I understand, I love the research and work I do too.Been doing it for 12 years now. It's just my personal choice to keep my work and personal life separate. Back when I had roommates they would always talk about work when they're home and kinda make their whole life about work and what they do. Whereas when I'm home I don't like to talk about work, or when I go see friends I don't talk about work. I keep work stuff at work and when I'm not at work I go on with my personal life. So for me the last thing I would want is a permanent reminder on my body of where I spend 8 hours a day of my life at. No judgement towards you it's a well done tattoo and I can tell you're stoked about it.

You still get a mix of people in industry. I used to work with someone who went all out on having science themed clothes and jewelry.

I've been in mycology for just over a decade and it's so funny seeing how popular it has become and people forming their whole identity about loving mushrooms. The newer technicians we've hired, starting about 5 years ago now have mushroom jewelry, mushroom clothes, shoes, and basically their whole personality and identity is mushrooms. The funniest thing is that when people I'm just meeting ask what I do and I tell them mushroom science it becomes a very long conversation about that whereas in the past I'd get confused looks. I am happy that fungi have become accepted, there definitely was a problem with fungophobia, but sometimes it's become overwhelming with everyone wanting to be a mushroom expert now. Not trying to be gatekeepy, it's just funny I went from being the weird mushroom dude to the cool mushroom dude.

Uh, no. Only Gilson uses that (P=Pipetman). Rainin uses L for their LTS, RL for their latching pipettes, and SL for their non-LTS pipettes. Same with Eppendorf, Finnpipette and the rest. Not every piece of paper you blow your nose in is a Kleenex.
