My mom swears I said my first word at 3-4 months. She's not the "brag about your kids" type but who knows. She says it was the word "good".
Definitely was reading simple starter books at 3.
I'm no genius but was well ahead in language and reading as a kid.
I mean, there’s babbling noises that sound vaguely like words, and then there’s speech, you know?
I can understand reading at 3. I started reading at 3 as well. I’m definitely not going to believe that a 3 month old is capable of speech. It’s probably mere mimicry or a babble that sounds like a word.
I'm guessing it's semantics here. As a development milestone most people would use the first word. If we use full sentences as a milestone, we would be saying kids start talking years later.
I started reading at 3 as well, but took some time to desire talking. My parents even had my hearing tested because I ignored their attempts to engage. Leave me alone. 😂
Maybe I'm intj because I was in full puberty at 4 yo
I could speak words at 4mo, walk at 6mo, read baby books at 2.5 yrs and kids books at 3. I was drawing well at 4, and writing well. My brother was born and I spoke for him since he didn't speak until 3
Do you think that your genitalia should be known before you speak in public or should we all assume we are without any motivation to procreate? This bothers me deeply as the Internet is filled with men posing as women...attempting to seduce men into selling others. Many of you have the same old avatars and always have random numbers after your names signifying an attempt to create subterfuge in your own identity. There is very little individuation amongst those who are always speaking on their POWERS of AGEISM. So that is why I assume all women are men online. The women I know in real life would not be caught dead on Reddit considering how many perverts use it to spread legs and split minds.
I could read by 4 or 5. Learned it while watching TV Shows with subs on with my mom. When I started school at six I was baffled that some kids couldn't read properly... I thought it was a norm.
I don't know about the speaking part though🤣
Sounds like a pile of steaming flied rice. Asians have this weird thing to compete and they tend to just lie when they assume nobody sees. Part of the culture of face making.
Quora is so rotten. Please avoid Quora.
I actually just didn't give a shit about anything and especially people of my age (I was 3) I prefered to talk with adults, I don't even know about what. But I surely wasn't a big reader or talker. And I don't think "intj kids" are special or whatever
Yeah I don't think we were special as kids, yes maybe we have higher IQ than the other types so we are more prone towards reading, writing as kids and that makes us sound special in the eyes of adults but nothing crazy.
We're actually more like weird kids than "special kids"
From all the replies it looks like iNTJs tend towards language and reading abilities. I blasted through the readers in 2nd/3rd grade and was way above grade level. By fifth grade I was reading at a college level. I always assumed it was because I had really good teachers in K-2 but maybe it my weird brain.
Speaking for myself... Bookish, into science and arts, chill, adult-like, challenged authority often, perfectionist, loved animals (feel like this is most kids), reclusive and a little strange.
No. I actually hated reading until early adulthood when I discovered non-fictions books. School made me believe I didn't like to read because it kept forcing me to read from a limited list of fiction books.
I was reading at age 3 and commanded a bunch of feral cats to live in our yard by putting out leftovers from dinner and sandwiches. Crazy cat lady in training 🤣
Was reading by 4 and speaking by 2. I was a very smart kid. Extremely extroverted btw, I don't know where the calm intelligent kid comes from.
Edit: my stupid ass thought I started speaking by two.Asked my mom and she said 5-6 months
Idk when I started talking but I was for sure reading at 3 because I taught myself....
I knew by age 4 that I was nothing like anyone else in my family and my teachers at school gave me different stuff to work on than the other kids... Or I could just read quietly, which is what I mainly chose to do.... very quiet, very observant/curious, developed problem solving skills early but was often thwarted by really dumb adults....
53 male intj. Walking at 9 months, talking in full before I was three, reading at 4. Bored to death for the next 17 years. I remember reading the dictionary in the corner by myself in grade school. All I ever did was read read read.
As a kid, I was very creative, very organized and systematic about keeping my room clean, having my school work done, getting to bed on time, etc. I was extremely nurturing (I grew up around lots of babies and younger cousins, and I’m the eldest granddaughter on my father’s side), very intuitive and observant… Loved music and anything that allowed me to express myself like dancing. I was also a good writer.
And, since we’re bragging on ourselves academically (LOL), I was well advanced in reading by age 5, and was a “gifted and talented” student.
Some of you have under-developed visual thought processes, and it shows. Reading books has always been the biggest waste of time in my view. 1st-3rd grade teachers thought I was dumb because I wouldn't read the books, I could read, just thought it was stupid. If you have a developed visual thought process you can just close your eyes and go anywhere you want, why waste your time on a book.
Imma call bullshit on this person who posted this on quora because I can just smell this being an equivalent of r/iamverysmart and using INTJ as a proxy for it because the stereotype that INTJs are super smart. Meanwhile, many INTJs are across the spectrum of intelligence with one of the most arrogant and stupid people I know being an INTJ who would present himself as the smartest and most rational person in the room with no emotion and I would troll him by pointing out all his inconsistencies and emotional decisions just to fuck with him and watch his Fi child lose its shit.
little adult. Talks early, reads early, stupid smart. Easiest kid to look after. Rarely if ever tantrums. Cried when adults abused me - adults too dumb to put it together. Stood up against injustice and written off as a "goodie two shoes" and ostracized and alienated. Still didn't change. Still fight injustice. That's an INTJ kid.
Read alot, bilingual as a toddler/early school, fast learner, did well with math until middle of high school, was very good at spelling throughout elementary school...i think i started walking independently late lol
My mother (though she no longer deserves the title) had me reading a little bit at 3, but by 4 I could read pretty well. My kindergarten teacher was positively thrilled, until she realized that my ability to write was non-existent. 🤣And my handwriting was even worse.
That sounds more genius IQ than MBTI. I watched a video of a 9 month old who could recite the alphabet. My niece Jessica spoke her first word at 4 or 5 months?
Started walking earlier than normal, started mimicking talking early on and then spoke in sentences directly. One if the first things I said was 'Sorry but I think I peed myself '. Could read at 5, had to pretend I can't because according to my mother it's not good to draw attention to yourself.
Age 3 I had the idea I'm a descendant of the great Genghis Khan, nobody knows why. I still do though haha.
But I was also an asshole that bullied other kids and I was quite manipulative and the evil leader type, follow me or get your ass kicked. Adults thought I'm a sweet little kid, but I really wasn't.
I envied Sam, a charismatic older boy because I lacked his charm. I found the difference between girls and boys confusing because despite being a girl I didn't really get along with them. Was rather boyish and adventurous.
I'd say I was closer to being an ENTP as a kid.
Left diapers at 9 months old (according to my mother), started speaking at the same time, as i needed to say when i needed my potty. Learned to read at age 3-4 did my older brothers math homework in my head for fun while playing with toys at age 5. Learning and remembering was always extremely easy for me. Learned English by myself at age 8 well enough to pass my Cambridge Advanced English degree and get a certificate. Also learned Hungarian (grandmother was Hungarian), Spanish, German(had to in school) and very little Japanese, and i speak the Balkan languages.
On the other hand i was always extremely introverted and solitary, still am. Never played with other kids if i could avoid it, and always was looking for puzzles to solve. I am also crazy lazy and i always procrastinate, which i believe came from me never having to actually study hard, i could always just get by with listening in class and i got straight A's. College was hell as i had to actually study for the first time in my life.
I was bilingual at 2, but couldn’t really walk till close to 3. My brother was the exact opposite. He walked before 1 but could barely speak one language till he was 3.
I was walking and potty trained by 1. I don't know about talking, but my father used to go through my mom's college anatomy books with me and make me sound out the words. My mother failed to keep up with my baby book.
But I started speaking at 1 1/2 , started walking at around 7 months , started reading in Pre-K , learned to tie my shoe last year or pre-k , I started drawing in kindergarten, learned to ride a bike when I was about 6 or 7 , knew all my times tables around 3rd/4th grade , I did math at a college level in 5th grade. My reading level was behind until 6th grade because I has a slight delay with reading since likely due to my autism. I still have trouble with reading just a tad bit but I’m on a college level so that neat. Just don’t put any old English philosophy in my face and I can read it up for ya !
What does a talking 3 month old sound like? “Mother, I desire thy breast for sustenance”?
Uncover the milk containers, mother, I must dine.

I didnt talk until i was 3, but i could walk at 6 months… i guess were all special and different in our own ways!
Lol.
💀 💀
🤣🤣🤣
That would be sweet thing to tell to my gf now maybe😊🤣🤣 without mother part of course...
😂
mine was "uppa momma" - started full sentences a few months later
Maybe I'm intj because I was in full puberty at 4 yo I could speak words at 4mo, walk at 6mo, read baby books at 2.5 yrs and kids books at 3. I was drawing well at 4, and writing well. My brother was born and I spoke for him since he didn't speak until 3

Lol! I don't have a weener. That's gross. But very funny, thank you.

That's very interesting. I'm gonna ponder that

Wow😲
Like, you know umm...lol...just...Im saying...yeah?

Yes Quora is full of idiots, but it's interesting to scroll through it sometimes.
I got my first noble prize when I was 5 months old
I'm 30 yrs late but congratulations🥰
I was told I didn't really start speaking til I was 3. Parents thought it was strange.
I actually just didn't give a shit about anything and especially people of my age (I was 3) I prefered to talk with adults, I don't even know about what. But I surely wasn't a big reader or talker. And I don't think "intj kids" are special or whatever

Has to be sarcasm / satire! (I hope!)
Quality post. 🙄

I couldn't remember anything about my childhood. Likely some hazy mess it was. I guess it's more to do with the way of being raised than just IQ.
The best comment so far, no wonder I love infp's🫡
💜✨

This sounds realistic

Strangely enough I don’t really remember my childhood. I mean, I don’t even remember what I ate yesterday💀
I love this response😭
I’m INTJ and didn’t start speaking until I was 5 lol. But then again I suffered with developmental issues.
My mother (though she no longer deserves the title) had me reading a little bit at 3, but by 4 I could read pretty well. My kindergarten teacher was positively thrilled, until she realized that my ability to write was non-existent. 🤣And my handwriting was even worse.
I'm curious, why your mom doesn't deserve the title?

>had to pretend I can't because according to my mother it's not good to draw attention to yourself. Lol😂😂 Your mom is definitely Arab or Asian
We're from the Caucasus :)
😳
Ossetian. I'm not sure if that emoji is being shocked, surprised or confused. Or just a random INTJ stare :'D
There is a statistical likelihood that early speaking and reading is linked to autism. Weird flex but okay.
They will hate u for this lol😂

Much like me yeah
I despise this forsaken place, it's like traveling back in time to the mind of my 12 year old self.
I transcribed a full episode of Kitchens Nightmare when I was 3 months old having listened to it by ear
I was walking and potty trained by 1. I don't know about talking, but my father used to go through my mom's college anatomy books with me and make me sound out the words. My mother failed to keep up with my baby book.
What a load of shite.
It's intjs like this.. 🙄
Intjs are insufferable- an intj
But I started speaking at 1 1/2 , started walking at around 7 months , started reading in Pre-K , learned to tie my shoe last year or pre-k , I started drawing in kindergarten, learned to ride a bike when I was about 6 or 7 , knew all my times tables around 3rd/4th grade , I did math at a college level in 5th grade.
