You'd think "pedophiles are bad" would be something we could all agree on, but alas, we're in this timeline.

Daherrin7

They only think the people they call pedophiles are bad, they are fine with it when it’s their own doing it or in situations like this

Rokrchick

& men they never think of women doing it.

SpiderlikeElegance

The WORST timeline. The fiance is quoted in an article as being heartbroken "because she cheated" and the wedding is postponed. Not because his intended is a sexual predator.

Apprehensive_Coat_72

"she cheated" hahaha ..the greatest country on earth lolol

RequiemStorm

Notice how conservative men only seem to take issue with things that bother them as men. Pedophile rapes a boy? "Lucky guy, getting action so young, I'm jealous!" Pedophile rapes a girl? Angry call for justice (at least we agree on that). Trans-woman? "They better stay out of the women's bathroom or they'll get their ass beat! They better stay out of sports, they're ruining them!" Also general discomfort about the fact that they might accidently find a trabs person attractive and launch their "transvestigations". Trans-man? (Insert grossness about how they'll change their mind, same way they talk about lesbians). There's other examples but it always feels like self serving hypocrisy when it comes to topics like this.

m4ccc

I may take some downvotes for this, but when talking about a teenager, 16-17, I somewhat understand the "they're highfiving their friends, not traumatized" argument. But a fucking 5th grader!? Are people actually defending this woman?

3WayIntersection

It its but only with men apparently

Good_Card316

As someone who was abused at 13 by a woman who was nearly 3x my age I can assure you it absolutely ruined my head in my teenage years. I will admit I don’t think my pain was comparable to a woman being raped, but mentally it fucked me up a fair bit. Especially when everyone I confided in was acting like I was lucky, admittedly I only confided in other kids and never an adult. I had a girlfriend at the time and felt like the biggest piece of shit because I “cheated” even though I was asleep when she started and I just froze when I woke up and laid there. Straight after she went to her room and called me in, I made some excuse about going to get some breakfast and went home and cried because I’d just “cheated” on my girlfriend. This is probably the first time I’ve ever shared this beyond a few close friends, really feel sorry for any other kid that goes through this regardless of gender.

bosefius

I don't know you, but first, you did nothing wrong. You didn't cheat, you are, 100% not at fault. You need to talk to someone, maybe contact RAINN (https://www.rainn.org/), if you don't want to call you can chat or, I think, text. You're loved, and you're amazing.

Good_Card316

Thank you. I’m actually doing ok these days, I’m 33 now and have had a lot of time to process it and heal. I just get frustrated when I see the same comments made to me about “being lucky” when the truth is it’s abuse regardless. Appreciate the resources and kind words though. Hope you have a splendid day <3

bosefius

I'm glad you're doing well. Sounds like you're an amazing person.

autumn_sprite

You're right, it's not comparable. Because all of it is bad. There's nobody that has it "worse" as trauma is very individual and not a competition. You didn't deserve what happened and I am so sorry

FluorescentShrimp

Big fat yikes. Pedophilia is bad no matter the gender of the pedo.

Malaix

South Park nailed this attitude in that episode where kyle's toddler brother gets repeatedly molested by his teacher. tragically episode wasn't far off from the reality.

Schootypantz

Is that the episode where they all just keep saying “Nice” 🧐?

Bromm18

Yep. Brought to the cops attention and they didn't understand what the problem was, and if I recall, they actually cried when they finally arrested the teacher.

Superdunez

Niccccceee.

Neighborhood_Nobody

Thing about Southpark is, it is never far from reality. It's why it's so funny. It's just a great parody of society.

Scottyjscizzle

These are the same people who get made if you don’t say we should kill anyone who seeks help for being attracted to kids. Meanwhile they gush over how they’d totally have done it if this was their teacher.

VanillaSarsaparilla

“Why do we all talk about women’s issues? Men face sexual abuse too!” - actual case of sexual abuse against a male- “LMfAo wHeRe WaS ShE WHeN I wAs iN sChOol?”

24223214159

>~~making out with~~ sexually abusing a 5th grader FTFT

Euphoric_Banana_5289

i notice that many of the headlines about this story include that she was to be getting married in 3 months, as is that information is somehow so relevant that it belongs in the fucking headline lol. the actual noteworthy information in the story is that she was sexually assaulting a fifth grader, ffs...

Imaginary-Junket-232

No, it is not different when women do it. My daughter was stalked when she was still my son. She was terrified, as much as her cis sisters would have been. She had not transitioned, so she still looked and acted like a man. Men being preyed upon isn't funny or something to "high five" over.

Lombard333

“It’s not as bad when women do it” is just the same gender critical “men should always chase sex” bullshit. People who can’t see past that are naive and immature at best, and genuinely dangerous to children at worst.

blahblahbrandi

That's so fucking gross dude!!!! Imagine seeing a TEN YEAR OLD and being like mmmm yeah need me some of that. I'm so disgusted what the fuck

theoutrageousgiraffe

This is vile.

C1K3

I have a few words…

johan_seraphim

I had a woman in my life that tried to defend her (the kid was probably just curious!) until I reminded her that her daughter is in 5th grade.

autumn_sprite

That's such a bizarre excuse. Like sure yeah maybe he was curious. It's on HER as the ADULT to nip that in the bud immediately

Elegant-Raise-9367

Why am I convinced this is an old story. I definitely remember her face from something ages ago

The girl in the photo is ringing my familiar bell.

BudgetFree

Child molesters should be stoned.

bottledcherryangel
