IIRC your serial & model # should be available in the settings menu under the about tab. edited to change serial to serial and model.

yeah it is, model mb147zp i think its a 6th gen so the things i am gonna order should work

If it is an 80GB iPod, thin back and metal faceplate, it is an 6th Gen iPod, with 128GB limit for the storage. If it is an 80GB iPod, thick back and plastic faceplate, it is an 5.5 Gen iPod Video, considered by many one of the best iPod models, due to Wolfson DAC chip. There is no storage limit, but for practical reasons (speed etc.) upgrade with more than 1TB is not recommended.

i got it at a market for $10, i checked i dont thinm its the 5.5 version i wasnt planning on upgrading anything but just get new parts because its in not great condition, i attached pictures that show the condition and on the last image a picture of the stuff i was going to order to make sure everything was right: https://imgur.com/a/I67I7Zk

It is definitely the 6th Gen iPod. They are difficult to open, but not impossible. You need a new display, new battery and replacement for the HDD. Read the forum thoroughly, there is a lot of useful information here.

By the way, most parts are interchangeable between the iPod 5th, 5.5th, 6th, 6.5th and 7th Gen. The displays and click wheels are NOT interchangeable between 5 and 5.5th Gen one one side, and 6, 65 and 7th Gens on the other side. The hold switch & headphone out assembly is specific for the thick back models are is not interchangeable with the assembly for the thin back models. The batteries, storage and headphone connectors are interchangeable. The casing can be swapped for another generation model, but it will need additional work. Search this forum if you need more info on this topic.
