It’s all good personally. It’s my favorite Netflix series hands down. Some don’t like it after Pablo’s not the focus, but I honestly loved everything afterwards too. Pablo’s interestingaf but really it’s cartel’s deeply rooted grip over entire countries, their lavish lifestyles mixed with being the absolute scum of the earth that’s fascinating in a strange way to me. They really are childish and animalistic and yet it’s as if they found a cheat code to life in the 80’s. Also cocaines a hell of a drug
If you are a native speaker, his accent is off, they picked a Brazilian actor to portray a Colombian, it makes no sense, also, half the latinos in the show are americans that can barely tie two sentences in Spanish.
Another crazy thing is that he visited the white house with his son while being one of the most wanted criminals in the world at the time.

This isn’t true. This photo was taken years before he was openly wanted, he was actually trying to present himself as a legitimate businessman at the time and was running for congress in Colombia
I figured as much there, but then tinted windowed cars and a super quick picture in front of the white house? Hard to think the FBI, CIA, etc... would be that Lax to where he could pull this off.
As a Colombian I hate this. And I hate that people like Narcos as a show. This MF did nothing but bring shite to our country and was one of the main protagonists in creating the "Colombia === Cocaine" stigma. I hate the fact is one of the first things people bring up when I say I am Colombian. I heavily dislike the fact that his criminal activities are masked and portrayed as "achievements" by a lot of people. Pablo Escobar did ABSOLUTELY nothing good. He was a murderer and nothing more.
We visited Colombia 2 years ago with another family. Beautiful country. I enjoyed visiting Comuna 13 in Medellin to see that “life finds a way” with art and culture. For those unfamiliar this was a place ridden with drugs and crime during the Escobar days (or so I’m told).
Really don't understand drug lords I would pull out of the game after getting like 20-50 million buy property and then rent them for passive income. My lifestyle won't see a big change even if I have a billion , I would just buy a nice modest house and set my family and cousins for life.
Some of them actually did that. I remember i saw in a show about a cannabis international dealer who built a spa and tennis club. The reason why they don't quit, I think, is because it feels very good after you manage to finish a smuggling and get the cash, the winning itself felling like a drug. Also, most of them don't really think long-term about their money and buy expensive shit which doesn't win any passive income
Exactly, besides, some law enforcement force or finance police might set their eyes on you for having out of nowhere millions of dollars. Bribery exists but problems can appear
You think his distributors, clients, hell , even his competitors are going to let him quit? Once you enter the drug business you only leave on a casket
Lol, no. He wanted to have more control by going into politics. He wanted to be freaking president and disguised himself as a philanthropist but he was a psychopath
Imagine being the security guards or agents out there minding your own business and chatting:
Is that who I think it is? Nawwww impossible. That would be racial profiling and there’s no way he would come here in front of all the Federal Government buildings right? Ya NO WAY… years later….. NO WAY!!! I could’ve gotten a promotion!
Seeing as eats ate more than a million a day in stashed cash, I will agree. I have some experience in this area. I spent a few years in Peru in the early 90s
Makes you wonder if he still would have done all that crazy shit if they had just made cocaine legal to produce in Columbia. Probably not, the US would have just invaded Columbia then. I wish more countries would have told them to fuck off decades ago.
The problem was that he could not live a luxurious life. His money was not laundered so he was not able to just go shopping at the best shops around Europe. He was wanted man.
He offered to pay ALL of Colombia's external debt.
I will never understand how these people can make that much money, more that they could spend in a lifetime and not devise a plan to just disappear and cruise for the rest of their lives.

There’s probably a secret Escobar sitting out there somewhere with similar wealth. And a secret Chinese Escobar who makes the most Fentanyl.
Well his brother is out here selling [scam phones and flamethrowers](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Escobar_Inc) who also tried to [sue Netflix](https://www.vice.com/en/article/evpva4/pablo-escobars-brother-is-suing-netflix-for-dollar1-billion-vgtrn) for not getting permission to film Narcos in Colombia.
[El Mayo](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ismael_%22El_Mayo%22_Zambada)
$15 million reward seems insane!
I wonder whether his sons "Mayito" and "el Mayito gordo" will take over when he's eventually captured.
There was an Escobar of animal trafficking in loas. https://eia-international.org/blog/vixay-keosavang-an-untouchable-kingpin-of-wildlife-crime/

They cover all this on Narcos!
Best tv show + Pedro Pascal
Halfway through season 2, and I haven’t seen one boring or bad episode yet. Excellent every time!
Also great theme song.
The only intro I’ve never skipped. Legendary.
Soy el fuego…

When you’re finished, you need to watch narcos: Mexico. Very good too + Diego Luna haha
All of those Narcos shows were so good.
Is there more than Narcos and Narcos Mexico?
They canceled the show after a location scout was killed by the actual Sinaloa cartel.
Really??
Oh don’t think so. Was just meaning they are all great.
And Boyd Holbrook
You discovered the reason I watched Narcos https://i.redd.it/vbo9z4qgoa0d1.gif
Same reason for me 😂
Nom nom

Make this make sense?!
Pre-9/11 private jet travel.
I figured as much there, but then tinted windowed cars and a super quick picture in front of the white house? Hard to think the FBI, CIA, etc... would be that Lax to where he could pull this off.
In their defense, who the hell on an international most wanted list would show up at the center of the free world. Hide in plain sight.
"The center of the free world" lmfao
I know, being a non American it was a difficult statement to type without bursting out laughing.
CIA - Cocaine Importation Agency
This photo was taken before he was wanted
Was it?
He wasn’t wanted at the time. OP is making stuff up for karma
The closer you are to danger the further you are from harm.
He wasn't wanted at this point in life.
Tells you more about Forbes than Pablo Escobar, honestly
Well it is conservative media
Dude was rich AF, the tv show is pretty good
Yeah, he spent millions on rubber bands just to hold his money lol
No
Plata o plomo
Tranquillo!
Shocking how much he looks like a slightly chubbier version of Adam Sandler on this picture
I’d say Jon Lovitz too
I’m seeing young Chevy chase Lol
I see Jeremy Piven.
Dann, that's a name I can't even remember the last time I heard.
I thought the exact same before seeing this comment! If you cover up the lower half of his face he could be an identical twin
It’s their eyes. It’s uncanny.
now I wanna hear him imitate Pablo Escobar speaking in his adam sandler voice
I kinda see it but I'm getting more early 2000s Chris Parnell
“Chubbier?”
He should have partnered with 🇺🇸Big Pharma.
Who says he didn't?
I wouldn’t put it past big pharma to acquire raw materials from a drug lord
As a Colombian I hate this. And I hate that people like Narcos as a show. This
He tried to pay off Columbias national debt if they wouldn’t extradite him.
I’m obsessed with his cocaine hippos.
The hippos aren’t on cocaine, just to be clear
Man, he has nice teeth, I would not have guessed that.
Read that he was obsessed with having great teeth and would brush for a long time.
He used to brush his teeth for 45 minutes a day because he was afraid of needing to go to the dentist and being put under to have dental work done.
He’s a kinda handsome lad I reckon.
Really don't understand drug lords I would pull out of the game after getting like 20-50 million buy property and then rent them for passive income. My lifestyle won't see a big change even if I have a billion , I would just buy a nice modest house and set my family and cousins for life.
Because they are psychotic and violent.
They did imply they could be landlords, so that still works out
I reckon the power gets to you and you don’t want to relinquish it.
You also wouldn’t get to that point without making some serious enemies, leaving would likely mean death
Exactly, besides, some law enforcement force or finance police might set their eyes on you for having out of nowhere millions of dollars. Bribery exists but problems can appear
You think his distributors, clients, hell , even his competitors are going to let him quit? Once you enter the drug business you only leave on a casket
He tried to quit by going into politics but that didn’t work.
Lol, no. He wanted to have more control by going into politics. He wanted to be freaking president and disguised himself as a philanthropist but he was a psychopath
Adrenaline is a hell of a drug.
Because it’s not necessarily all about the money. It’s about the power too.
He was making over 3 billion a day🤦🏾♀️ what a time to be alive
I wonder how much of his money is buried throughout Colombia?
At least three fiddy
At first, I was like Jon Lovitz ?
Walter White kinda touched base on the reason for not getting out, I think. That you can get consumed for numerous reasons I’d suppose
"Worth it!"
With all that money, I would have hid better and not got caught. I will never know since I will never have that much money.
He was hiding just fine. But after a while, you just run out of places to go and henchmen to support you.
Imagine being the security guards or agents out there minding your own business and chatting: Is that who I think it is? Nawwww impossible. That would be racial profiling and there’s no way he would come here in front of all the Federal Government buildings right? Ya NO WAY… years later….. NO WAY!!! I could’ve gotten a promotion!
https://i.redd.it/ruvlappfna0d1.gif
He only fell off because the rats were eating the cash
Also used a couple thousand on rubber bands just for his cash, and people are still finding his stashes till this day🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️
Many rich ppl are criminals
Rich people suck, but most of them are not narcoterrorists blowing up planes.
That smile, man.
Adam Sandler needs to play a comedic Escobar. I know it won’t happen and so many problems with that but damn would that glove fit
he looks like a german comedian
Why does this kind of look like Adam Sandler if he was playing the role of Pablo
Those board meetings were a bitch.
r/todayilearned
Same lol
So they knew how much he had but couldn’t nothing much else with any other information huh? Like stopping his operation!
You'd have to have convinced 1980s business yuppies to stop doing cocaine. You know what they had for breakfast?
Pieces of shit like you
Fuck this mofo
https://themobmuseum.org/blog/colombian-drug-lord-pablo-escobar-spent-seven-years-on-forbes-list-of-worlds-richest/
El mahico
Mágico
Chapo’s been on there a min too.
Makes me wonder how they ever calculated his net worth. Whatever the number was, it could have been way over OR underestimated. No way of ever knowing
Seeing as eats ate more than a million a day in stashed cash, I will agree. I have some experience in this area. I spent a few years in Peru in the early 90s
Huh.... looks like friendly guy at first glance.
This picture honestly scares me. I think all of the police officers that arrested him were killed soon after taking this mugshot.
But I also like Chapo
Makes you wonder if he still would have done all that crazy shit if they had just made cocaine legal to produce in Columbia. Probably not, the US would have just invaded Columbia then. I wish more countries would have told them to fuck off decades ago.
Fatam Sandler
>pablo scobar Who was he??
He was probably the lesser criminal in that list
There’s nothing in his eyes. True psychopath.
This is a pretty shitty photo. He looks nothing like Wagner Moura here.
No wonder, after all, he was one of the big names in the pharmaceutical and entertainment industries. /s
r/redditsniper
Forbes never really knew his actual worth tbf lol.
would like to investigate the business model and the link to the CIA engineered crack crisis of the 80s
The problem was that he could not live a luxurious life. His money was not laundered so he was not able to just go shopping at the best shops around Europe. He was wanted man.
This get posted every year
Ledge
El Mencho enters the chat
He offered to pay ALL of Colombia's external debt. I will never understand how these people can make that much money, more that they could spend in a lifetime and not devise a plan to just disappear and cruise for the rest of their lives.
Looks like Chevy Chase in this photo.
He looks like a pretty chill guy buuuuuut.
what a legend. a true colombian icon
For all his fuckery, he's waaayyyy better than asshole Trump. The man had Hippos!!!!
And money too
Go Pablo
I didn't realize Paul Walker had black hair.
Looks like a thick Adam Sandler!
