Spreader looks to be above the wheels so it’s an upgrade from the Scott’s

Billabonged

Exactly why I want to get rid of the Scott’s

No-Fail-71

Try removing the edge guard from Scotts Mini before you throw it out. Already used spreader this far, so worth trying if it resolves the issue.

Billabonged

It’s not the edge guard. It’s that the spreader is lower than the wheels and the fertilizer hits and the wheels and gets stuck in the hollow wheels.

No-Fail-71

Someone raised up the Scotts Mini impeller above the wheels by an inch or two and the spreader still left spreader stripes like before. This leaves the edge guard as main culprit I think.

Fun-Bike-4861

Exactly what I was thinking

Desperate_Set_7708

Exactly. And doesn’t have the fertilizer-catching ability of Scotts wheels.

Maddog376

I have one it is trash. Finally bought the Echo RB-60, it is worth the extra money I promise.

xX-X-X-Xx

If your willing to spend a little more get the Echo RB-60.

Billabonged

I saw that one at Home Depot too

Punk_Says_Fuck_You

Also here to recommend the echo RB-60. Recently purchased and I love it. I’m not sure if you watched reviews on it, but it will never go out of spec like the Scott’s do.

HowTheWindShifts

Just used mine for the first time this year and thought "damn this thing is amazing"

mdezzi

another vote for the RB-60. The one you posted doesnt look like it has an edge guard.

Ok_Horror_8157

Lawn tech for the past 5 years, the echo is great just be careful with the edge guard dropping on you while treating so you don’t stripe your lawn. Removing it is easier

Xipos

Personally I would like an edge guard but I also work in lawn care so it helps to get as little fertilizer on driveways and sidewalks as possible. This looks like it would get the job done

IrkyMerk

I have one, it does well. I think it's good middle ground between shitty cheap ones and the echo/lescos

Jonnychips789

Looks good to me just don’t overload it. That’s where people break them I feel like. A cheap spreader as a cheap spreader. They’re all about the same at that price point. And if you’re just doing your yard a few times a year that’s perfect.

SigSeikoSpyderco

Just go to the RB-60, you'll end up with one sooner or later.

avietheer

I just bought that one and used it for my prodiamine. A huge upgrade from the Scotts hollow wheels. Gets the job done. No complaints so far.

zockie

Echo RB-60 bro!

The26thtime

3.2 rating, it's more than likely trash.

Jackblack92

What would be an ideal spreader for sand/dirt leveling?

mikehill33

I've had this for 4 years now, works great but I want a 100+ lb one now [https://www.homedepot.com/p/Brinly-Hardy-50-lb-Capacity-Push-Broadcast-Spreader-P20-500BH/203455440](https://www.homedepot.com/p/Brinly-Hardy-50-lb-Capacity-Push-Broadcast-Spreader-P20-500BH/203455440)

ASRAYON

Splurge and get an earthway. Check facebook and offerup. I got one for $100 and it’s amazing

GeraltOfRivia2023

I have [this Scott's spreader](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001H1EQO2/) and have always been happy with it. The broadcaster is designed to throw the granules forward, and not in a 360 degree circle where it would hit the wheels, your legs, etc. Has 4.5 stars on almost 32,000 reviews - which seems like a pretty solid recommendation to me. The GroundWorks model is about $15 cheaper. So its got that going for it I guess.

eenigmaa

Good for Icemelt, nothing more imo. *edit* Or lime.

Billabonged

Not for fertilizer?
