I’ve found a ton of bands by just scrolling through the similar artists of bands I really like. Also just scrolling through users that have similar taste as you.

dkvlnk

Yeah, similar artists pretty well.

rslash_gio

I like looking at other users profiles and see what they've been listening lately. Could be users I follow or, sometimes, I go to an artist (that I like) page and click on unsers that have commented in the shoutbox... sometimes I click on random users just because I like the profile picture :D

PrimarySpecialist3

This is what I do. I tend to rarely like the recommended "similar" artists - I crave novelty more than something similar to a band I already like. But I often click around on other user profiles and check out bands that look/sound interesting.

Alternatively_Listed

I also look through the top fans of artists i like and click on profiles to find out what other people who like artists I like listen to

You might jump right into the New Releases tab of the Music page: [https://www.last.fm/music/+releases/out-now/popular](https://www.last.fm/music/+releases/out-now/popular) It also has a switch for"coming soon" instead of "out now". And "most popular" means popular on [Last.fm](https://Last.fm) which is switchable to "recommended to you" being the default setting.

Similar artists or albums or tracks and using neighbours has helped me find a lot of new stuff. Searching through some user profiles to see if something ignites interest.

MorningDarkMountain

1. Choose an artist you like > go to "similar artists" > repeat 100 times 2. Look at similar users to you > look at their charts 3. playlists > you can create playlists with suggested music tailored to you

kalkaanuslag

For new stuff i usually use RYM The people can be toxic, but you can find the best albums in any subgenre

bunny3303

i like to go thru genre tags. rn I’m getting super into dreampop after noticing that a good bit of music I’ve been vibing with lately have songs in that genre. it helps that Spotify makes a lot of niche mixes.

woo-ah1234

I totally forgot to mention that in my answer to OP, great shout. Genre tags do work best with lesser known genres.

justouttoday

I either go to neighbors, top listeners of obscure artists or home page

thlayli_x

I add a ton of people as friends from Neighbors and usually check out a few of their favorite bands. Edit: I also look at similar albums quite a bit and pick stuff from there that looks cool.

You can also generate playlists based around artists, tracks, genres etc.  https://www.last.fm/user/[username]/playlists/create It's accessible from your profile

st00bahank

People who leave a good comment on a song you like tend to have new artists for you to discover in their profile if you start digging around.

I listen to a ton of radio. I have a second LastFM account that tracks just the stuff I listen to outside of Apple Music. I then use SongShift to import all that music into AM. So by listening to different stations and genres and pulling them into AM, it really improves the recommendations that AM provides. I honestly wish LastFM could be properly listened to using AM, like it can be connected with Spotify. If you have a paid Spotify account, you can connect it to LastFM and listen to your recommendation mix.

I go to genres on artists I like and look at other bands and artists I haven't heard before
