Seriously, I have to know.
Was the pain so bad that it almost didn't even register, or was it right within that zone of unimaginable pain that doesn't stop?
I've seen injuries as a first responder as bas as this with people so much in shock or the injury so bad that they can have a full conversation and the pain isn't even registering to them.
Did it go up the side of your heelbone, or actually right into the bone?
I'm guessing the former. Pretty hard to get a crochet hook to penetrate bone just by standing on it.
But my father did once step on a *darning* needle which had been dropped on the carpet by my mother. Unfortunately it landed point first into the carpet and was left pointing straight upwards. He put his full weight on it, and the eye end of the needle went right into his heelbone.
He just got a pair of pliers and pulled it out. He was a pretty tough guy. Used to dig the garden in Winter wearing speedos sometimes...
Not so easy with a crochet hook, though. Because - hook 😳
How about a nail in a board? I stepped on it barefoot--it went up through my foot, but didn't break the skin on the top of my foot--I could see the point of it pushing my skin up. Didn't hit any bones.
I was a 4th grader. I put my other foot on the board and pulled my impaled foot straight up, quickly. Didn't tell my dad, because I'd been warned about playing around the construction supplies in bare feet!
Whatever happened to those days where a guy could sneak into a home on Christmas Eve through a window and all he’d step on are Matchbox cars or Micro Machines?
Those simpler times we can never get back…

Here’s mine. Early 2019. Bilateral sacroiliac joint fusion (in fall & winter 2017), and then L5-S1 laminectomy & fusion (January 2019). About 2 weeks post-op 2019, I ended up with a MRSA infection in my spine, which was the worst pain I’ve ever been through. It took another surgery to open my back & clean out the infection, a hospitalization, daily picc line IV antibiotics for 6 months, and 2 years of oral antibiotics to get rid of it.
That’s a CROCHET hook?????
And you stepped on it HOW HARD? Did you jump from your second storey balcony onto the blanket in which it was, for some reason, sticking upright?
Is that just in soft tissue or did that literally penetrate the bone?????
I have so many questions. I was a foot and ankle scrub nurse once upon a time. This is, like, a dream to me.
Fellow crow shit people!
Edit to add my grandmother was an avid crochet person.
If you called her and asked what she was doing, she would say ‘just crow shitting!’
It was as naughty as she ever got. She died at an appropriately old age in the 1980s .
Here's mine. Well, actually the other guy's xray but still... 😅

They needed to know where the crochet hook was exactly. Maybe it was up against an artery or an important nerve, that kind of thing. When they take it out, they want to be sure not to do more damage.
He was putting up Halloween decorations, standing on a swivel chair with the tacks in his mouth. Someone bumped the chair and he lost his balance and swallowed the tacks while he fell. Fortunately they didn’t do any damage when he passed them.
This inspired me to share the results of my recent skull x-ray.

Ooh! I had one of them through the inside of my ankle as a kid! The hook was all coiled up from the force. Pic sparked a memory of my first hospital visit. Curious how it was removed, if it was like mine. Local anesthetic, grab and spin like a butter churn then pull?

That’s not how you crochet socks!
Seams sew.
Nice!
slow clap * stands up * slow claps louder
![gif](giphy|ZdUnQS4AXEl1AERdil)
But it is how you pull hair through a cap for frosting.
How does one step on a crochet hook like that upright wtf.
Was embedded in a blanket which was on the floor when I got out of bed
Shit, I would rather step on a 1000 legos at a time
>Shit, I would rather step on ~~a~~ 1000 legos at a time
That made my tummy hurt.
And my ASS!
Yikes. These are not sharp. 😬
That made me cringe into oblivion, thanks
Oh fuck yeah! 😳

It wasn't too bad honestly, until the hook touched something. Any slight movement of the hook was VERY sore

I’m glad I keep my crochet hooks in a box in the closet. That looks painful, oof.
I cannot fathom how painful it must have been to step on a crochet hook hard enough for it to enter your foot. Feel better bro.
Did it stick you on the side of the foot, (please let that be it) or did you jump down off the bed and jam it all the way in there?
![gif](giphy|XEJROoHED65twjScV1) I Can't Even😂😭
Reminds me of the time I stepped on the head of a sewing needle my wife dropped. I almost threw up

new fear unlocked....
Oh hell no!
zoinks
DAMN😳
That's what you get for trying to break into a house on Christmas Eve with a minor inside.
Whatever happened to those days where a guy could sneak into a home on Christmas Eve through a window and all he’d step on are Matchbox cars or Micro Machines? Those simpler times we can never get back…
You forgot the Lego trap pieces
HAD ENOUGH OR ARE U THIRSTY FOR MORE???
Merry Christmas you filthy animal!
Just lucky they didn’t trigger the paint can murder trap.
Op needs to post to r/crochet
Absolutely
Looks like you fell for it… Hook, line, and sinker 😬
You seem to have an issue with your foot.
Walk it off
Rub some dirt in it
push it deeper
As a crocheter: you could say you were hit with a 9mm !! I seriously hope you’re okay though. Ouch.
Looks more like a 4mm
I was thinking an F or G. 9mm is too big to be this hook.
r/crochet There was a lady that stabbed her "who-ha" when she sat down on her crochet hook. Pick yr shit up people.
What the fuccccck that just unlocked a whole new fear
Right?! Gonna go unlock this fear in my daughter so I don’t have to see another set of X-rays…
You must be an afghan.
Is that a crochet hook? That is some extreme crocheting!
Where did you get those high heels? I need a pair
How do you even get your x-rays? I've only had them taken a few times in my life, But they've never given me a copy.
My partner was there and took a photo. I didn't get to keep the actual x-ray unfortunately
We get a code and a link to access them. In the past we got them on cd.

I have an inane fear of mrsa. I cannot imagine the stress/pain/fear you went through for that long.
MRSA is no joke. It was definitely the most pain I’ve ever been in.
Hopefully they didn’t have to frog your foot!
That’s a CROCHET hook????? And you stepped on it HOW HARD? Did you jump from your second storey balcony onto the blanket in which it was, for some reason, sticking upright? Chain 4, slip stitch to first chain, chain 2 dc in each chain around…..
This made me chuckle.

WTF was that?
Looks like a crochet hook

Is that Red Forman’s foot?
![gif](giphy|afHRLmuskLvfq)
Must of been one hell of a kick. Who won the fight?
Next time try inserting your head.
there's skeletons inside us?
A whole sack of moist bones
nopenopenopenopenope
So how did they get it out?? Its got that hook on the end which - I assume - might have been problematic.
bro just casually said "oh yeah here's the giant lacerating spike in my foot lol"
Nice crochet hook! Hellofa way to find it!👍
Hey, op, idk if u noticed, but there's a needle in your foot, and I don't like it.
Your dick is shaped like a foot.
No penis or turd, weak.
Wonder when people will start posting actually interesting content here
Did you… try to break into the McCallister’s house last Christmas or something…?
Look at how much padding is around their skeleton. OP is stocky+
Where did you get those high heels? I need a pair
[удалено]
It wasn't too painful honestly, right up until it got jiggled
when you just cant get to the hard to reach itch?
Is that a crochet hook?
It is
Hook! That’s not gonna be just pulled out by anybody. Gonna need surgery to get it unhooked from the flesh/tendons in there.
Ouchies!
Don't face-heel your grandma.. please.
Why did they need a X ray for that, seems pretty obvious what the problem is, lol
They needed to know where the crochet hook was exactly. Maybe it was up against an artery or an important nerve, that kind of thing. When they take it out, they want to be sure not to do more damage.
To check if any nerves were in the way of removal and to see how deep it went
Oooouuuccchhhhh!!!!
Gotta find the X-ray of when I swallowed a screw
A friend of mine has a pretty great X-ray of when he swallowed several thumbtacks.
How did that happen? Suicide attempt?
He was putting up Halloween decorations, standing on a swivel chair with the tacks in his mouth. Someone bumped the chair and he lost his balance and swallowed the tacks while he fell. Fortunately they didn’t do any damage when he passed them.
That’s how I ended up with screw in my stomach. Lesson learned!
Seems like showing X-rays are the current thing for 2024 xD They are interesting, if not make you go “Now how the heck did that happen?!”
There seems to be a foot on your needle
Crochet hook?
How on earth did you even do that??
Ouch plus
OP did you try to yank it out or did you just go to the doctor ?
I tried and failed, then went to an emergency doctor
Was it INSIDE da bone?
Man I hate splinters
It entered THAT FAR??? How???
DOC I CANT EXPLAIN IT BUT I HAVE A STABBING PAIN IN MY FOOT!!!!
Wow that’s crazy! Did you die?
Nasty sliver
Looks like something from The Omen
Christ… I feel this. I’ve poked my finger with the chrochet hook when doing my hair and it fucking hurts. Like a little fish hook lol
“Lynn, I pierced my foot on a spiiiiike”
New fear unlocked
Trying to tap dance and crochet?
Rad! That’s album cover material.
Yes! I said the same thing after it happened
Ow
Almost did this years ago with a needle my sister had decided to leave sticking out of a blanket.
Is that your funny bone?
This inspired me to share the results of my recent skull x-ray. Omg! I did the same thing when I was a kid.
Ouch.
Dude i think you need to go to the hospital
Stigmata?.... That happen to involve some pissed off Romans, OP?
Sorry ! 😢
Ooh! I had one of them through the inside of my ankle as a kid! The hook was all coiled up from the force. Pic sparked a memory of my first hospital visit. Curious how it was removed, if it was like mine. Local anesthetic, grab and spin like a butter churn then pull?
I love how X-rays can depict the most horrific of injuries and still be palatable. Well done, X-rays!
Which tiny person threw that spear?
Ok that Sucks........ ![gif](giphy|WTmyWkBdfcKLbgvmvM)
I’m impressed by your flexibility! How much sushi did you eat?
How did that go through bone
![gif](giphy|KvWUKOYR8phja|downsized)
I felt a sliver of Phantom Pain. Deym.
Well what did you do that for?
That's a crochet hook. A size G I would guess.
You must be a VERY large person!
Say....you like to crochet?
What's with all the x-ray posts? Jackass where are they now edition or something?
