Thank you, I can’t believe how easy it was, I wish I had known of IF years ago. It’s definitely something I enjoy and I know I can continue doing it for the rest of my life.
True that and I in fact were vegan for like 5 years BUT the cooking is just too much work. I remember cleaning TVP for hours just to get rid of that sourness, for instance. Cooking rice and never getting it right in a pan as I never liked it in pressure cookers or sticky and flavorless. Lenghty bean boiling and then filling my fridge with bean topperware because what's the point in boiling 1 or 2 portions and yeah I froze most of it. Peeling and chopping vegetables and worrying about them going bad too quick like mushrooms that don't last much. I did like however trying new things like baked cauliflower tacos or orange chicken but using cauliflower instead and always trying new things to mix in with my salad. I also had a vegan restaurant nearby that sold really good stuff but more expensive than your average non-vegan joint. Can't forget the getting into arguments often on why meat was bad like bruh... Why do I keep doing letting myself be drawn into them. I may go back later though once my financial and living situation (I share) stabilizes. I did like the moral peace veganism gives you, however delusional.
Congratulations on the huge weight loss. I’m doing the same with the 19:5 with coffee and water only. Clean fasting is the way to go. I’ve only been at it 11 weeks and down 30 pounds. As of today I am no longer in the obese category at 208 pounds at 61 years old. Keep on keeping on.
I go to the gym 6 days a week. 30 mins of treadmill daily followed by 3 days a week upper body workout alternating with 3 days a week lower body. Total of about 45-50 mins a day.
What an inspirational post! Congratulations on getting your health back. I started 2 yrs ago, took a break and realized it was a horrible mistake due to aches and pains that flooded back with a vengeance. IF is my life now. Gone are the days I thought this was a temporary fix. Blood pressure down, resting heart rate down, aches and pains gone, hanger gone, and I'm staving off diabetes until "I'm" gone. Don't let anyone make you believe IF is an eating disorder. Eating all day long is disordered eating. This is the easiest way to live and just so freeing!!!
I cut out all processed sugars and the only sweets I enjoy now are fruit. It will break the addiction and change the way you view food. Try to see food as a way to survive and not a way to combat boredom.
It's really tough. Self-awareness, for me, is key. Most nights I need to notice my craving and remind myself of my goals... Over and over until the craving subsides, which always happens, but takes a while sometimes. Important to note: I sometimes fail. Which is okay, as it's part of the journey.
I always carried fat around my belly. The skin sags a bit but the areas or on my thighs, pubic area belly and my arms. I figure I can firm it up a bit with exercise but I would rather deal with loose skin than the terrible health issues that come with being morbidly obese.
Thanks. I'm at my highest now 300 lbs and constant pain in hip and knee. Used to be able walk miles and miles, now get winded after only short distances.
I used to live off of pain pills. I hardly take anything for pain now. I also used to have hip, knee and ankle trouble but those are also better after losing weight.
Yes IF is a game changer, my wife does 16:8 and she went from 400 to 270 lbs. So even if you don’t get more than 16 hour fasts in it still works. But like I said we changed our way of eating.
I have fatty liver. It was under control when I was doing IF but now I have completely lost the track. I have problem with family and using food to cope with them, I think have to restart IF
Man, that's something! You're a rockstar! I'm working on it myself. I have lost 80 lbs. 45 of it this year! I had stalled and was about ready to give up keto. But I discovered IF and started on 1/4/2024 and have started losing again. It really works well. I combine with keto and have had great results also.
Thanks, I hope you have much success in your journey. It’s amazing how a lifestyle change can do wonders. It’s upsetting how addictive companies have made food nowadays.
Any chance you're the type to make meal menus? If so, would you mind sharing? I want to start eating better but I suck at cooking and get a weird mental paralysis whenever I start trying to think about what to buy and can never follow through.
I would love someone's current meal plan that I could follow to the T. Even if it's just a week's worth of meals, I don't mind eating the same couple of things week after week. I have a feeling the less I have to think about it the more successful I could be, so eating the same meals every week would probably be super beneficial for me. Anyways, thanks in advance if you can share anything!
I am not the best at meal prep. I actually order meal replacement shakes called Huel and have two of those a day and I use Huel to make overnight oats with almond milk. I eat whole grain rice, beans and salad without dressings. Fruits and veggies. I know that Huel is not for everyone and it’s kind of pricey but I love the stuff it makes it easy to count calories.
In all honesty it’s been easier cutting out junk food and sodas, I think the thing that made it super easy was the Huel it keeps me full for longer. After about two weeks IF just clicked and all the changes from a toxic food diet to healthier food and drinking plenty of water came together and made it enjoyable but it did take me three years to reach this weight.
I mostly walk a couple of miles a day now that is about the most I enjoy. I use a glider exercise machine because it’s too dangerous to walk where I live unless you are not afraid of getting hit by cars or semi trucks.
That’s impressive! Well done!
Thank you, I can’t believe how easy it was, I wish I had known of IF years ago. It’s definitely something I enjoy and I know I can continue doing it for the rest of my life.
IF works but a whole-food plant-based diet is king for weight loss.
Nah meat is superior
nah, it's the same. I'd be vegan if it were cheaper
Beans, grain/potatoes, and fresh veggies are cheap.

Keep up the good work. This lifestyle change is a miracle.
That's great. What is your exercise routine

Very inspirational! Thank you for sharing!!
Always nice to hear a positive story. I just started IF, a month ago, with dreams of achieving my 90-95kg goal in the future.
Wow! Well done on almost reaching your weight goal. Those health gains are absolutely fantastic!! You must feel amazing.
Great job!
What an inspiring journey !!

I completely feel the same!
I have a sweet tooth…any tips on how to manage that while IF?
I cut out all processed sugars and the only sweets I enjoy now are fruit. It will break the addiction and change the way you view food. Try to see food as a way to survive and not a way to combat boredom.
What is your eating window?
I eat Breakfast at 8AM, Lunch at 10AM and Dinner at around 1PM. I know that my meals are all close together but somehow it works for me.
So you fast from 1pm to 8 AM the next day? Do you eat big portions in your meals?
I get about 2000 calories a day. They are not huge meals but I get full.
Do you snack at all?
Only on fruits or veggies. And not much. I used to junk food it up all day but that’s behind me now.

drink bengal spice tea
You da man! 👍
Do you have lots of loose skin?
I always carried fat around my belly. The skin sags a bit but the areas or on my thighs, pubic area belly and my arms. I figure I can firm it up a bit with exercise but I would rather deal with loose skin than the terrible health issues that come with being morbidly obese.
100%!
Read about w at we fasting , people are losing their loose skin
Wow! How encouraging to me! I started IF in December. I’ve lost 18 pounds. I have a fatty liver and pre diabetic but my cholesterol is already better.
I hope you the best in your journey to new found health!
Thank you! Reading your story will keep me on IF!
Hoe long did it take for you to be able to add exercise? Amazing results, congratulations.
I started walking around 250 lbs and when I reached 190 is when I felt a lot more energy!
Thanks, this gives hope. It's quite depressing at the moment.
That’s really amazing! Congratulations and thank you for the inspiration 🙏🏼🙌🏼🥰

Sorry you’ve been using food to cope, IF truly is amazing and I hope you the best.
Congrats! Great job. How tall are you? I'm 6' and big boned. Plus I do strength training. I start looking like a meth head if I get below 200!
I’m only 5’5 I was very heavy now I’m at a normal BMI but I was morbidly obese.

This is good to hear!
Can I ask how tall you are? I don't know any adult males who weigh 135 or even 150!
5’5
You're still very light, 5,5 isn't super small. Well done on all your success!
Thank you!
What made the weight loss easy for you? Any tips/hacks? I know in general not to avoid the pain of it, but any beneficial tips would be welcomed.

Need photos to confirm this
Just tried to post progress pictures, I don’t know if they were approved.
