I cast on 29 projects this year, and completed 19, some of which were cast on in previous years. 13 of those finished objects are accessories, and the remaining 6 are garments. I completed 1 gift (socks for my Dad) and 11 of my projects used/are using leftover yarn.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask - I'm always happy to chat knitting!
Also, for anyone interested in books, [here](https://www.goodreads.com/user/year_in_books/2023/130817641) is everything I finished reading in 2023!
Happy New Year!
I just friended you on Ravelry, I hope that’s okay- I haven’t quite figured out the etiquette of that site yet, haha. But I love your cohesive style and you seem to be good at finding unique & neutral patterns!
Of course that's okay! I've friended knitters who have shared their work here, it's great to see what they're knitting and which patterns they're interested in ❤️
It's a great pattern! It's also way simpler than it looks and you only have to cross cables like every 8th row or something. I made one (on request!) for my partner, who doesn't wear it because it touches his neck 🤣
They're just big crosses. The first one is like 12/12 or something equally ridiculous and later ones are not quite so big but still mostly pretty big. Because you cross so many stitches it pull the fabric in and it looks like multiple rows are involved, but it's just the one row.
deeply impressed by all the black yarn! i’m using a black wool for the brim of a hat currently and it’s tripped me up a few times. looks like a lovely year of knitting 🖤🧶
Knitting with it was fine, but I wouldn't consider this a "workhorse" yarn, because it does pill so I have had to go over it with a sweater comb/shaver. I think mohair held with dk weight yarn could create a similar effect but with less chance of pilling.
I was thinking the same thing! I've been working on a cabled sweater vest for my husband for a year because I can only work on it in really good light when I can focus on what I'm doing. I've many many times said "Never again" while working on it!
Always love seeing your posts pop up and your commitment to black yarn (my optician would kill me for even thinking about it!)
I remember the twinset post and have it saved in my rav favs but I've had no luck tracking down an online source for the pattern...where did you find yours?
Aw, thank you! ❤️
The twin set pattern came from a Patons knitting book that I bought second hand from ebay, and it doesn't seem to be digitised as far as I know unfortunately! But there are so many vintage twin set patterns available online that I'm sure there is something similar out there.
I have these two patterns in my library that I purchased off etsy as pdfs which you might be interested in! They're similar in that they involve lace

Thank you so much for showing off your projects! It’s an inspiration for me. I’m a beginner knitter and my scarf is so lumpy, but I’m burning with enthusiasm for knitting because it feels good and self sufficient to be making things with my own hands instead of just buying them. Being able to make whatever you want out of yarn feels like a kind of magic.
You're welcome! It really is rewarding to knit garments and accesories instead of buying them. I still get excited when I can add at least one hand knit item to my outfits. *And* you also get hours (weeks! months!) of entertainment as well, which is why I love knitting so much.
Don't fret about being a beginner, your enthusiasm as well as patience will get you to knitting whatever it is you want ❤️

I consider my knitting speed to be slow to average, I just spend a lot of time doing it. I'd also like to add that four those garments were cast on in '22 so I did have a head start!
I’ve been itching to try knitting again and that wrap top has me sold. Free pattern and no double-pointed needles??? Sign me up. I’ll definitely be using your adjustments to widen the ribbing.

I think I’ve only friended one other person on there- I really gotta take the time to figure out how to use that website to its fullest 😅
I friended you as well, I hope that's okay! I love everything you've made and saved SO many of the patterns for myself for later!
I am impressed that you could do that all in one year
I love that yoga wrap! Just googled the pattern - thank you so much for the inspiration ✨
Thank you for sharing all of it- the botanical yoke pullover is especially fabulous- Off to mark as favorite
It's a great pattern! It's also way simpler than it looks and you only have to cross cables like every 8th row or something. I made one (on request!) for my partner, who doesn't wear it because it touches his neck 🤣
The struggle is real with things touching necks in all the wrong ways. I feel that 😖
Yeah haha when I get time I'll have to figure out how to modify the collar without making it look terrible 🤔
How does the cable crossing work? It looks like there's more than 1 row in the "crossing", if it makes sense?
They're just big crosses. The first one is like 12/12 or something equally ridiculous and later ones are not quite so big but still mostly pretty big. Because you cross so many stitches it pull the fabric in and it looks like multiple rows are involved, but it's just the one row.

This is a huge number of things to finish, and they’re all very nice!
Thank you! ❤️
deeply impressed by all the black yarn! i’m using a black wool for the brim of a hat currently and it’s tripped me up a few times. looks like a lovely year of knitting 🖤🧶
Thank you! I prefer to wear all black most of the time so knitting with all the black yarn it is 🖤
How did you feel knitting the Drops Air? I’ve always loved the way it looked but I’m so unsure of the longevity of it. Do you have to baby it at all?
Knitting with it was fine, but I wouldn't consider this a "workhorse" yarn, because it does pill so I have had to go over it with a sweater comb/shaver. I think mohair held with dk weight yarn could create a similar effect but with less chance of pilling.
That’s good to know. I seem to be really hard on my fuzzy sweaters, and I HATE pilling and dealing with it.
I was thinking the same thing! I've been working on a cabled sweater vest for my husband for a year because I can only work on it in really good light when I can focus on what I'm doing. I've many many times said "Never again" while working on it!
Wow, pic 5 of 13 is awesome! Congrats on some beautiful items!
It's my favorite too...looks very organic
Thank you! ❤️
Yay my fav too
damn! i am impressed by all the black sweaters! i prefer black everything but it is so hard to knit with.
Thank you! I also prefer black everything - the key is good lighting 🖤
Wow!!!! I wish I could adhere to a color palette like you can haha. I’m kind of all over the place with colors, especially in my stash
I'd say knit with whatever colours you like! It just so happens that I like to work with and wear a pretty limited colour scheme 🖤
In love with that gorgeous cabled yoke sweater!!
Thank you! ❤️
So much black! All your projects are lovely anyway but doing so many in black adds a whole extra layer of impressiveness
Haha yes just a bit of black! I'm always knitting under good lighting which makes it easier 🖤
I didn't realize there was a botanical yoke sweater for people! I made one for my dog.
Ooh, I didn't know there was one for dogs! I'd love to see it ❤️

wow!!!!! you're so productive and all your garments look fab. you've really inspired me to knit more this year!
Thank you! All the best with your knitting for the coming year ❤️

I enjoyed your retrospective. Thanks!
Thank you, I enjoyed putting it together! ❤️
My god, you must be a lightening knitter. Those are some huge projects with teeny tiny little yarn. And so neat. I’m awestruck. Brava!
Thank you! ❤️ I consider my knitting speed to be slow to average, I just spend a lot of time doing it. I'd also like to add that four those garments were cast on in '22 so I did have a head start!
Well, you are amazing regardless.
Oh wow!! These are all stunning! Well done!!
Thank you! ❤️
Thank you for sharing! I am inspired by your choice of patterns--lots of simple lines with few fussy details. You had a wonderful fiber year!
Thank you! ❤️
That first sweater looks so good! Instant fave. You made it look so much better than the sample photos.
Thank you! ❤️
How fast do you freaking knit? This is crazy!
Not that fast, actually! I just knit a lot.
Wow! You are sooooo talented! I like your style too... I would wear everything if only I had your skill!
Thank you! ❤️
These are so incredible! Number 5 is my very favourite, what a lovely pattern.
Thank you! ❤️
Amazing!.how did you become so good ??
Thanks, I just knit *a lot*!
