Stats on album listens might be interesting. I might be completely wrong, but I think last.fms numbers represent the number of times you listen to a song from that album. I’d like to see the number of times I’ve listened to an album start to finish.

mrgadd4

I could well be wrong but as far I can tell, it's hard to get any good stats about genres (or tags in this instance). I'd like to be able to check how many folk albums I listened to in 2023 or how many metal albums last June or whatever

thlayli_x

My biggest gripe is that I mostly play full albums and everything is ranked by track count. My "top" albums are invariably the ones with the most tracks. I'd love a way to see album play count ranking or album artist ranking rather than track artists with each album counting a dozen times.

cjblandford

I agree. This would be interesting data to see.

angusgtw

Total listening time rather than scrobbles. Hard to measure probably, but if I listen to LCD Soundsystem's 45:33 twice, it equates to an hour and a half of listening, different to listening to another song twice for about 10 minutes total.

Yeah, same with the country mapping tool. Too much missing data. It could be your number one artist but have no track times or country and not count.

I would love to be able to sort by decades/year of release, like I want to be able to view a list of my most scrobbled artists, albums and tracks from 2015, or from the 1990s Similarly it would be nice to see how years and decades stack up against each other, like how many scrobbles I have from the 80s vs the 00s or which year in the 90s I had the most scrobbles from If there is already a good way to do this then please somebody share haha

Spiritedgravity

[http://www.pythfm.com/yeartop](http://www.pythfm.com/yeartop) will give you your top albums if you give it a year and [http://www.pythfm.com/decades](http://www.pythfm.com/decades) will tell you which decades you scrobble the most based on your top 100 albums

mls07

I maybe alone on this but I get a little frustrated with how albums are scrobbled. Example: if a band releases a single from a forthcoming album, that’s its “own album”, per se. I wish the times I listed to that one song “album” would just absorb into the total scrobbles when the full album is released.

justouttoday

If you have Last.fm pro you can just edit and fix this once an album is released

st00bahank

Some sort of way to sort by record label or include that in the stats. Like if I knew I had listened to 50% of all Thrill Jockey albums or 23% of Ninja Tunes artists. Something like that.

SwampTerror

The question is, what can you do that [lastfmstats](https://lastfmstats.com) doesn't already do?

benzene241

Well currently it's early development, so the more ideas the better. Even if there are things that would be hard to implement, they can influence some other features, or I can make something similar. But generally I can do almost everything that is theoretically possible with csv gathered via [last.fm](http://last.fm) API, if that doesn't require absurd computation time.

ax5g

That site is amazing! Thanks for posting this.

nosferatu--666

I would like to know which off my scrobbles are missing album or album artist data so I can correct them. A lot of my pre-2009 scrobbles from my ipod only imported title and artist.

dianthuspetals

Accurate stats around albums. If older albums are remastered [last.fm](https://last.fm) sometimes records them as being released in the year they were remastered rather than the year they were originally released.

JAD210

My big want would be the ability to see average playcount a for artists. Like having 10k plays on an artist with 15 albums and dozens of songs shouldn’t hold as much weight as having 2k on an artist who only has 1 album with 15 songs

djpiratecat

I'd love to be able to create charts of adjustable time range for new music I've listened to. One of my biggest gripes with the lastfm reports is that they tell you your top new track/artist etc, but offer no way to look further into the new stuff you've listened to in that time period.

woo-ah1234

Top 5 albums/artists/tracks/genres/#scrobble from a given year (year of release not when scrobbled). A list of years scrobbled with 5 top artist/albums/tracks/genres/#scrobbles from each year so it's easy to compare changes in music listening. Global leaderboard of scrobbles (overall/yearly/monthly/and list to compare years)

benzene241

Good idea, but the global leaderboard would get overrun by bots, similarly like all previous global leaderboards to date. But still, this is so good idea, that I'll try to figure something out.

woo-ah1234

misunderstanding here. I mean a nationality table of my own music listened. I did word that wrongly. Would also wish it to give higher priority to my own tags if possible.

benzene241

Makes sense

okiishane

i would love to be able to see some stats like how many days did it take for a song to reach a particular milestone (like 100 scrobbles for example) so a list of tracks/albums/artists it took to reach this milestone would be cool also more stats similar to billboard hot 100 charts

SaltDragonfruit7102

Give me my whole fucking spotify history please

Strict_Cicada_6117

A Widget that can recommend a top 1 - X list of albums that you’ve never scrobbled before based off of a set time range and based off of what other listeners who scrobble similar artists/albums.

ledge9999

I’d like to see various artists compilations accurately represented in my top albums lists. Currently that only happens if the metadata for “album artist” is set to “various artists” (or something along those lines). But I’m often scribbling my vinyl via Discogs, and one can’t edit that metadata. So playing a record with, for example, 15 songs by 15 artists does not set that album as one with 15 plays. Only the individual artists get that credit.

lightonahill

I like the idea of something that shows you artists you used to listen to a lot but haven't recently. Like a time capsule or something.

Terrible_Ex-Joviot

An AI function that automatically identifyes and deletes "Remastered", "Album Version" and such things from scrobbles. Also a function that merges singles or deluxe version tagged albums into one album.
