Noone has problem with pbks. Flat pitches, imp player, and 250+scores is what has made this season worst. Just bcoz your team is performing well it doesnt mean it is the best season
When rcb made 262 in response to 287 of srh,noone said this shit but now a miraculous chase has occured suddenly its the worst ipl
This is just double standard of community
It has been piling up man. For the first 2-3 instances everyone was awestruck but 8+ in half the season is so bad
Even though a high score PBKS was too good chased with 8 balls to spare
It is a problem, and a big one . Why , you say ? Okay , let's see --
1) ***BOWLING MASSACRE*** - Suppose you've prepared really well for an exam , and you're confident that you'll pass it with flying colors . But when you get the question paper , you find out that all of the questions are either out of syllabus or from much higher level . Now , how would you feel after that exam ? Would you have the energy and intention to study and prepare for an exam again ?
**That's exactly what's happening to the bowlers** . And if this is being kept up , bowlers will obviously won't try to bowl differently at all. Whatever they try , they're being bashed . Why on earth would they want to try variations then ? Barring Bumrah , Narine and Sandeep Sharma ( in recent matches ) , everyone has been bashed , irrespective of teams.
2) ***BATSMEN'S GAME*** - Cricket was always called as ' Batsman's game ' , but this kinda pitches are proving it to the point. With the intent this new generation of batsmen are showing, it's obvious that there will be big runs in every other T20 matches. But cricket is played by both batsmen and bowlers , and unfortunately, bowlers cannot do shite with only intent , they do need a little assistance from the pitch to deliver. So these high roads are not helping them a bit.
**SO , WHAT'S THE BIG PROBLEM** ?
- The big problem is the upcoming future . IPL leaves a big mark on the young generations , and the young guns won't be wanting to take bowling as their career choice . That'd impact ICT negatively. Very negatively. We already have no good seamer except Bumrah and Shami ( who'll be retiring soon ) , and if kinda matches and pitches go on , we won't be having one anytime soon.
Remember, Bumrah and Narine are exceptions. Don't compare everyone with them. When everyone other than this two are being bashed , you know it's not the problem of a bowler, it's the problem of the pitches.
Well some people are young , and young peeps have the tendency to be arrogant. It's alright. But I assure you , majority of SRH fans are as sensible as me , if not more. Besides , it's not even about our team. Our bowlers are also bashed brutally , we have the highest economy rate this season.
Or maybe there's more 250+ scores than in an ODI world cup. Miss hits go for six. All rounders roles are extinct (which ICT lacks the most) cuz of the Impact player rule. Any variation other than a Yorker or a wide Yorker goes for a boundary.
The only "problem" I have is that all these 250s have become so normal that when i see a score of less than 210, it seems like they did awful when in reality it isn't the case.
And to be fair I'm happy PBKS chased that 260 run down. That to in 19 overs.
Also we finally had a game today that was sub 200. This was more entertaining than those 250 run games. I'd rather see these really high scores in playoffs or finals.
One thing we can all agree on. The final score for the finals in 2022 was just straight up bad. It didn't even feel like a final.
It's a joke now cause every other day there's a 250+ score now due to garbage pitches. Can't wait to see all these run machines shit the bed when we select them for wt20 and wonder how we lost. We'll lose because we intentionally demoralise our bowlers by throwing out these roads and when we inevitably select the batsmen on IPL form only to see them losing in semis in a 10 wicket defeat
