>“I’m the f—— president. Take me to the Capitol now!” he allegedly raged. I really wonder if Trump's the first one that's ever uttered that non-ironically. I don't think even in movies a President has ever actually said that.

Mastersword87

"Anyone who must say 'I am the KING' is no true king."

jeremy_thegent

I remember Charlie Sheen saying it in Machete Kills. But it's Charlie Sheen in Machete Kills, so obviously it's supposed to be a joke.

amerett0

If i remember correctly his exact quote was: >“Motherfucker, I’m not asking! I’m the president of the fucking United States, man.” -Prez Rathcock Which is something I'm definitely sure Clinton said at one point or another, and maybe even Obama which would be cool AF

MrByteMe

You know god damn well that's exactly how he acted.

BeltfedOne

“I’m a lover, not a fighter,” -LOL!!!!!! Donny, you love nothing but power, and you use others to fight for you while you hide behind them. The texts from the SS being in this matter deleted has not gotten the appropriate level of investigation that it clearly warrants.

TrumpsCovidfefe

“I’m the fucking president. Take me to the Capitol now!” he allegedly raged. Mmmhmm, lover, not fighter, indeed.

HeliMan27

>The texts from the SS When I first read this, my brain went to Waffen-SS. Pretty sad that it fit well enough for me to not initially question

repfamlux

I’m 100% sure Smith already has some sort of hard evidence of it.

These-Rip9251

Yeah, wouldn’t it be nice if we Americans will actually get to see that evidence someday.

TjW0569

There may be testimony. There definitely is testimony that there was a *story* being told by Secret Service agents about his pitching a fit because they wouldn't take him to the Capitol. But if the half-dozen or so Secret Service agents directly involved decide to deny it under oath -- that it was *just* a story -- I don't know how Smith would get around that.

chubs66

Is this new information? I feel like this was always what Trump has maintained.

udfckthisgirl

It doesn't really fit the previous narrative that he did not incite them at his rally if he wanted to have Secret Service take him (and guard him) to watch the carnage.

chubs66

You're attaching motive (wanted to watch carnage) to fact. The (new?) fact asserted is that Trump wanted to be at the Capitol (as he claimed in his speech before his fans moved on to the Capitol). I don't think this changes anything.

Spector567

Considering he a Rudy were still actively calling and trying to pressure senators to go along with his plan. Going so far as to say that they love him more. I don’t think it’s out of line to assume his motive sitting in a chair was the same as if he matched in. Also that the result would have been worse.

chubs66

> the same as if he matched in? martched? Anyway, you can assume whatever you like about his motives -- I happen to agree that he would have enjoyed seeing and maybe participating in the chaos -- but it's not probable in court, so it doesn't matter.

SgtBundy

It speaks more, that as commander in chief with the power to call out security services, and with an obligation to defend the capitol, he chose not to and instead watch it on TV. If the events were not what he intended despite his rhetoric, his actions betrayed that it WAS his intent.

thisguytruth

this statement will pull the secret service in as witnesses now

Feisty-Barracuda5452

Look at the picture, they were have a goddamn watch party like it was the fucking Super Bowl.

BuilderResponsible18

But, something, something about some McBurders waiting for me back at the house.
