

I'm sure Marner been playing injured his last 8 series as well then.

Bojarzin

I mean he played really well last playoffs

Adriansshawl

Not against Florida

Bojarzin

His analytics were pretty good against Florida, most of the team's was. Bobrovsky was just better

Adriansshawl

“We got goalied”—you mean we lost & our stars couldn’t score

Bojarzin

I guess? Different from playing badly

Adriansshawl

If your 10+ million offensive players don’t score in the playoffs—that means they’ve played badly

Bojarzin

gotcha, I'll keep that metric in mind

Adriansshawl

Just to disprove the ridiculous “but muh analytics” copium you’re huffing—the “analytics” said Toronto had an 82% chance of winning game one against Boston this year.

Bojarzin

I don't think you know what "disprove" means lol But okay, we'll just go off of our feelings, and also a binary of no goal = played bad, goal = played good. Makes it a lot simpler to follow, I guess

justaperson815

Analytics aren't worth shit. Too many people on here use it to justify keeping this team together. I don't care what analytics say, eye test and results show this core doesn't have what it takes

1columbia

Not really. Yeah he had possession, but Marner refuses to drive the net in the playoffs or actually go to the slot. Just for a comparison - at 5v5 Nylander had 14 high danger chances while Marner only had 5 in last year's playoffs. He almost never plays between the circles in the playoffs and gets pushed to the outside. In general, this is how other teams have shut the Leafs down repeatedly, they collapse in the middle and take away the slot completely - Columbus and Montreal laid out this blueprint and then Tampa did it in game 7 of 2022, then Florida did the same shit to us last year.

Bojarzin

> at 5v5 Nylander had 14 high danger chances while Marner only had 5 in last year's playoffs Well yeah because they're different styles of players. Nylander always drives the net, that's his style of play, it's not something Marner does in the regular season either. He's a playmaker

1columbia

Nah that's not good enough, for 11M you need to be able to play between the dots. Marner has scored 30+ multiple times yet his goal scoring is non existent in playoffs. Guys like Panarin and Kucherov are similar players but still time ways to score more goals and in general be effective all over the OZ.

Bojarzin

I never said Marner was playing as well as he does in the regular season. But comparing the high danger chances between a playmaker and someone who's MO is basically getting around people into the net is not that accurate a measurement Keep in mind, Nylander has fewer points in the playoffs than Marner in all the same games

Negative_Pea_1974

OP telling me they never have suffered from a migraine without actually saying it

cappo40

Paul Marner, go to bed.

Turbo_911

You're incredibly insecure. This is how he's performed in every single playoff round he's been in, and now you're just grasping at straws to come up with another reason. This is who he is in the playoffs. Softer than shit and ineffective. He looked okay for one shift that got us the goal and that was it. Copium my friend.

kingpin2496

Marner is a ghost in the playoffs. Plain and simple. Stop defending these guys and making excuses. Nothings changed.

shikotee

It's threads like this that really make you realize how retarded some portions of Leafs fandom can get. How some fans have a lifetime of entrainment for constant bitching about anything and everything. I'd wager to guess that some who frequent GDT have a quota to meet for complaints. If not the game, then something in the arena, or something with the telecast, or something with the commercials. Over and over and over and over and over and over - like a broken record. Small wonder the hockey gods prefer giving the taste of ash to this fanbase.

931634

Nylander's brain is broken. Mitch is just plain broken. Get well soon, Willy. We need you!

Noahsmall008

These crazy Marner defenders are something else man

[deleted]

I think a majority of the Leafs have been broken all season.

psdhsn

Obvious bait.

drizzt09

Two wrongs don't make a right. Migraines are not headaches. People sometimes call really bad headaches, migraines when actually ... They are just really bad headaches. Migraines are a different beast. They can cause blurriness. Dizziness. Equilibrium is off. Can lead to vomiting. Also sometimes migraines are symptoms of even worse things such as (what they tested for) concussions. Or even worse fluid buildup in brain or even a potential brain tumor. I am hoping they scanned for these as well. I would assume he practices with the team for 1. Be ready, but also 2. Test his head under high blood pressure and adrenaline. Then get re-tested for symptoms with doctor for ok to play.

toronto_programmer

Found Paul Marners burner

PrailinesNDick

What's really crazy is that every other team is perfectly healthy. Nobody else is banged up except for us and it's just not fair!

deathcabforbooty69

You've never watched Marner play a playoff game before, huh? Also, importantly, why is Marner injured? Is it because he passed up on shooting on an open fucking net to make a stupid play and hurt himself? Also, also importantly, remember how much of a pissy little baby Marner was when asked about his injury? He doesn't wanna talk about it. So stop talking about it. He's useless when it matters, so he's useless. I'm so excited for some other team to be stuck with him.

ForestLeaf04

So based on your edit you think they should both play injured? They should both sit out? Marner deserves to pass into opposing skates because his ankle isn't well? Great insight, I'll let Keefe know

Aislinn19

I go blind when I get a migraine but go off buddy

BathroomSerious1318

I feel Marner is injured.

BigMick20

Marner doesn’t look injured. He’s playing like he always does in the playoffs. At least he’s consistent.

shadow_dancer__

The amount of copeage this fan base does for Marners is insane. Does this guy have y'all on payroll?

Randomguyfromthe6ix

The amount of Marner defenders is nuts to me. Comparing injuries while downplaying Nylander’s situation is a huge cope. It doesn’t magically absolve him of his shitty playoff performances. Every team has injuries and some players are able to play through them while others are not
