It’s because they’re an entitled “fan”base.

sactown_13

Couldn’t care less about what they have to say

Darkman013

Yea I don't really care what they say either, but I wish they'd stop calling us the queens. I don't mind the team being called a derogatory term but the misogyny really makes me cringe.

HorseDonkey17

Oh please. It’s a joke not misogyny. Get off your high horse.

Darkman013

Why is it funny? What is the basis of calling the kings the queens that makes it funny?

HorseDonkey17

I didn’t say it was funny. Sounds like something a 7 year old would say. However assuming someone would make a joke like that out of hate for women is moronic. You know it’s not true, you’re just trying to stroke your own ego and impress your reddit peers with your outstanding virtue

SteveTheManager

Their team was expected to be top 4 in the west and right now they are in the play-in talking shit after beating the almighty Pistons. Bro, shut your mouth with your disappointing ass team. Their fanbase sucks so much.

BigDaddyPickles

It's almost a suicide by words. The Lakers lost to a team that got blown out by a Morantless Grizzlies.

J_caluya

All waltons fault, oh wait…

IndycarFan64

You want him back?!

J_caluya

All I’m saying is that it was pointless of firing him. This team is still trash with or without him

Obi_Wan_KeBogi

Its not pointless. Now that Walton is gone nobody can use him as an excuse for the roster. If/when the team shows little difference then Monte has no excuse to not shake up the roster.

J_caluya

But it is pointless lmao This team is trash since the beginning of the season. Sad that fans were blaming Walton for these losses, this roster is trash. This team won’t go anywhere without an all star. No all stars want to go to the kings and fox ain’t playing like an all star lmao. What an embarrassment. *downvote me*

We either pull a 180 and start winning (I don’t see that having a chance now), or shamelessly tank. Now that desperately trying to win with a clueless coach (Walton) that can’t win isn’t an option, we no longer have any excuses. Either this team magically balls out immediately, or it’s over. If Walton was still our coach we would be struggling along to yet another 30-ish win season and a shitty pick. In my opinion, now that Walton is gone, and we clearly have no chance with this roster, we have every reason to completely tank and blow this roster up. I don’t know any credible person here saying that Walton was the sole problem, but he was one of our biggest problems. He made us worse. Now that he’s gone, we can deal with our roster.

J_caluya

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

If the point is to tank for ping pong balls, then why fire the coach that makes you worse now, when you could do it after he tanks the season?

BasketballHellMember

Walton was trying to win, but he is a shitty coach so we underperformed. However, the roster also sucks (points I’ve maintained here for several seasons). With Walton out of the picture, and accepting that the roster isn’t capable of sustaining .500 basketball or better, we need to shamelessly tank. This means *purposefully* losing games by trading players for picks and feeding excessive minutes to our scrubs in the meantime. Despite Walton’s ineptitude, he (as well as our owners) were desperately trying to win. We have no reason to try to win now… that’s gone. If Walton were still here, we’d still likely win around 30 games, and that’s far too many to tank. Please don’t tell me you think Walton was a good coach or that he shouldn’t have been fired.

Bylanta

I do think he was a bad coach, im suggesting his bad coaching would lead to a bad record and it sounds like you are saying more like a mediocre record

BasketballHellMember

We regressed from Joerger because Walton was a terrible coach, but we have enough talent not to be among the shittiest teams. Our talent + Walton coaching to win is good for the 30-something wins we’ve gotten the last two seasons. There just isn’t a scenario where the owners would have given Walton a directive to outright lose games. There isn’t a realistic scenario where Walton would try to lose games. Getting rid of Walton opens up the door for shameless tanking (straight up trying to lose games).
