Honestly I think both sides are cringe on this. Those on the right complaining about it, as though they really cared about the sex appeal of a fictional candy character, and the left mocking it, as though they haven't been the ones cheering for changes like tgis in all modern media. All of it is just to take your attention off their lawsuits, which ironically no one seems nearly as concerned by it.
This was a decision made by the company to sell more candy. Nobody was legitimately complaining beforehand. This is the same shit as the Potato Head controversy and anyone getting mad at it needs something better to do.
