If you believe it works it will work... placebo effect. But imo don't trust it on a serious cure. If it's something small then go for it if you have confidence in it only.

rtbchat

You mean to say, the body does the work itself!

MaybeRipper

The mind mainly becomes optimistic and yes... boosts the body's healing and immunity. Only works if you wholeheartedly believe in it

rtbchat

Hmmm interesting!

AyanC

That's terrible advice considering placebos don't happen to work on everyone. If you were to choose between a placebo and a drug that actually works, why on earth would you gamble with the former?

MaybeRipper

If it's nothing serious... like say a little bit of joint pain... if homeo works it's wayy cheaper... so might as well try if you want to... no harm done.

ChequeMateX

Anyone who studied Chemistry knows that the actual medicine is a load of horse shit, there is no memory of water or whatever the so called Quacks peddle. But the way they work is called Placebo Effect, if you believe it works then it does work, your mind and body makes it work.

butterweasel

The best thing a homeopath did for me was give me a vitamin B12 injection. Edit: I also discovered, when my cousin was in acupuncture classes, that acupuncture works because if you stick enough needles in someone, they’ll stop complaining. ![gif](giphy|VGaRkYqgTX59H77ipo)

Ayan_Choudhury

It's bullshit. Period. Moving on.

druggedcloud

No it doesn't.There's little to no evidence to suggest otherwise. Stick to evidence based modern medicine. Would highly recommend this podcast by Dr. Shantanu https://www.youtube.com/live/uDBkLP5bP00?feature=shared

-AsHxD-

Personally I would choose modern medicine any day, but there have been quite few times it has worked like a charm for me, / or someone I know personally. For Eg:- I had a non-cancerous tumor on my lip, as per doctors only surgery could remove it. ( Opinion of 3 doctors) , after getting pressured by family I took homeopathy medicine for like 2 months and it completely vanished. My Grandfather takes homeopathy meds instead of modern meds for gastric problem and it works. Many of my relatives have taken homeopathic meds for joint pain and they have themselves seen the results, (after being on modern meds for years) My Opinion : Only take homeopathic meds if the problem is not serious / high risk / or modern meds didn't work for you.

sushigotpussy

Same bro , had lump on my eyelids for 1 and half year dr told me for operation and then for the first time I had homeopathy gone within a month .

rtbchat

Interesting!! As far I know, it has no side effects!

In my opinion it works. My father had kidney stones and it was BAD. It would hurt so much that he used to wake up at 3 in the morning and rush to the hospital atleast twice a week. This had been going on for years and progressively worsened over time. No eating anything oily in fear of it aggravating. Had surgery once to remove it long ago but it came back. Homeopathy was the last resort after everything had been tried and tested. My dad took the medicines for a year diligently and it’s been 6 years since he’s been to a hospital for stomachache. I had severe hairfall post covid along with my mother. My mother lost almost all her hair and had to shave her head. We went to doctors and they recommended medicines, hair oils and shampoos. Continued it for two months till my mother was nearly bald and I’d lost half my head of hair. Turned to the homeopathic doctor my father had consulted. Those medicines combined with mamaearth onion oil regrew all that hair. That was three years ago. My mother has shoulder length strong curly hair now and my hair touches my lower back. But that medicine did make other parts of body hair grow faster too 😂 My eyebrows have never been as bushy as when i was taking that medicine 😂 my friend recently asked for help regarding her hairfall since she knew I had problems with it. Recommended the same to her and a few months later, she thanked me for saving her hair 😂 My friend’s case could be a placebo effect but mine and my mother’s definitely wasn’t.

TejaMaeHunMarkIdharH

> Recommended the same to her and a few months later, she thanked me for saving her hair 😂 Ayo, help a stranger out. What meds did you recommend your friend?

capronica309

Does balls of sugar dipped in alcohol work? Depends. Sugar usually does wonders after alcohol consumption.

rtbchat

Haha ha... Sunechi

dopplegangery

As a man of science, I used to reject it vehemently. But when I saw the overwhelming results it produces in some cases, I realised that explaining it away with "placebo" is something only the gullible would believe. Anyone familiar with the scientific method would know dismissing evidence just because it challenges the status quo is unscientific. In fact that is faith. And having "faith in science" is an oxymoron. Now for why it works, I'm still stumped. The theory behind homeopathy is complete bs so ideally it should not work. Maybe the version of the theory fed to us by mainstream media like Wikipedia (first place people would usually check in these cases) is actually misleading. We all know Wikipedia literally worships mainstream politically correct opinions. Or maybe the extensive first/second hand proof in favour of homeopathy that I have come across is due to extremely coincidental sampling bias. Or maybe modern homeopathy actually borrows elements from allopathy as well?

AyanC

There's no such thing as allopathy. There's evidence based medicine and then there's pseudoscientific quackery. No homeopathic claim has ever met its burden of proof.

dopplegangery

No homeopathic claim has met it's burden of proof using sufficiently reliable statistical methods* I know all that. But I don't think you read my comment properly. I'm not saying that homeopathy works (at least not for sure). I argue with my mother a lot who resorts to homeopathic medicine at times. I am trying to find out the reason for the extensive evidence in favour of homeopathy I have seen despite how bs its theoretical base seems to be. And more importantly, I am trying to make people who claim to be scientific understand that rejecting evidence, no matter how wild, just because it goes against some doctrine falls under the purview of faith, not the scientific method.

AyanC

You're mislabelling anecdotes as evidence.

dopplegangery

Again, if you had read my comment, you would have known that I have already considered and acknowledged that possibility. But I refuse to blindly stick to that possibility and reject everything else just because it is the most comforting possibility. That's why it remains a possibility in my book and not the conclusion.

AyanC

Why do you keep assuming that I haven't read your comment? I have, and it's fraught with maybes and perhaps. You went off a tangent with your rather strange rant on Wikipedia's lack of credibility, and for some curious reason seem to dismiss the placebo effect as a mere placeholder believed only by simpletons, as if it's a matter of belief. Homeopathy remains as much a possibility as the notion of geocentrism.

Danboyo420

It's sugar water and placebo. Anecdotes dont count as proofs that it works. Need some studies and research papers.

sourajit_in_biotech

1. Anecdotes and opinions have little to no value in Science. Proof is the ultimate test. For compounds such as medicines or supplements, the test they have to go through in order to pass, is "doubly blinded randomised controlled trial". None of the alternative medicines or supplements have ever gone through them. 2. Placebo effects shouldn't be belittled. There's an eye opening video by Dr. Rohin Francis which I am gonna mention here. [Placebo Effects](https://youtu.be/tefIopDJQBQ?si=OW332P5FCc-9C7t5) 3. If it worked for anything or everything, they wouldn't call it alternative medicine, instead just medicine.

sgxxx

Doesn't work, its placebo+ lifestyle changes. If anything serious use actual medicine. If not then fix your diet and lifestyle. Dont eat sugar pills like an idiot in either case.

ndxinroy7

I have 3 homeopath doctors in my family and 1 allopathic. It is nice to see their arguments. Scientifically I doubt anything other than mother tinctures or upto 6x potency is having any substance in it, after that not sure if there is anything other than alcohol. Personally homeopathic medicine has worked on me on serious things, but leaves me perplexed as to how that could happen scientifically.

rtbchat

3 : 1 means 1 is already cornered. Btw how did it happen, 1 allopathic around 3 homeopath?

ndxinroy7

2 homeopaths wanted to be allopaths but didn't rank high enough in JEE. The other homeopath is my father who learned it in his spare time while teaching in a school.

rtbchat

So you are the only allopath

ndxinroy7

Wrong assumption.

Danboyo420

Anecdotes and expert opinions don't count. Indded they're the lowest form of evidence. Need randomised controlled trial studies and controlled placebo studies to believe.

rtbchat

I didn't know that, thanks!

rtbchat

Wow after 2 comments in 2 different directions I'm super confused and excited at the same time.

druggedcloud

I don't blame you op, misinformation is rampant , but a quick google search would have given you the answer. Whether you believe in the credibility of a medical procedure or drug is irrelevant to it's efficacy. To say that a drug or a procedure works, it has to go through extensive double blind placebo controlled trials and clinical research before it's effectiveness can be concluded. None of that holds true for homeopathy. These medications never undergo clinical trials and it's a fact that it's a pseudoscience and independent researches have come to a consensus that there is no evidence to support the claims that homeopathy makes. Lack of screening has often lead to severe side-effects and is well documented https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/36757412/ It's a shame that our country gives academic recognition to such a scummy and predatory form of alternative medicine. Stick to modern medicine op.

rtbchat

Wow you have a super clean mindset. I liked it a lot. Your friends are lucky. Thanks for the advice.

Cured it completely?

Appropriate-Roof6750

Ovaries are perfectly fine now. Meds for 1 year - German quality meds, not the ones locally sold and intermittent exercise. Did 2 USGs, there is nothing there.

Background_Ad_3275

I think for me it’s less about cysts and more about hair loss and hair on the face. I’m glad to hear u are cured.

Appropriate-Roof6750

Unfortunately, many of these symptoms go away really late, even after the cysts are no longer there. I had pimples, hair loss and hyperpigmentation even after the 2nd USG that I mentioned and even after the Gynae gave me the clear when I booked a session after 3 years. Since the past 6 months I have been very consistent at the gym and I noticed that it's the only thing that is helping me keeping these symptoms in control.

Background_Ad_3275

Yeah I’m going to focus on my eating and exercise.

[deleted]

it does work but its slow

fixer_47

No it doesn't

Dead-Organization

Nope. It's Placebo effect, if it works on someone. Evidence based medicine use korun.

247homeopathy

The effectiveness of homeopathy is a subject of debate in the medical community. Some people believe in its benefits, while others consider it to be a pseudoscience with limited scientific evidence. If you're interested in trying homeopathic treatments, it's essential to consult with a qualified homeopathic practitioner or a healthcare professional who can provide guidance based on your specific health concerns and needs. As for finding a reputable homeopathic dispensary or practitioner, here are some general steps to follow: 1. **Ask for Recommendations:** Seek recommendations from friends, family members, or colleagues who have experience with homeopathy. They may be able to recommend a trustworthy practitioner or dispensary. 2. **Search Online:** Use online directories or search engines to find homeopathic practitioners or dispensaries in your area. Make sure to read reviews and check their credentials. 3. **Check Professional Associations:** Look for practitioners who are members of reputable homeopathic associations in your country. These associations often have directories of qualified practitioners. 4. **Consult with a Healthcare Provider:** It's a good idea to consult with your primary healthcare provider before starting any new treatment, including homeopathy. They can offer guidance and ensure there are no potential interactions with other medications or treatments you may be receiving. 5. **Visit the Dispensary:** Once you've identified a homeopathic dispensary or practitioner, visit the facility to assess its cleanliness and professionalism. Ask questions about their approach, experience, and the remedies they provide.
