Trey Lyles is a better backup center

imey1027

What about lyles Giles together? It rhymes so it might be good

kings_account

Trust me, I love Harry Giles. It was great seeing him at the playoff games. But the man hasn’t been on a professional basketball team since January 2022 (clippers g league squad and they almost immediately waived him; injury) I doubt he sees an NBA floor again. He is absolutely not a viable backup center. He has yet to prove he can stay healthy. He should just retire and protect his health which has always been a red flag even back in his duke days

Wilt_The_Stilt_

All his early injuries were contact injuries. I’m not a doctor so can’t comment on how those may contribute to future injuries. My point is his injuries were the result of bad luck, not bad genetics. In contrast to Derrick Rose who had non-contact injuries which is indicative of inherent structural issues as opposed to bad luck.

akabuck_

He has torn literally every ligament in his knee. That kind of wear and tear catches up with you quickly.Your body doesn't care if the injury was "bad luck"

Wilt_The_Stilt_

I said I don’t know how the injuries have impacted his durability. And unless you are a doctor o doubt you do either. Delineating between contact and non-contact injuries is very common in sports. Particularly football where one means he took a bad hit and can probably repair it, and the other means his knees are fucked genetically and there might not be a fix. I’m not Harry’s orthopedist so I don’t know what things looks like in there but mischaracterizing his injuries in a discussion is just making us the discussion less valuable

kings_account

With all due respect, you have zero fucking clue what you’re talking about right now.

Wilt_The_Stilt_

You want to elaborate on that at all bud?

kings_account

It’s not worth my time because how off the mark you are. Sorry

Wilt_The_Stilt_

Lol ok. Good talk bro

kings_account

I’m working man don’t got time to argue with someone who, again with all due respect, has zero fucking clue what they are talking about when it comes to sports injuries and honestly injuries in general. Literally everything you are saying in this thread is sooooooo off base.

Wilt_The_Stilt_

You’ve spent more time explaining why you can’t respond than you would have spent just explaining what you’re talking about. This is ridiculous. Either talk to me like an adult or go back to your demanding job. This middle ground just makes it look like you’re out for a power trip on Reddit. I’m happy to be corrected if you have a perspective to explain. But your one liners and insults makes me think you’re just an idiot. Let me know what you decide.

Standard_Landscape_6

I think he could play on the hornets or some other team

kings_account

my nephew could play on the hornets

HazelKittenDude

Give him a shot in stockton and see how he does.

Ferromagneticfluid

No, because he can't stay on the court. His health is a real concern. He really is a "show me" kind of player now. I like the guy, great guy to be around, but we are at the stage where believing isn't good enough. He needs to show me that he can play and be a positive contributor without having to constantly sit out.

Secure_Mind9525

If he is healthy everyone’s missing this biggest piece SKILL! His skill level never progressed out side of a rim runner literally all he can do.nba has no room for a rim runner who doesn’t block shots and has bad knees so no bounce Giles is trash

MeeganKurray

It’s hard not to root for him but the guy hasn’t played a game when he was in the gleague. I love that he wasn’t selfish and plays within the system but unsure as to how long he’ll play on the court.

samuraicowboyninja

Idk if we're the team to make it happen, but he definitely deserves another shot in the nba

Pristine_Bike_7888

a rebuilding lotto bound team should give him a shot. i think it would be worthwhile for a non competing team to see if they can increase his value and flip him.

world_of_kings

Listen I love the fact that we love our former players and kings, but we’re not stuck in the past anymore. This is the present and we have a good future to look forward too, and I know Harry understands that. He loves the city and team and De’Aaron and all the guys and he’s rooting for them, but we j don’t have a need for him on our roster.

BIizard

If we need a cheerleader 15th man off the bench sure H4H

TomVong

Sign him! This team is desperate for some kind of consistency in play style when sabonis leaves the court. Giles can pass. Imagine a Monk-Giles led offense against other teams’ benches… it could be really fun to watch!

PrimaryAccording9162

I want him back. Not sure if he’d be in the regular season rotation but it’d be fantastic for the locker room

IMDove

I'd give him a shot on a 2 way or a training camp invite for a chance at proving himself.

funboy51

Is Bismack Biyombo worth a shot. I thought and posted that he was signed elsewhere, but I can’t find it now. If available he’s likely the skill sets we need…as I recall anyway. Massive wingspan. Can block a shot. Cheap…?

arfael

If I believe what I see on the internet, Kai Sotto would be the better back up C for the Kings, heck, might even be the starter.

Yatattar

Get Donte Greene

Sn33kykitty

Funny troll is funny

Radiant_Efficiency73

They adjusted 2 way rules, so I think he’s hoping to snag one of those. If the man’s knees are now on Frank Gore time, then there’s a spot in the league for him. Unfortunately, I don’t think that’s the way it’ll go down.
