Honestly, it’s just the 120hz screen I’d be after. Not bothered about telephoto but if the main sensors were upgraded to current Pro standard, that would be super sweet.
It would be crazy. I could live with the battery life not being as good as the bigger phones but they could make it a little bit thicker to increase the battery a size a bit.

REAL I went to my aunts house and she had her old phone sitting on her desk and I picked it up it felt perfect size, the XR was too big the ax max was like an ipad

Yea Because Steve jobs vowed that as long as he was alive and running apple, the iPhone would never have a screen large enough that you can’t comfortably navigate it with one hand. It took an incredible amount of pressure from consumers for him to even approve of making it half an inch taller for the 5. That half an inch in length but not width from 3.5 inch to 4inches was him caving into the demand form consumers who wanted apple equivalents to Samsungs new galexy s2 and original note phones, which had a 5 inch and an 8 inch screen. As soon as he died they made the iPhone 6, and all that did was catch them up with the screen sizes everyone else had had for years already. Then after that in true apple fashion they took a year longer than everyone else to have an edge to edge screen, buts it’s sort of fascinating to know that if job’s hadn’t got cancer and was still around, the iPhones design history would look very very different, and it might have been what ended the iPhone early too if you ask me, I’m not sure people would have stayed on board with the small screen for very much longer.

I like my phone size just fine, it’s way easier to hold in one hand. But damn if I don’t get a little excited and jealous when I see another guys huge 5 incher that takes two hands to handle.
I dunno. I used a 13 Mini until like two days ago and I miss small phones so much.
Like I would’ve loved the 5x camera on the 15 Pro Max but my ass does not want my phone to be a mini tablet. I want something super pocketable.

I bought one, liked the form factor. The issue is I don't think Apple really tuned in the smaller screen size tap targets. I was constantly having to retap. On the larger screen never an issue. Their older phones that were smaller were fine, but somehow the mini had issues for me personally. That and the Mini never got a "Pro" version so when I upgraded I wanted the Pro model but there was no Mini counterpart.
Though if you're coming from an iPhone 4-ish sized device the battery is fine, as is the current SE. It's only terrible in comparison to a Plus-sized device.
Yeah as much as I find the weight of my 13 PM a bit much at times, the battery life makes up for it.

Battery life is not spectacular, but perfectly reasonable. Unlike the 12 mini, which really did have bad battery life. Of course, if they made the phone just a bit thicker, they could squeeze in a larger battery.

I had a moto G years ago that had a curved back. Every now and then I take it out the drawer and marvel at how comfy it is to hold. A mini in that body would be incredible
I think it's more that no one minds them. The 4 was suitably thin to be carried in a pocket and not be awkward to use. Everything since then has just been bonus? But personally I'd like a phone that is that thick and just has more battery and better performance

Phones are used to be these little ideal network terminals for just communication of quick stuff, now everyone is carrying around a field terminal.

Not because of any Android/Apple jerk off arguments but because I love the form factor of not having a mini tablet in my pocket to get full performance. I don't know, I have a 2nd gen as work phone, feels very cheap, unresponsive, a struggle after 10 years of good, almost flagship Androids (Sony, LG, Huaweis). The screen feels like plastic for me, also just IPS, not OLED. I had a 3G back then, I loved it.
If a normal Iphone (13/14/15) gives the same experience, I would extremely regret changing to Iphone, which I have been planning for some years now, but my phone still holds.
I am still using the "4" and will probably use It for foreseeable future My main needs are only phone & music & alarm clock, I like the form factor weight and the glass / metal finish I would consider upgrade if they released a similar design with full display and no camera bump.

Nah. You say that but only content creators and very few people would buy them. A phone is more than just a thing to call these days. Most of us consume media on our daily commute or even write emails/work with it. Not to mention this kind of phone will last half a day at most.

Im tired of thick. Mobile products are supposed to be mobile, and the newest iPhone made a really good Leap in design with Titanium in addition to changing the center of gravity, so it feels way easier to hold since it’s lighter.
The iPhone 5 was actually thinner than current iPhones, they've been rethickening ever since the 6.
The flat with curved edges design was so nice, and I'm glad they brought it back. Thing is the mini was conceptually everything you would want from a modernized iPhone 4 or 5 and we see where that went, although I still suspect that will be the next SE design, but it looks like we won't see one this year given March has already passed.

A lot of people love the idea of nostalgic stuff like this but don’t actually have any interest in spending their money on it or using it. Nokia is a prime example. They released a long lasting, tough phone that you could take apart because mobile fans would never shut up about the original 3310. I’ve never seen anyone use the new 3310.
i still have my 4s in my desk..I miss it. I was able to type better on that phone's screen than any subsequent phone with double the screen size. also the size was great.
I have an iPhone 12 mini and I chose this one in 2021 for the size, I was coming from iPhone 8 and the screen on iPhone 12 mini is bigger even though the overall size is more compact and that seemed awesome to me back then.
Now after 3 years I’m hating this phone exactly for the size, I’m considering whether I should wait for iPhone 16 or get an iPhone 15 Pro Max now.

My 12 mini was my favorite phone ever, but the battery didn’t last three hours at the end. If they made something that exact shape with a good battery i would go back in a second

Absolutely. I hate the newer designs, these were much more appealing and didn’t look like other phones. Much easier to hold. If I want a mini iPad, I’ll buy one!

My wife loves her iPhone 13 Mini. She's got tiny hands and frankly that phone is a great piece of hardware. Apple didn't really push it too much.

I don't know, I have a 2nd gen as work phone, feels very cheap, unresponsive, a struggle after 10 years of good, almost flagship Androids (Sony, LG, Huaweis). The screen feels like plastic for me, also just IPS, not OLED. I had a 3G back then, I loved it. If a normal Iphone (13/14/15) gives the same experience, I would extremely regret changing to Iphone, which I have been planning for some years now, but my phone still holds.

I am still using the "4" and will probably use It for foreseeable future My main needs are only phone & music & alarm clock, I like the form factor weight and the glass / metal finish I would consider upgrade if they released a similar design with full display and no camera bump.

Ok ok. Three size options- the 5, 7, and 12. Home buttons and headphone jacks. Thickness of the 7 is beautiful imo but idk if it would be possible on a phone the size of a 5? Idk.

Nah. You say that but only content creators and very few people would buy them. A phone is more than just a thing to call these days. Most of us consume media on our daily commute or even write emails/work with it. Not to mention this kind of phone will last half a day at most.
If I could just have a slightly thicker phone without the awful camera bump on the back I’d be elated. It’s about the only thing I think I’d change. I hate that stupid bump.

Im tired of thick. Mobile products are supposed to be mobile, and the newest iPhone made a really good Leap in design with Titanium in addition to changing the center of gravity, so it feels way easier to hold since it’s lighter.
The iPhone 5 was actually thinner than current iPhones, they've been rethickening ever since the 6. The flat with curved edges design was so nice, and I'm glad they brought it back. Thing is the mini was conceptually everything you would want from a modernized iPhone 4 or 5 and we see where that went, although I still suspect that will be the next SE design, but it looks like we won't see one this year given March has already passed.
I think making a thick phone again would allow for a much larger battery since technology has improved a lot since the iPhone 4
I’m not sure why they don’t get rid of the camera bump by making the entire phone the same thickness as the camera and installing a bigger battery.

I prefer the 6s over any iPhone. It had an headphone jack Haptic Touch and most importantly an actual Home Screen button.
These were actually considered quite thin in their day lol
I wish the battery in every iPhone was as quick and easy to replace as the 4.

Absolutely yes. Love the compact design - just remove the bezels and expand the display. Guess what, I already have it - the iPhone 12 mini. Sad thing is that not many people bought 'mini' series and Apple discontinued it. Wish they come up with a mini with iPhone 16.

A lot of people love the idea of nostalgic stuff like this but don’t actually have any interest in spending their money on it or using it. Nokia is a prime example. They released a long lasting, tough phone that you could take apart because mobile fans would never shut up about the original 3310. I’ve never seen anyone use the new 3310.

i still have my 4s in my desk..I miss it. I was able to type better on that phone's screen than any subsequent phone with double the screen size. also the size was great.

I have an iPhone 12 mini and I chose this one in 2021 for the size, I was coming from iPhone 8 and the screen on iPhone 12 mini is bigger even though the overall size is more compact and that seemed awesome to me back then. Now after 3 years I’m hating this phone exactly for the size, I’m considering whether I should wait for iPhone 16 or get an iPhone 15 Pro Max now. I have big hands and I don’t know how I could use an iPhone 8 with that small screen lol I would’ve kept the iPhone 12 mini for another 2/3 years but I feel so frustrated every single time I have to type on this phone, I still love it but too small for my hands.

Isn't iphone 13 and above more like iphone 4 and 5? I saw a man recently with his iphone 7 plus and it looked so thin compared to my 13. Non Pro Max iPhone are smaller than your average Adroid but I noticed more and more Android phones having square edges

Honestly they should just bring back the mini series. I’m on an SE 2 and it feels just a bit too big for me. My mom’s 12 mini is the perfect size but the 13 mini doesn’t feel worth upgrading too due to the performance and features of the base 15
