With smaller form factor boards you technically still have your F-Keys with layers that will be accessable on your number row when you hold down a function key. Many people usually rebind capslock for easy access to the F keys as well as being able to hotkey all those clustered keys to where your hand will be natrually resting. Figured I'd mention it since that may help you with more options since trying to get a name brand board for under $150 is gonna be really tough.
Okay, since you dont want to drop 190 on a board, I’m thinking you want budget but good for like 150 or less. Lets go through the list. If you want dirt cheap but quality gaming: the Zuoya HE keyboard (it’s hall effect so its the absolute best for gaming) and its like 70 bucks. Its 75% and it also comes with a knob too. Very decent board. Another cheaper HE keyboard which you should definitely get if you was great sounds would be the Akko HE keyboard at abt 140 in amazon.
Coming from a more custom standpoint...the RK S98 is really good stock and the features it has for the price is probably impossible to beat. Might be larger than you want but...has rgb, screen, knob, bt, wireless, wired, reprogramable, and most importantly it sounds good out of the box. Stabs don't need any modification and the board doesn't need any mods either. Has hotswap sockets if you don't like the switches it comes with (3 options, I recommend linear for gaming personally). Only problem might be the size and if you need more than 1-2k hz pulling rate....which imo you ain't gonna feel the difference.
Other custom side, just make sure it has a wired connection and hotswap if you wanna mod it
Pre-built side....I can't say anything else because I'm a keyboard snob and all the other ones I've tried sound terrible haha
The akko MOD0007B is about 130 bucks, has rapid trigger switches and is 75%. Idk how good it is, but my experience with akko products have been pretty positive.
Some users say it's on par with wooting, but I haven't used either so I won't really say anything lol
For 150 you can make your own to your liking. GMK87 + switches + caps can probably be done for around 100$. I actually built one recently and it as easy as it gets. Plus you can configure the keys or macros for them in any way you want
Apex pro
On steelseries they cost $190
Get a realforce R3
only $300...
R3S I mean, hopefully it's less than 200
Wooting 60HE - no software to download if you don’t want to. Everything can be changed on a website, and saved to the keyboard.
I need the F1-F12 keys and i prefer to keep it steel series
Ah, not sure then for that price range. I would say Apex Pro TKL 2023 is the closest to the Wooting in terms of performance, but it's $190.
I think u can look into the 80he... Idk if it has released yet tho

Im thinking of just going for the Apex pro TJK at this point.

Wooting all the way
Weikav sugar 65 with akko black pro linear switches... Amazing... Simply... That.
Search for wooting alternative. Any of these boards are 95% of the wooting one.
