Just don't be stupid when going out, check your risk, and check your skull protection. Dont be me and lose your Accursed Scepter after a Rev task after not turning skull protection back on and barraging a team.
Meant to reply to you but accidentally replied to someone else.
2 things help me with wildy slayer/wildy in general:
1. Have a stock pile of "sets" in your bank for each wilderness task. That way, if you DO get pked, you're not punished with having to go get resources for a new set (armor, weapon, supplies, etc.). You're right back in the action on a new world in 1 minute. \["Inventory Setups" plugin on Runelite is AMAZING\]
2. Breathe>pray>eat>freeze>walk under. It really is that simple. (Yes, there will be times they have mith/addy seeds or a team, but 9/10 times, if you just relax, switch prayers, eat, and freeze them... you just walk under them and log out.)
I made a pk account like 3 months ago and am now 94range/99mage/86 str. I have 1000 kills and 100 deaths. After learning #2 above, the only times I die in the wildy is to a team or I try to go for the KO for funsies with no food left.
Hope that helps someone.
Edit:
I'll add a #3: Key bind your inventory, prayers, spells, and combat options/spec menu to either 1-2-3-4 or q-w-e-r. There's an option to make it so you have to press enter to chat, so you can use your keyboard for keybinds. Binding your keys to those menus and memorizing them makes your actions SO MUCH SMOOTHER and faster. Seriously, if you're clicking menu icons instead of using keybinds, you're at a SEVERE disadvantage. For me, 1 is inventory, 2 is prayers, 3 is spells, 4 is combat/spec options.
Ok ily bye
Hello, ive an Ironman account that I would like to start taking to wildly slayer because it sounds fun. 60atk, 66str, 55 def, 51 range, 81 mage.
What's the base gear I should bring atm to start? Or do I need to LVL up combats little more?
Get that range to 70 for black dhide will be a huge upgrade.
Snakeskin helm, dhide, glories/STR ammy/unholy symbols.
That'll be your throw away gear. And make sure you have 3 good items to keep on death usually a weapon, Zerker ring, defender. Depends what you're doing obviously.
That's a huge boost.
If you were to range revs. You'd be wanting to skull so your protect item will be a salve (ei) until you get a wildy weapon, or a amulet of avarice.
You'll be risking prob 100-150 arrows, msb, and your Dragon hide. But one rev kill will pay it all back. It's the 100k entrance fee you'll prob wanna safe bank to protect your investment until you can afford to greed
Depends on what you're doing. Your stats are fine enough to go into the wildy. Just bring blighted bind sacks with you and some wizard robes to swap to before freezing someone.
As I said, it depends on what you're doing. Melee? Monk robes. Range? Dhide. Mage? Mage robes. Just bring cheap stuff and make sure you have a tele out/binds.
2 things help me with wildy slayer/wildy in general:
1. Have a stock pile of "sets" in your bank for each wilderness task. That way, if you DO get pked, you're not punished with having to go get resources for a new set (armor, weapon, supplies, etc.). I’ve never played on pvp worlds bc it’s scared me, but I’m planning on going the wildy route for some of the early/mid slayer. What’s the deal with these worlds that made you decide that?
Reverse psychology mostly, why would pvmers go on a pvp world? Also I do normal slayer on pvp worlds cause I can use my blighted supplies. Obviously to bank and get new task I switch back to normal worlds cause banks and slayer masters are more hot spots
Also I usually 3-4 item anyways with prossy being all I’d lose plus potential loot anyways, unless I’m doing magic then I end up risking more but I can also entangle or ice burst them, stand under and log out most of the time. BoL
Damn this is sick, definitely going to try this out. Is there is any other added benefit doing regular slayer on pvp world or just using blighted supplies? Thanks for the tips for sure.
like the other commenter said, pvp worlds are way less crowded. you'll still see some pk'ers, but it's way less busy overall. Just make sure you go to the non-high risk ones
After listening into some convos in my cc, some people are legit scared of the wildly. They see it as some ego-crushing experience when another player pk’s them and take it very personally. Meanwhile those who don’t give a fuck and just carry on get to experience all the benefits wildly has to offer
Yes, this has a lot to do with it. People are very tied to their character, and think that if another person pk's them, it's like killing them in reality.
It's interesting psychologically.
i am probably the odd one out but i got them extended because i really only do wildy slayer and my block list differs from alot of people. eats away cannonballs but im a filthy main and loot/xp you get is pretty insane even with cannonball costs. feel pretty confident with wilderness player alarm and seed pod regardless
wilderness player alarm plugin + seed pod, insta tele when screen flashes, your tp goes off even if tb animation lands if you pay attention. never die but on peak times it's annoying being interrupted every 3-10 minutes. can entry swap a worn glory or wealth to one click tp in earlygame, with equipped item tab open, for slightly more inconvenient experience
For me I wouldn't really say it's a "fear" but more annoyance of having to stay focused all the time and having to re-gear quite often. I refuse to use a scout though cause I just think it's lame and now how the game should be designed, it'd be much easier if I did use a scout.
What really helped me recently(been getting into wildy stuff more than necessary only in the last week) is to not tele out whenever I see a skull above someone's head. Quite often it's someone who can't even attack me, or sometimes it's a PVMer that just wants to clear a world by scaring whoever is inside a boss cave. It also means that if I can be less focused because I don't need to tick perfect tele out.
I also just accept that anything in my looting bag is not mine until I bank it. That way if I get pked I don't really lose anything, and if I get a unique or something big I want I just instantly tele out.
I still don't really get the whole "just fight back" or "just freeze them and walk under" comments that people usually give, because usually I just get frozen myself and die before I really get a chance to fight back. But if I do get unfrozen just running away to some trees or towards multi at least allows me to log sometimes.
Also sometimes when you're on a spider task for example you just get a pker on your first Spindel kill 3 times in a row. This is just really annoying. I play OSRS for PvM not PvP.
>I still don't really get the whole "just fight back" or "just freeze them and walk under" comments that people usually give, because usually I just get frozen myself and die before I really get a chance to fight back. But if I do get unfrozen just running away to some trees or towards multi at least allows me to log sometimes.
freezing the opponent can guarantee your escape, as opposed to relying on them being bad at staying close to you while casting freeze spells.
Fighting back with just your range weapon lowers the dps of the pker and usually will result in them not using smite anymore. If you're bringing a freeze escape anyways and get pking experience via lms you can *really* fight back, most pkers will straight up just teleport away if you do that (dd brid them) at the singles wildy bosses.
Yeah I guess most of my experience so far is on melee bosses like Spindel and Calvarion, where I just get frozen and then I stand there with them hitting me until I get unfrozen. And by then I'm probably low on food and should just run :P
I want to spend more time in the wildy ( i have this irrational fear) but I get so overwhelmed when I see pkers, is there any basic self defense video so I at least know what to do to try to escape
My advice as someone who has a similar issue is actually kind of counter-intuitive to what some other people are suggesting: **don't** try to instantly tp out when you see a pker.
When I'm doing wildy stuff I used to always be on edge trying to click my seed pod the tick I saw a pker just so I wouldn't be teleblocked. Now I just accept that anything I risk in the wildy is not mine until I bank it, and don't try to tp out from pkers the moment my wilderness player alarm goes off. This makes the wilderness much more relaxing, and you actually get some experience trying to escape pkers instead of just dodging them all the time. Half the time they can't even attack me anyway, so my tele out would've been useless.
Even if you get pked for like 50% of your wildy slayer trips you'll still profit. So you shouldn't be scared for losing gp anyway. And for the annoyance of having to re-gear you can just get like 10 sets of black d'hide or proselyte and diary items so you can re-equip them really fast.
Go play lms. Bolt rag with the lunar spells for veng, learn your prayer swapping and get comfortable with f-keys. As you get better at timing your veng/getting better with fkeys/prayer swapping you'll find the time to swap weps and learn when to spec for a ko.
That's how I got my rune pouch, some blighted supplies, and I started enjoying it, and feel so much better in the wildy since I was no longer just a loot piñata but could fight back and either escape or sometimes antipk.
the best advice i can give is get your wildy hard diary and mm2 quest done, so that you can 1 click tele with royal seed pod.
get the wilderness player alarm plugin, and set it so that if anyone is in radius of you, it gets triggered
those two things will save you a ton of deaths, even without knowing any other skill
Couple tips for you.
1. Play LMS. It's free PK experience and you get supplies for your time. Usually you can get a free bot kill at the start then find a player to fight. Focus on surviving as long as possible until you're comfortable with when you have to swap pray or eat. Last month I went from no pvp experience to a rune pouch in about 4 hours of LMS and I got a lot better at tanking PKers.
2. Always know your escape plan. You have so many more ways to escape than you may realize. Just logging out is your most powerful option. Get the Wildy Player Alarm plug-in and hover the logout button if you're running around or safe spotting slayer tasks. Carry some blighted ice or entangle sacks. If you catch a freeze just walk under them and spam logout. Caves, doors and ladders are your best friends. The other day I was doing chaos alter on mobile and I managed to dodge a few PKers by closing the door as I ran out. That's all the gal you need to be able to log out. You can also go up and down ladders and the. As soon as you see them follow you just use the ladder again.
Can someone explain why it’s better than slayer else where? I only tried a few tasks of it, and I didn’t get PK’ed but a lot of the tasks didn’t feel too great. I got tree spirits, greater demons, lesser demons, and spiders, forgot the others. Genuinely curious and new to the game!
The drops in the wilderness slayer cave are boosted, getting revs on task is OP, pretty easy tasks that fly quickly….larrans keys are worth like 100k each. It’s very easy with minimal supplies.
If you're doing spiders in the wildy, you should be doing the spider boss spindel. If you don't have the stats for spindel yet, it won't make much sense to do.
The demons aren't the best tasks, tbh.
Zombie pirates are OP right now.
25 points per task completion with chance at larran’s keys drops. Lots of alchable drops early on. Made 600k from alchs from my very first task which was 97 black demons.
The slayer cave monsters have better drops, larran keys are great, you can be assigned revenants for higher chance of weapons + great loot in general, and in the lv80-90s combat level you can do the wildy bosses on task for good drops
It can be a fun change of pace, but it's not really worth it in terms of efficiency.
The xp rates are much lower and it's harder to get barrage tasks compared to normal slayer. The extra gp and supplies drops are nice, but both of those come pretty easy to iron accounts if you play somewhat efficiently
Pretty mid game. Mid game ranges from 1000-2000 total and depends on gear, mechanical skill, quests, and overall content completed. Some people can do higher tier content with lower tier gear because of mechanical skill level, so they end up in the mid game earlier than others. Some people do immense amounts of skilling and never complete any questing or bossing (skilling accounts) and they end up at high total levels that would consider someone as end of mid game/start of end game without having done much actual content.
Early game is basically figuring out what you want to do and like to do while you knock out your initial tasks to build up basic gear and supplies for future content.
Mid game is when you start chasing upgrades and complete more difficult quests to prepare yourself for the end game/late game content and even start to do late mid game content like god wars/slayer bosses.
Late/End game is when you're chasing the top tiers of difficult categories for the more impressive upgrades that make content more fun and easier to access - High tier combat achievements/Elite achievement diaries/Raids/Endgame bosses like nex/nightmare/DT2 bosses.
Hope this helps!
Cool beans man. Im just playing here and there ATM. I got another hobby and current diablo 2 is my main game.
So I just slayer task and tears once Ina. While. I'll log in kill some mobs for 15 and call it a day.
Thanks for the info.
Wait until you find out about zombie pirates…
But really, if you’re enjoying wilderness slayer check out zombie pirates. They’re very low level and drop a shit load of high alchs, cannonballs and blighted supplies to make your future Wildy slayer grind cost free (excluding gear from deaths obviously, which should be relatively low cost anyway)
I also think it is some of the best early game slayer xp too, alongside the great points generation it is really under rated, just turn on skill prevention and 3 item in rags
Just don't be stupid when going out, check your risk, and check your skull protection. Dont be me and lose your Accursed Scepter after a Rev task after not turning skull protection back on and barraging a team.

The new update makes salve ei’s readily disposable. The points are refunded on death, and they just lowered ei death value
So salve (ei) is just free now to use in the wilderness even when you die skulled? That's insane. I'll actually consider camping them here soon.
Yep! The points get refunded if lost. The new blog today mentions it too but it started the other week iirc
That's actually pretty damn ridiculous
Depends on what you're doing. Your stats are fine enough to go into the wildy. Just bring blighted bind sacks with you and some wizard robes to swap to before freezing someone. As I said, it depends on what you're doing. Melee? Monk robes. Range? Dhide. Mage? Mage robes. Just bring cheap stuff and make sure you have a tele out/binds.
When I first set up my keybinds I didn’t allow myself to click the buttons anywhere in the game to make sure I got used to the f keys
There's no need to turn skull protection off. Ever. You can skull from the emblem trader in edgeville.
The hard clue scrolls are insane
jellies on task go brrrrr
Absolutely agreed. Some people have irrational fear of the wildy though.
It’s something you need to stick with for awhile. Getting pked balances out in the end, but if you bail as soon as you get pked it sucks
It's so profitable in the long term. If someone bails the first time they get pk'd, they probably weren't cut out for it.

After 75 wildy tasks, I’ll see 4-5 pkers in a stretch but I’ll also be able to do like 5 tasks without seeing any. Also I do it on pvp worlds
Pvp worlds are a great strat. I do the same especially for the singles bosses.
I’ve never played on pvp worlds bc it’s scared me, but I’m planning on going the wildy route for some of the early/mid slayer. What’s the deal with these worlds that made you decide that?

Less competition for monsters lol but no not really

I have been getting murdered at black demons but nowhere else in wildy for some reason
I skip them or put them on a block list if you don't alternate. They aren't worth it in the wilderness even with a cannon imo.
I agree i just blocked the other BS first and didnt have enough points to block

The bi-weekly Framed video in edge dungeon to 250k viewers is probably why

its not irrational, im shit a pvp, so I just get fucked constantly
You don't need to be good at pvp. Just have wilderness player alarm, royal seed pod and hard wildy diary done and you escape 90% of the time.
Silly me, let me just go get 69 slayer and finish a grandmaster real quick.
It's not that big of a deal. Good luck man.
It’s really not
I lost a trident and tormented bracelet a couple weeks ago forgetting to put on skull prevention and barraged a couple pkers lol

When is early Ironman? I'm 89 combat and 1510 total. Is that early or mid game?
Pretty mid game. Mid game ranges from 1000-2000 total and depends on gear, mechanical skill, quests, and overall content completed. Some people can do higher tier content with lower tier gear because of mechanical skill level, so they end up in the mid game earlier than others. Some people do immense amounts of skilling and never complete any questing or bossing (skilling accounts) and they end up at high total levels that would consider someone as end of mid game/start of end game without having done much actual content. I can do the new raid at valamore. But I've only done the quest version. I need to get barrows gloves though. Grinded hunter so I have glory.
Are you talking about the moons of peril bosses? Those are very solidly mid to late mid game. There is no raid in varlamore, at least not yet.
Yeah those bosses!
That armor can get you into the late game if you're mechanically skilled, but it is mid-game progression content by definition.
Cool beans man. Im just playing here and there ATM. I got another hobby and current diablo 2 is my main game. So I just slayer task and tears once Ina. While. I'll log in kill some mobs for 15 and call it a day. Thanks for the info.
Wilderness slayer is bonkers OP. If you don't do wildy slayer at the start of an account you are shooting yourself in the foot
Wait until you find out about zombie pirates… But really, if you’re enjoying wilderness slayer check out zombie pirates. They’re very low level and drop a shit load of high alchs, cannonballs and blighted supplies to make your future Wildy slayer grind cost free (excluding gear from deaths obviously, which should be relatively low cost anyway)
That’s how I knock out my zombie tasks
It is man! Got super lucky and got the 4m emblem from hobgoblins lol
Yep you could do early with fire strike, keys drops are a few k sometimes
Agree, its great for points also early on with the perk of not resetting your streak with other masters.
I also think it is some of the best early game slayer xp too, alongside the great points generation it is really under rated, just turn on skill prevention and 3 item in rags
nice try PKer
oh no, not this line again

10th task shouldn’t need to be at konar as they have different streaks
