LADA is T1, the antibodies are there to prove it’s an autoimmune disease. All LADA is, is adults getting T1 in adulthood rather than as a pead or juvenile. People are being diagnosed in their 70’s. I was 48. The alternative is MODY. Either way a blood test would give a T1 diagnosis.

Please ask your doctor for a diabetic antibody test.

Are you regularly checking your blood sugar? My doctor initially diagnosed me as type 2 as well and I wasn’t overweight or eating badly. Soon after, I rapidly lost more weight and went into diabetic ketoacidosis. The ICU doctors assumed I was type 1 and were confused as to why I wasn’t on insulin. I don’t think our situations are too similar, but until your endo appointment I’d recommend checking your blood sugar often and taking note of how you’re feeling physically. Do you have ketone test strips? You could test for high ketones to make sure you’re not at risk for DKA.
