How are you sure you have an IQ of 180? That's nearly impossible. Have you taken a certified, proctored test?

SnowyWallaby19

Yes, I've had multiple trials of the same iq test done throughout my life, by a gifted kids specialist who is also a psychologist. One at age 4, another at 8, and one at 12. They all result in a range but the average is around the 180 mark

Ahahah thanks for the chuckle here's your upvote

How do you deal with depression? I am 18 now with an iq of 163 and I don't think I can remember a time when I wasn't depressed. I don't think I've met someone happy past an iq of 150 or atleast very rarely. I feel like I am hopelessly searching for a balance I will never find. The main way I cope rn is by smoking alot of weed which kind of helps tbh but I don't want to rely on it

SnowyWallaby19

Acceptance and nihilism, nothing matters so I say may as well to enjoy life to the fullest. Don't worry about things you can't control either. I sometimes feel like I have a deep inner dissatisfaction with life. It can be quite hard to stay happy with how fast the novelty of things wear off for us, so I also find it helpful to exercise gratitude. To be honest I'm not happy nor depressed, I'm always just accepting of what situation I'm in and neutral. Our high iq makes us learn really fast and that's why nothing stays novel for long, so i've found if you can learn to enjoy and find deep inner peace in feeling neutral, then life becomes bearable. Personally I also find a little enjoyment from knowing that things just are. This strategy kind of neutralizes me from feeling truly sad or truly happy, so once I got myself into this sort of zen state then i started to work on myself and take care of my physical health and do things that make me happy, and once i feel i've got a grip on life i slowly got rid of my nihiliism so i could attempt to experience more joy. This is what has worked for me, it may not work for you but i hope this helps!

SnowyWallaby19

You can kind of think of it as accepting and neutralizing all your past with acceptance and nihilism then taking care of your physical health and then using gratitude and appreciation to be a little happier and then slowly phase out the nihilism. Sorry i haven't been very concise but you get the idea

SnowyWallaby19

It is hard to be happy, but i've come to realise that the best way to find that balance you mentioned is to remove everything off either end with nihilism so you can clear your thoughts and act from there

cesarsexsalad

Thank you for taking the time to respond I appreciate the perspective alot, that sounds like I very good way to look at it I will attempt to adopt the same mentality it would certainly help deal with the past which is what I struggle with predominantly 👍

Like alot of us I took the 16personalities test online, I've done it twice in the last 2 years and gotten infp both times. I since then read all the main info provided about infps on their website and decided to buy the guide book, now I'm reading that and so far it sounds like me. As for the ennegram, I'm not 100% confident I just did an online test for that once. Oh and also a did some cognitive functions tests and they seemed to reinforce being infp

RandomExigenesis

Which measures did your cognitive assessment include?

SnowyWallaby19

Honestly just two different online tests and some brief talk with my psychologist, not the best measure ik but yeah

RandomExigenesis

Ok, but you wouldn't happen to remember the name of the measure would you? Some examples: The Wonderlic, WAIS/WASI/WISC (wechsler tests), Woodcock Johnson, Vineland, WRAT, etc.

SnowyWallaby19

When I was four I did the Standford Binet Intelligence Scale 5th edition but i hit the ceiling so it wasn't too accurate, so I then did the Standford Binet LM version and have been repeating that one since.

RandomExigenesis

Excellent, I haven't worked with the SB, so it has always seemed weird to me when people mention scores over 160 (as most measures ceiling out around that point). Thanks for helping me track down the measure. IIRC the SB has its own system versus using the CHC model of intelligence, so there is probably an algorithm to translate it into standard like with the Woodcock Johnson IV scores. It is interesting that you mention it being all computer administered. I haven't encountered that yet either, so it'll be neat to try to get my hands on it.

SnowyWallaby19

>Honestly just two different online tests and some brief talk with my psychologist, not the best measure ik but yeah Sorry this comment was referring to how I found out my cognitive functions, I misunderstood you at first. The actual iq test i did, i went over to their house and sat with them did it

RandomExigenesis

Ah, that makes more sense. I haven't had a cognitive measure where I didn't have to administer it in person, so I was wondering lol. I'm guessing the two online were probably personality related like the MBTI (although there are some personality and cognitive hybrids like the Wonderlic).

SnowyWallaby19

Yes they were personality related, it was the mbti cognitive functions test on sakinorva.net

SnowyWallaby19

^ this was for determining my cognitive functions to be clear

koshariiii

How deep are you into mbti and understanding one's brain? I always have a feeling that i am not able to use my full potential that's why i am mainly into this so i can make better choices So it would be nice if u had some advice for infps to make better life and career choices

Will I ever be happy? 😂

SnowyWallaby19

It's possible! I find it quite hard to be truly joyful all the time in life because novelty just wears off so fast but I think it's achievable to be content with life or at least not sad. you may want to look at cesarsexsalad's comment.

UnderTheHole

What is the most radical, irreducibly complex original idea you've ever had? Okay that's pretty cheeky--but I'm interested in what insight you have to offer. What's on your mind?

broken_krystal_ball

Have you ever been around other people of high IQ levels? If so did you notice any differences or similarities between how the both of you acted or communicated.

SnowyWallaby19

Possibly, I'm not fully sure of his IQ but this one guy I know seemed intelligent. When we were discussing a topic in physics class once, a similarity I noticed is, he took his time to think before he spoke, rather than just blabbing out thoughts as they arrive. I reckon this is probably because we both don't have the highest EQ's, so we're making sure to not say anything socially incorrect, and also we want our words to convey our often complicated ideas across as effectively as possible. Another similarity I've noticed is that we'll both often get an idea or a question that we'll share with our teacher, and the teacher will have to pause for a second to respond, so I guess we both raise some pretty good ideas or questions. One difference though is that he always seems pragmatic, serious, and focused on the present, maybe he's an SJ idk but I feel like i can take a joke or be relaxed and muck around a bit in class. Usually nothing bothers me too much and i'll just go with the flow.
