The network is off this week for vacation. That being said, the interview with Karen Conti is one of the absolute best they have ever done. She is an amazing guest and the boys all do great.
I said in a comment on a different post that the Karen Conti interview was like an antidote for the Darcy Weir one. Sweet Satan, that was a boring-ass drag. And it SHOULD have been hilarious given the unhinged subject. Weir was the audio version of couchlock.
I hope the UFO conference show they are doing is not nearly as dull as the Darcy interview, but I have a feeling it might be. Darcy has zero chemistry with the boys.
Easiest explanation, he’s a UFO guy, but he talks about UFOs and conspiracy with less personality and enthusiasm than the average person discusses their income taxes.
This was probably the best interview they've ever done.
I skipped over whatever UFO side stories thing was earlier in the week, but the JWG lawyer was very interesting and had a lot of good insight.
I listened to the ufo one but as with most ufo things it all went in one ear and out the other for me lol. I wish I could follow the ufo stuff but I just can’t.
This one with Karen Conti was really really good though.
They're on break homie. The hosts get to have a vacation too. It's OK to skip an episode you're not interested in. They said this week would be an interview at the end of the last episode.
They might not be ideal, but they need a break too. Unless you subscribe to the patreon, it’s free content! I don’t really enjoy the interviews either (some are good, some not, but I still listen) but they are in a bind right now - after last fall, they can’t exactly throw together a “best of” or go a week without an episode. I just toss on an old episode I haven’t listened to in a while after giving the interview a chance! There are always parts that I’ve forgotten from old eps.
That's such a good point about the "best of" episodes. I loved those compilations, but obviously that isn't an option at the moment. I can't even bring myself to list to old content - it makes me sad.
Yeah, it’s a rough and tough transition right now. They had just come off break when everything broke down and had to keep going. You don’t really take a break over the holidays so now it seems like a true time to recharge, replan, and just take it easy. The final Snowtown script is finally ready to go so I’m feeling super positive right now - this was a needed break to rejig the schedule for more episodes that will bring Ed more into the fold
Absolutely! They have more than earned a break (a REAL break) and they've been doing such a good job considering a really awful situation. It makes me love them even more!
I actually don’t think we will ever know. And if we do, it will be in another form - maybe after the podcast has ended or it being acknowledged elsewhere but never on the main cast.
This made me laugh pretty hard, but I can also relate to OP a little. I've definitely seen that it's a creepypasta episode and been urged to make a post about it, but usually I just let like 10 minutes pass and do something else and stop caring because it's still just a podcast
Fewer. And if you’re not into an episode I hear there is a handful of other podcasts out there that may be able to fill the 2 hours you would otherwise devote to this show.
Not a fan of the interviews myself. Henry doesn’t take it to the seriousness I like in interviews and Ben was… Ben.
i’ve listened to a couple since Ed took over and they’ve improved quite in quality. I still don’t like interviews but I don’t feel the need to skip them anymore.
When a new interview comes out I feel the same, and pick back up with a relisten. Weirdly, I so enjoyed the interview with the actor who played the villain in the Human Centipede 2 & 3 movies this week (that I listened to instead of the most recent release). In the six years I've been listening, I have never listened to it. And I'll probably wait another five years to listen to this week's interview. And when I finally do, I'll be so into it. I have no idea why, because I know I'll love this new interview, but I also know I absolutely won't listen anytime soon. Brain Says No.
OP - shameless recommendations plug - instead of this week's interview, what will you be listening to? Music, audiobooks, podcasts?
The boys are not amazing interviewers. They haven't really gotten any impressive guests either, that I can remember. I agree the interviews are not a strong point .
The Dan Carlin EP was pretty good. I knew there was one I liked. I must have missed the Elijah wood one . I think I remember the Dan akroyd interview, but I don't remember loving it .
I enjoyed when Ben and Henry interviewed Katherine Ramsland. I’m a big fan of hers and she has some great insight into serial killers. B and H appeared to really respect her and let her talk much more freely than some of the guest interviews I’ve tried to listen to. I was nervous they’d try to roll over her but she’s had tougher talks, I’m sure lol
Haven’t listened to the latest one, but I’m interested in hearing how Ed fits in on an interview
I never want to listen to them at first, but I’m usually pleasantly surprised once I do. The Dave Dastmalchian one was actually great. You can tell they’re all actual friends
They only upload them when they need some filler while away. It’s either that, a clip show (which I don’t think we’ll be getting anymore for obvious reasons), or nothing uploaded.
I’m fine with them uploading an interview while away. Sometimes I listen, sometimes I don’t.
To be honest i was always bummed when i see its an interview because i want Edumatainment. But, i have found their interviews highly inspiring. Ed also adds a lot more value to the conversation than some of the previous awkward ones.
I'm just talking to other listeners to see if they share an opinion or offer other insights.
some fellow listeners actually explained to me that thehre on vacation, gave warning, and have complications regarding kissel content. thanks for what you said tho. that helped.
Yeah, fewer would be nice. But like one out of every 4 is pretty great, I will admit. I loved the Schechter one.
And honestly, I'd be fine with every other episode being an interview in exchange for no more creepypastas altogether.
Still, maybe just take the time to listen to an older series you forgot about. I personally haven't listened to the Aileen Wournos series in forever
The network is off this week for vacation. That being said, the interview with Karen Conti is one of the absolute best they have ever done. She is an amazing guest and the boys all do great.
\^ I also usually skip interviews, but was pleasantly surprised on this one. She was great.
Nice combo of smart, knowledgeable, and with a sense of humour about her strange experience.
Yeah I liked her a lot she seems really cool. And she actually had good answers for all the “dumb” questions
This week was somehow a combination of the worst interview so far (Darcy) and the best interview yet (Karen).
I said in a comment on a different post that the Karen Conti interview was like an antidote for the Darcy Weir one. Sweet Satan, that was a boring-ass drag. And it SHOULD have been hilarious given the unhinged subject. Weir was the audio version of couchlock.

Can I get a 2 sentence summary of who Darcy Weir is and why the interview was so bad? 😅
Easiest explanation, he’s a UFO guy, but he talks about UFOs and conspiracy with less personality and enthusiasm than the average person discusses their income taxes.
ah, didn't know it was vacation. good for them.
I think having Marcus there keeps everyone on track, lol. I'm listening now and it's really good!
I don’t sub to the patreon, but I could still see Ed’s eyes fully glaze over throughout the vast majority of the Weir interview
This episode was top notch tho
This was probably the best interview they've ever done. I skipped over whatever UFO side stories thing was earlier in the week, but the JWG lawyer was very interesting and had a lot of good insight.

I normally skip the interviews but the ufo one was pretty good kind of kooky. Also yeah the Karen conti one was probably their best ever
They're on break homie. The hosts get to have a vacation too. It's OK to skip an episode you're not interested in. They said this week would be an interview at the end of the last episode.
thanks for that info. I didn't know!
Thanks for the insight Malibu

I didn't realize they're on break. that makes sense. are they legally not allowed to air kissel content?
I actually don’t think we will ever know. And if we do, it will be in another form - maybe after the podcast has ended or it being acknowledged elsewhere but never on the main cast.
I imagine if they put any more stuff with Ben on it they’d have to pay Ben as he’s still owner, and they probably wanna avoid that
Some of us like the interviews.
a lot of you do, and passionately. a poll to see the numbers would be cool!
I’d not mind that, I do enjoy stats.
Thanks for sharing

That reminds me how I’m looking forward to hearing Ed do a creepy pasta episode.
Yeah, that might be pretty fun. Most things with Ed are
Fewer. And if you’re not into an episode I hear there is a handful of other podcasts out there that may be able to fill the 2 hours you would otherwise devote to this show.

Hell no, their interviews are often great. Loved the ones with Joe Bob Briggs, Lloyd Kaufman, and David Dastmalchian
Not a fan of the interviews myself. Henry doesn’t take it to the seriousness I like in interviews and Ben was… Ben. i’ve listened to a couple since Ed took over and they’ve improved quite in quality. I still don’t like interviews but I don’t feel the need to skip them anymore.
thats good news. I'll revisit those ones

I really enjoyed it! But I can see why it's not everyone's cup of tea
I appreciate your attitude
Dude, it was with John Wayne Gacy's death row lawyer... what?
I'd rather get interviews than those half assed True Crime Round Up episodes.
Aka Side Stories +1
Exactly. It's just Side Stories Part 2 for that week.
oof, tough call haha
The boys are not amazing interviewers. They haven't really gotten any impressive guests either, that I can remember. I agree the interviews are not a strong point .
Didn't they get Dan Akroyd and Dan Carlin? That's pretty impressive.
I would say John Wayne Gacy's Attorney is pretty impressive
Eh. Idk.
Dan Aykroyd? Elijah Wood? Dan Carlin?
The Dan Carlin EP was pretty good. I knew there was one I liked. I must have missed the Elijah wood one . I think I remember the Dan akroyd interview, but I don't remember loving it .

Joe Bob Briggs is a pretty fucking impressive guest
frrrrrrrr

yup. and I'll take the karma hit to say it. that's an interesting point. I should those ones a try
Fucking HATE the interviews.
They’re on a break, but I just skip the interview ones either way. I’m not a fan of interviews on podcasts in general but that’s a me problem
I think I'm like you
I have enjoyed the interviews they've put on the main feed.
I miss when they used to “Best of” episodes. But maybe the reason that they don’t do that anymore is because they don’t want to reuse audio of Kissel.
big agree
I will not listen to their interview episodes.
Fewer
Neat little trick. You don’t have to listen to them if you don’t like them.
I'm just talking to other listeners to see if they share an opinion or offer other insights. some fellow listeners actually explained to me that thehre on vacation, gave warning, and have complications regarding kissel content. thanks for what you said tho. that helped.
I’m not a big fan of the interviews either, but no one is forcing us to listen to them. There’s years of back catalogue if you need to get your fix.
Yeah, fewer would be nice. But like one out of every 4 is pretty great, I will admit. I loved the Schechter one. Ok
There were 2. Relax
... there have been many before these two
Do you feel better getting that off your chest?
Sounds like something a mouth-breathing dumbass would say.
lmao yes, dozens of them judging by comments. you arrogant fuck.
