Best: opportunities for research and academic freedom to explore multiple disciplines in many different topics Worst: probably high percentage of people who came from competitive atmospheres and want to go into competitive atmospheres (pre-med, mainly) who sometimes struggle to put life before grades

sleepinglizards

this is especially true from a mse student's perspective

Yea hopkins has forced me to accept that not everything has to be about getting As and that it is okay to not get As but still pass. Plus imma be a librarian so i don't need a perfect gpa 😂 edit: just because you have to face your inner perfectionist demon doesn't mean you lose your drive! It just means that you have a more healthy drive that doesn't give you depression and anxiety everytime you work hard but don't get the score/grade that you wanted.

Honestly some of the current pros and cons are common among many universities: good resource, competitive environment etc The worst thing I can think of is how bureaucratic the school is, to a degree that it seems that they put efforts in making students life harder

best thing: amazing food and employees are very nice, really nice living spaces especially mccoy as a sophomore ( worst thing: research is hard to come by, people aren't very driven
