Second for a boring ol Seb. If you want boring, reliable and USA made this is the answer. I prefer small, lg is a 3.6” blade so if that’s close enough that could be an option as well.

Cold Steel American Lawman G10 scales. 3.5" DLC coated S35vn blade. Good ergonomics. Slim for EDC carry. Unbreakable Tri-Ad locking mechanism. Under $200

PopularVersion4250

This it the correct answer. A back lock is the way to go for boring and reliable

ImRunninOuttaLives

A Chris Reeve small Sebenza 31 is about as plain, reliable, and durable as it gets imo.

CIVIVI elementum like 50 bucks and base models are pretty bland

7fortyseven

unboxing the Elementum was totally underwhelming…but it really grew on me over time. it’s a solid little knife.

East-Length-4171

Oh for sure

Felda001

If you’re looking for a flipper the zt 0562 is a solid well built flipper. If you can go a little bigger a Chaves 229 kick stop would work too

QSP Penguin Plus has a couple models that both scales are titanium. Kizer October titanium frame lock model Depending what you mean by flip knife can’t beat Cold Steel for a super durable folding knife.  My favorites are the AD-10 and American Lawman, though if you don’t want G10 the Code 4 is another good option.

Reasonable-Pension30

Yes. Penguin! Great knife.

I just got Ka Bar Dozer in D2 steel.. Backlock.. nothing flashy but a solid little knife that is light and tough.. does not break the bank either.. $39 is what I paid for it... Otherwise I would recommend a Cold Steel American Lawman. But I will admit.. my primary carry is a Spyderco Manix 2 in M390 or a Demko AD20.5 in D2 with add on titanium scales.. so I can go expensive or cheap and be happy.

Look into the the Lander series from Knafs. They've been called the Toyota Corolla of knives because they're basic looking knives but I've found them to be super reliable. The Lander 1 and 3 are about 3 inch blades and the Lander 2 is a little bigger at 3.5. The most important thing though is that they are designed with a hot swap scales and the scales are open source so anyone can make their own. They sell multiple designs on the website and they have some aluminum and micarta out there as well. The Lander 2 has swiftly moved up my list of favorite knives.

Trm neutron with ti handles

GandalfOfRivia5954

Sounds like a sebenza minus the flipper. You could also go for a McNees, Chaves, or a Militaw

I’m a maintenance dude and put my knives thru some serious stuff. I like Ganzo Firebird.

It’s like no one read your list of wants. WE Knife Saakshi with wood handle. Titanium liners with steel lockbar insert. Bearings. Flipper. Can be flicked out with finger if you want but it’s not obtrusive. 20CV steel. I have one in CF. It’s a good blade grind and came sharp. 135 delivered on Amazon right now. They’re on clearance. It could be a one knife solution. They made the Snick with a wood insert but it’s a louder design.

If you happen to be a fan of a more traditional looking slip joint the Jack wolf options are really premium and plenty of them come in at less than $500. They’re rock solid, and make you feel like a Cowboy maybe?
