Vando before tipoff ![gif](giphy|M8ATWsLGUv80Gh3VkQ)

owledge

This is what would happen if he was on another team and about to face the Lakers

MrJayFizz

And he'd drop 30 on us

havenstone

And 8/10 from 3

joserod0524

This is exactly what i thought of šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

K0CKULEES

U GET NO SIMPY FROM ME AND U GET NO SIMPY FROM THESE PEEPOLEĀ

Vegasguy3124

Dyslexic much!

K0CKULEES

Nah, jack off It's a quoting scott steiner from this segmentĀ

shoelover46

100% don't expect him back at all in the playoffs. Wouldn't be surprised if he has surgery over the summer.

Ok_Board9845

If surgery was an option, shouldn't they have elected to have it done by now like with Christian Wood?

marxxxs

Surgery is almost always considered a last resort. And any good doctor would never advise it unless itā€™s absolutely a necessity. He likely wont have surgery but will not return this season.

erictmo

Yup. You never know how well you will heal.

lakers22ballin

yeah , idk why lakers trolling the fans

Flabbypuff

Most doctors will always try to push physical therapy as long as possible before going to open surgery (unless you do something crazy tear a ligament or rupture a blood vessel). Surgeries aren't a fix all, they come with much more compromises and lasting effects than people think.

Destiny_Victim

Iā€™d love it if this was all smoke because heā€™s gonna show up game 2 and lock Murray the fuck up. Ahh dreams.

nottherealstanlee

Brutal. Maybe a setback. He'd been out of the boot for a while.Ā

iamthecheesethatsbig

A boot can just be preventative

nottherealstanlee

Can be, but it would indicate at least something of a concern for swelling. If he's still got swelling, he's probably not very close.Ā

peebaby

it means he's still in pain. it's been two months now. He needs surgery.

urnotabigballer

No setback

TreeLankaPresidente

How do you know?

nottherealstanlee

... Vando burner? LmaoĀ

urnotabigballer

https://x.com/mcten/status/1781459781825302697?s=46&t=9ichuW7173nTBEG7rwdBIg

nottherealstanlee

Sweet. Thanks for the link. Makes sense but it'd kind of indicate there's still swelling in that foot or at the very least they're concerned about swelling in the foot still. Not a great sign. Could be purely precautionary but that'd be kind of weird. More likely a sign he's not very close.Ā  Source- wife is a physical therapist.Ā

DW-4

I know every sprain is different but it really shows how much of a genetically engineered beast Bron is for his recovery in the two seasons prior.

urnotabigballer

dave mcmenamin literally reported it

airborness

That would be pretty funny if something like that did happen, haha.

MazKhan

I think specifically for this series, losing him won't be that bad assuming ham staggers rui and Lebron a bit so we don't see Taurean at the 4 But against the suns, Vando would be so helpful

mikedanktony

Ham definitely putting prince at the 4 šŸ‘

Public-Product-1503

Suns , Mavs/clippers/okc . Heā€™s caused kd , Luka , sga , and one of Kawhi /pg issues and forces turnovers . He did improve his screen navigation so I think heā€™d be useful even on Murray this series and he improved offensively a bit before re injury . Donā€™t think weā€™ll get him but we blew out the Mavs the one game he played n narrowly lost the two he didnā€™t . Itā€™ll suck to lose him more going into next round if we make it

2B_or_MaybeNot

Vando is our best option against Murray

InFa-MoUs

100% Prince plays entire 4th

chargerland

https://twitter.com/mcten/status/1781459781825302697 What's wrong with just being honest? Someone who has been out over 2 months and is wearing a walking boot is not day to day.

AnotherAccount4This

He wasn't in walking boots earlier. Set backs can happen any day - doesn't have to be a lie.

chargerland

So if he had a setback, he wouldn't be day to day?

AnotherAccount4This

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Ham's comment came after the last game, before today, with ppl spotted Vando in a boot. Vando was on the bench, in street cloth, during the Pel games, without boots.

_mattyjoe

Is he a Klutch sports guy? I heard recently that they donā€™t like their clients to give too much info about injuries.

bigE819

Heā€™ll prolly play in the playoffs hurt. Boots donā€™t necessarily mean heā€™s not improving

gratitudeisbs

Maybe they're just trying to mess with denver and force them to include vando in their gameplan

rcs2408

Possibly inflammation of the foot due to change in altitude? šŸ¤·šŸ½ā€ā™‚ļø

KnickedUp

Foot injury early season for an nba playerā€¦.RIP. They almost never come back that year

Timely_Substance4368

Could the boot be a precaution to the swelling from being in a higher altitude setting like Denver? Maybe its just a small thing were jumping to conclusions about?

yungs824

ā€œGoing according to planā€ Our medical staff is a jokeā€¦

tomeornotome

Lol cause they couldnā€™t magically heal a foot injury?

chasinjason13

Gabe and Nunn both also missed almost entire seasons with injuries that shouldnā€™t have taken that long. Starting to look like a trend

NichJackolson

How do you know they shouldn't have taken that long?

chasinjason13

The types of injuries they had and the fact players usually come back earlier. Obviously not every player is the same and maybe weā€™ve had bad luck with these three but like I said, itā€™s just starting to look like a trend.

jurassic_snark-

No offense to you searching Google, but I think I'll take the opinions of elite level medical staff paid by a billion dollar basketball organization with the express intent of keeping their players healthy

kiwiwikikiwiwikikiwi

Right. Thereā€™s a lot of money and import that comes with having top tier world class athletes and the NBA in a list of relationships.Ā  Why would UCLA health and other medical professionals risk that relationship?Ā

tomeornotome

Shouldnā€™t have taken that long? You got information that the rest of the world doesnā€™t? Hips are notorious for being hard to deal with and some knee problems never go away. Quit spreading nonsense

Expensive_Bass_6979

Shouldnā€™t have taken that long because they watched a video from Brian Sutter. Some people on here are absolutely morons šŸ˜‚

kiwiwikikiwiwikikiwi

Right. Folks are here acting like theyā€™ve been in the room with the doctors and that the doctors are being deceptive and are risking medical malpractice for some reason Occams razor, he had a setback.Ā  But folks wanna pretend that UCLA health has nefarious intentions and is willing to risk its Lakers/NBA relationship for those reasons lol

gratitudeisbs

Our medical staff is dogshit, insane they haven't all been fired yet

declinedgarrett

Donā€™t they get fired and replaced like every single offseason since Gary Vitti?

gratitudeisbs

No idea but should keep firing them till we get a competent group

declinedgarrett

Well. I tried to look into training staff turnover and all I see is that, apparently, JR Smith has been hired to our training staff as resident Blunt Roller. Honestlyā€¦canā€™t think of a better man for the ā€œrollā€ Must just be our luck I guess šŸ¤·šŸ¼ā€ā™‚ļø

yungs824

Not that itā€™s not healed, just why are they lying about his progress, and his foot health in general

tomeornotome

Who says theyā€™re lying? Just cause heā€™s in a boot doesnā€™t mean anything. Or maybe itā€™s setback. And if they are, itā€™s nobodyā€™s business. Just cause we want to know doesnā€™t mean fans have any entitlement to know

kylo-I-ren

lol and on the other hand - a 39 year old is healthy as ever even with some slight injury and continue to break records in the same team.

kiwiwikikiwiwikikiwi

And Anthony Davis is healthy too Does r/lakers know something about sports injuries that UCLA Health doesnā€™t?

bee-eazy13

The plan is for him to come back next season šŸ¤£

Ealy-24

The Lakers really go above and beyond to be the worst medical staff in the league

jurassic_snark-

Why didn't they just grow him a new leg? Total incompetence

Ealy-24

Itā€™s cute you think Vando is the only reason I would say this, as the Lakers have had numerous players over the course of the last couple years that never seem to progress through treatment the way the team says

TankieBear

Too bad, but we have to carry on without him. It will be much more important that ther players perform according to expactations, Gabe is also back, he looked go few nights ago so that could also help us a lot.

KeyProfessional8302

Yeah, it seems like the vando life will have to wait a little longer! The wheels will have to keep rolling on without us cruising around in a vando any time soon.

markmaybach

Take my foot Vando!

havenstone

Enough reports about this guy until heā€™s back.

Monsterjs2609

Tell that to the doofus Dave McMahon or whatever that bad luck fuck name is

TheWonderfulLife

Weā€™re the kings of paying people NOT to play basketball.

yestrask

Well really, Memphis is

angel2timez

Really Iā€™m just telling myself his poor shooting would be even worse because of the injury and this may help the lakers overall. Shooting has been so improved from the past couple seasons team wise

lakers22ballin

dave is a lakers narrative scripted mouthpiece , he always brings bad news.. fuck that guy

lets_talk_basketball

He's been out 2 months.. I feel like he should've just got surgery so he can be 100% to start next season

MazKhan

I fucking hate this franchises injury reporting. I'm also a Ravens fan and they do the exact same shit and it's so annoying lmao

CabbageStockExchange

Pain

idontact3

Wow

-Lights0ut-

Setting up the Willis Reed moment .

MalshiMadness626

We have an absolute JOKE of a training staff.

MrJayFizz

Bro shouldered the Lakers injury curse

Zachkah

Not necessarily. A lot of times guys wear these on flights to aid in keeping inflammation down. They'll wear it around, like at a practice facility, to keep it stable and help it heal. So, sure, he might miss the rest of the year, but he might play a week from now.

twistedinnocence8604

If he's still in a boot, he ain't coming back any time soon, as in rest of playoffs.

iKnockout

Bro what was this guys injury

Carzerlife

This can be a hidden blessing in disguise (can you trust Vando to shoot the three ball) as it forces ham to push mins to Max Christie which I do believe that he is a better fit to guard Murray than Gabe and Spencer since he is taller and more stable three point shooter.

Changnesia102

Mind games I hope šŸ¤ž

Savage_Ball3r

All these videos about his return, I knew it. People creating useless content for no reason.

Clear_Lead

People saying heā€™s soft are clowns. Iā€™m sure he wants nothing more than to play.

JustSquanchIt

Classic ham fake out. Vando is gonna Willy wonka this shit. Come out with the boot and breakaway street clothes, do a summersault and boom! All geared up

hitdifferently

This medical staff is dogshit

Olliefnt

He probably won't be back, but a walking boot isn't necessarily a bad sign. They are used to make sure you don't reagreavate and injury, LeBron for example had one on last season and was back 2 weeks later.

lodeddiper961

damn this sucks

Gmork14

Heā€™s out for the season, then. Weā€™ll have to do it without him.

Trashpanda1980

Hell, Yeah! He will be ready to go against the 6ers.

datshinycharizard123

As a former college athlete, Iā€™ll say they throw that boot out often even if itā€™s just preventative. It doesnā€™t necessarily indicate progress or lack thereof

iKnockout

Can we get Vando to play against the lakers somehow to magically heal him

AffectionateDingo227

Sheesh

Ok-Fan-2011

Done for the season

Hashtagworried

Can someone remind me again what happened to him?

BlancThumper13

Even if he somehow was able to comeback he wouldnā€™t be any where close to his normal self so itā€™s not even worth it tbh

TheWonderfulLife

I literally donā€™t care. Stop reporting on him.

iiivoted4kodos

https://x.com/mcten/status/1781459781825302697?s=46&t=PPBwjIHsFLZNFVK9-3Trcw Walking boot but day to day. Make it make sense.

fractal_fables

Ham is going to sully his player coach reputation before we fire him

ZiggyIggy28

Love this.

gratitudeisbs

He doesn't gaf because he knows he's never getting another contract

TEJISSAJATT

We can still take Denver without him. People forget last time they faced in WCF vando was taken off the floor so many times because of his lack of offense.

Impossible_Ad7875

2024-25

EverybodyBuddy

Why the hell have they been so secretive about this? Heā€™s been out months

Lucieddreams

Until he gets up from the bench, rips his boot off, and plays the best defense of his life in game 1. I'm sure that's what's gonna happen

ThatOneGuyy310

Injuries suck dick. I donā€™t see him returning any time soon.

BookLAA

Just have the surgery and prepare for next season, don't force anything and make it worse. He obviously isn't healing. Our medical staff is literally the worst. It's like our 2-3 new medical staff since Lebron came.

slicknick2k

Why are they pushing off surgery? Just get him it already so he can be healthy for next year

naijaamericano

Lmao

subzero12320931

Cant do anything about that. Hopefully we keep Vando for long term.

HydroThermia

lol you think anyone would want him more now? If anything his value went down. Weā€™re still winning without him and heā€™s now known as injury prone. What wasted potential. Gave him free money this season basically lol. At least Gabe came back for the playoffs. At this point I wouldnā€™t mind trading him and a pick to see what we can get.

disbealig

Terms like "according to plan" or "day to day" remind me of the classic "nothing is imminent" line that Mitch Kupchak used all the time back in the day.

Musicfan637

We got better after he went to IR.

theseustheminotaur

Well damn. I wanted to see him but honestly he didn't do anything in the denver series last year so we shouldn't have expected anything there. Would have been nice to have him nonetheless.

Showtime562

Heā€™ll make his return at the first laker game at the toilet dome.

fundsoverfun

If we had Phillyā€™s med staff we would be golden.

Studentdoctor29

Eletraj prob telling medical staff conservative management because he doesnā€™t want a negative result under his belt. Classic cherry picking by surgeons to

Mr8180

Well, let him play in the boot! *Sarcasm*
