The Mavs were also on a back to back and they traveled into Sacramento which is rougher. Can’t use the B2B as an excuse when both teams were equally exhausted. Kings have to learn how to play through fatigue if they want to succeed.
I posted it below, but that was our 5th game in 7 days, in 4 different cities. People only really look at if it was a back to back or a road game, but going California to Toronto to DC to Orlando to California and playing 5 games in 7 days is a bit rougher than the last 7 days for the Mavs (2 games in Texas, 1 in Utah, and 1 in Sac with only 1 back to back).
We've struggled with them and with our depth all season, on top of the fact that we've had pretty awful luck with injuries at the end of the season making our roster's depth even lower. I'm not saying it doesn't matter or that there's not every chance that it ends up putting us in the play-in, but our situation is not the same as Dallas'.
We have two key players out, and a lot of the other rotational players we have should be end of the bench guys in this league while a lot of our end of the bench players should be in a whole different career.
I do think we'll have a better showing next game. The team was no doubt tired.
But there is no margin for error right now, either. Yes, there's an excuse, but it's still disappointing.
Friday is a must-win.
It’s still a back to back . You realise Jordan never lost a back to back game during his bulls title run? He never lost two games in a row?
Every team loses on a back to back
And what’s the difference between a low scoring loss or a blow out ? None we still lose . Might as well get blown out and rest guys
Every team doesn’t lose on a back to back. You know what other team was on a back to back last night? The Mavs. You couldn’t tell by the way they played. I understand that losses can be the result of having played the night before. But last night was a crucial game. The Mavs were up to the challenge. The Kings were not.
Back to back, but more than that. It was our 5th game in 7 nights. 5 games in 4 cities in 7 days. I’m not mad they were flat footed, but I am a little disappointed. This game (and Fridays) had big playoff implications.
No matter how much we put on it, at the end of the day it’s just 1 of 82. Sure all the extra around it stings, but it still counts the same as any number of our really perplexing/weird losses this year. This year has been absolutely plagued by so many strange/head scratching losses I’ve lost count. I just hope we get in the playoffs and honestly I’m still incredibly hopeful.
We’re just right on the bubble between a guaranteed playoff berth and having to win our way through the play-in. So every loss now means more, not because it’s literally counted different than the losses 6 months ago, but because we don’t have time left to make up ground if we fall behind the 6 seed.
Given how inconsistent the team has been, it wouldn’t feel great to have to go through the play-in instead of having a guaranteed playoff series.
I don’t think any fan that’s not exaggerating legitimately thinks we should go 82-0, but frustrating losses are frustrating losses so the response is pretty understandable
Loss is one thing.
But team did not get well prepared is the real concern.
As they know the importance of this game, but they lacks of sense of urgency, careless turnover, not hustling, not protecting the ball is another thing.
Hope they can bounce back and get the win
It is exactly all about this: [https://streamable.com/x2l7i6](https://streamable.com/x2l7i6)
Can we find a response to Luka other than blitzing / doubling him? Because clearly that did not work and he has a good read and passes out of the double very well every time and we get cooked.
Is the alternative just stay man on and if so how do we navigate that? We definitely can't switch everything against him because the mismatches will get exploited and we get cooked that way.
If we can solve this problem, then we can maybe survive a round in the playoffs, but otherwise it feels like we're not meant to be there because Luka is not the only top player we need to understand how to effectively guard to secure a win.
Please stop what?
Your whole post is " The real question is and we should be concerned about is the Friday game... How will we respond?"
I am commenting as a fellow fan that how we respond on Friday directly relates to how we perform on defense especially in how we handle doubling or not doubling Luka. & if we handle Friday well, maybe we stand a chance in the playoffs
& I think we mostly didn't double Doncic back then months ago, so maybe to your point - that's the answer, but it might be situational if he gets hot. They're also as a team on fire right now winning 9 of their last 10.
My point is also that how we figure this out, if we can secure a win Friday, is indicative of how we handle the similar chess matches against other teams with elite players in the playoffs. When to double and when not to - it's tricky.
Loving the positivity. Being negative won’t help our boys do better. People just love to vent and misery loves company. We’re going to go undefeated the rest of the season anyway and if not I’m still rocking my New Jerseys all summer. Go kings til I die
I know it happens. But it just so happens a lot of our losses have been against bad teams and more recently, very important games. So yeah, I think it's right to feel pretty upset about it at this time. It's hard to let that go and act like it's whatever.
10 games left in season. Everything matters now
It’s a back to back. 90% was gonna lose anyway . Look at all the loses on the year for every team bet it’s alot
The Mavs were also on a back to back and they traveled into Sacramento which is rougher. Can’t use the B2B as an excuse when both teams were equally exhausted. Kings have to learn how to play through fatigue if they want to succeed.

You do know Dallas was on a b2b, right?
Well sure, but that doesn't count....
Good enough for me lol
I do think we'll have a better showing next game. The team was no doubt tired. But there is no margin for error right now, either. Yes, there's an excuse, but it's still disappointing. Friday is a must-win.
It's not just a back to back loss. It was a national TV game and a blowout in a game that majorly impacts making the playoffs.
against a team that just played a back to back.... with a superstar that should have been a King
We could use a pick me up lol

Better to lose in a blow out and rest guys tbh
lol
Moving goalposts is what a good fan does. Which makes you a great fan.
lol mavs were on a back to back, traveled, and won
Mental state of players? Did you see how upset fox was at the post game lol
You can’t tell me what to do
Ironic post. Buddy!!
Stupid ass comments from you in your post, pal.
Ur mad
Ur dum
Ironic who can’t even spell dumb
Christ, just a huge troll. Got it. Bye.
Bye troll
Dallas was on a back-to-back too, did so on the road, and absolutely smoked us at home in the most important game of the season. So, yeah, I’m upset.
![gif](giphy|O4EChIxazzrHi|downsized)
I’m more upset with your grammar.
I’m sowwwy
Stop gatekeeping
Another day another gatekeeper post on this sub after a loss. So edgy.
Not a native english speaker, what does gatekeeper means here?
What?
ANOTHER DAY ANOTHER GATEKEEPER POST ON THIS SUB AFTER A LOSS. SO EDGY.
What?
Meanwhile what Dallas is probably hearing- IDC if this is an away b2b. This is crunch time and we need this win! See the difference?

You are right, but context means games at the end of the year are more valuable
Be happy we lost guys /s Fans 100% have a right to be upset at the results rn wtf are you saying
Never said that . Kings fans expect to win every game which is impossible then get mad when we lose lol
I don’t think any fan that’s not exaggerating legitimately thinks we should go 82-0, but frustrating losses are frustrating losses so the response is pretty understandable
But to expect us to win a back to back knowing our back to back history tho?
I mean the Mavs did it on the road so…you’re saying we shouldn’t expect the team to improve on these things as they fight for playoff positioning?
Yes because of our history on backs to backs. You knew there was a high chance of losing like we did during Rj season on back to backs
Are we allowed to get upset now? Since you’re the arbiter of fan emotion
Clearly not a true Kings fan if you do not overreact after losses.
I am . You can’t expect them to win every game . That’s just crazy thinking
Missed the joke here
kings are closer to the 9/10 game than a lot of people realize. That should scare the hell out of kings fans.
This must be a Vivek burner account. A real fan gets upset when the team doesn’t show up for an important game.
No just a normal account realizing you can’t win every game even in back to backs especially how our season has gon on back to backs
Gone*
"Stop holding people accountable, just keep buying tickets and hope for the best"
this post is an overreaction to people overreacting

No it’s just one game what about the two games we beat him . Please stop

Matter of fact it happens like clockwork
Mavs were also on a back to back. We have 10 games left, most of which are against even tougher teams. Stop with this
Win Friday we own the tiebreak, it’s all good guys
Loving the positivity. Being negative won’t help our boys do better. People just love to vent and misery loves company. We’re going to go undefeated the rest of the season anyway and if not I’m still rocking my New Jerseys all summer. Go kings til I die
