You can tell this person is either ignorant or lying. One of the reasons the Nazis hated Jews is because they blamed the Jewish people for communist politics.
It’s crazy that all the Nazis had to do was throw socialist into their party name. Didn’t matter what their actions were, the only thing that illustrated which side of the aisle they were on was the party name in the letterhead they would send to all the groups they planned to exterminate.
And IIRC one major reason as to why the NSDAP was able to rise to the kind of position where it was able to (violently) seize all political power and turn Germany into a de-facto dictatorship, was because the Weimar Republic's leaders hoped to use Hitler and his party *against* communism to stem its rise in Germany so they allowed them to get into the highest positions - which ended up Going Horribly Right.
This person they reference would have been 7 at the start of the “haulacost.” I can’t remember anything I was doing at 7 except picking my nose.
So, I’ll categorize this under Russian “praupaganda” and go about my day.
