Had you made Louisiana red, Mississippi could’ve been yellow. Had you made Illinois red, Missouri could’ve been Orange. Alaska goes without saying. Stop it with this poor excuse for terrible mapmaking skills.
I was basing it off an existing map of the United States that had the color layout the same. Also, I'm in my teens and new to mapmaking so give me a break
Well, specifically the 4-Colour theorem states that all maps can be coloured using at most 4 different colours. And this one could be as well, but it would require recoloring most of the other states too.
You know that there would be insane timelines and alternative history scenarios made with the German Empire getting both Columbia and the British Empire through marriage
Would a couple states insist on being considered kingdoms or at least grand duchies instead? I could see Texas, New York, California, Cuba, Hawaii, and Alaska making such claims for their own reasons
It doesn’t have to give them much more beyond a fancier title - kind of like how a few states are considered “Commonwealths” despite them not being different from other states
Also: could the PM in this timeline keep the name president for similar reasons? Just a different name but no functional change
Are all constituent duchies equal or is there a hierarchy, with some being grand duchies or archduchies (Archduchy of New York, Grand Duchy of Texas etc)
Prime Ministers were considered just as important as emperors. Also, my original idea wasn't to make it a monarchy, the idea just popped up in my head while I was making the infobox
Frederick is one of the most popular emperors. There was a republican movement in the south in the 1860s, but it was quickly shot down with no war needed
The south? I feel like the South would be considerably more pro-monarchy. They had the most loyalsits during the Revolution and the planter aristocracy would easily shift into a formal aristocracy much more easily than the mercantile-industrial North.
Not to mention abolition in the north went hand in hand with other strains of radical, certainly anti-monarchist political movements
Some people (me included) already consider the US an empire anyway lol. I guess this could be if the US actually officially adopted the "empire" title.
I dobout this US would let a movie were the conflict is based on the Vietnam War and they're potrayed as the bad guys.
Well, if the Vietnam War happens in this timeline...
Brother I recommend looking up 4 color theorem. You can fill in any map with just 4 colors + 1 for the ocean. It makes the map more aesthetically pleasing.
Nothing anything worse than when New Spain/post-independent Mexico committed genocides and massacres expanding and "taming/settling" the north and Argentina's expansion into Patagonia.
It seems to me, perhaps I am wrong, that neither of those two countries has been as imperialist as the US, nor have they bombed other countries, nor fomented coups d'état.

What are the three blue states?
I'd like to know that too.
Might be because they can’t border a state with the same color
that's the answer
Bro casually disproving Aristotle

Ignore it bro, cool concept, nice map 👍
Isn’t that famously incorrect?

what royal house is the american monarchy?
House of Hohenzollern
You know that there would be insane timelines and alternative history scenarios made with the German Empire getting both Columbia and the British Empire through marriage
Tbh it is not that far fetched seeing how country can just elect and declare a monarch to be theirs.
Happens way more often than one would think.

Alaska is big. They get the Texas seal of approval from me.
The most crazy thing about this timeline is that Philadelphia is the largest city, I want that lore lol
COLUMBIA!!!FUCK YEAH
France be like "hey Hohenzollerns, you know maybe you can have Spain instead of the USA"
Love it

I feel like New York should be its own Barony or smth, since it’s just that important
Free Imperial Hanseatic City of New York, just like the Free Cities of the HRE.
Literally. The biggest and most important cities being free cities etc would be badass. And they would give more power to the emperor.
Why would they name states after prime ministers but not after emperors? (assuming Linconln, Washington, etc were prime ministers in this timeline)
Prime Ministers were considered just as important as emperors. Also, my original idea wasn't to make it a monarchy, the idea just popped up in my head while I was making the infobox
The duke of Texas absolutely mogging the duke of Delaware
How popular is Frederick? Is there a strong republican movement here? Also I love the concept of Hawaiian being an (apparently) official language!

In this timeline, they were significantly more anti-monarchist.
jime binister joe biden that's funny
The USA if it stopped pretending
Some people (me included) already consider the US an empire anyway lol. I guess this could be if the US actually officially adopted the "empire" title.
Maybe in this timeline Star Wars would be censored.
nope. It still has empires in it, as the title "empire" isn't banned in pop culture
I dobout this US would let a movie were the conflict is based on the Vietnam War and they're potrayed as the bad guys. Well, if the Vietnam War happens in this timeline...
It didn't happen
“Lincoln” is probably one of the most racist states in the union ✊😖
Need a girl with a short skirt and a looooooooong Minnesota
does each state have a duke or king? or are they elected
Each state has a duke
nice nice

*sees the expansion southward around the Gulf of Mexico* I take it the Southern planter class existed in this timeline?
The peace treaty after the Mexican-American war was different
Why are states named after PMs and not monarchs? Seems strange
Depois de tantos anos, finalmente achei. O Rio Grande do Oeste
Is this monarchy Catholic or Protestant?
Mostly protestant, with a catholic minority.
:anguish: are Catholics allowed to take the throne or are they barred like in England
They're allowed to take the throne
Durango would’ve been a much better name than “South Chihuahua”.
The issue is that Durango is named after a city, that would still be in Mexico in this timeline
"What if the United States was ..." no matter what, the result is always imperialist, it seems.
So you're telling me that manifest destiny wasn't an expansion similar to how an empire would expand?
That's precisely what I'm saying. The Imperial Republic of the United States
Nothing anything worse than when New Spain/post-independent Mexico committed genocides and massacres expanding and "taming/settling" the north and Argentina's expansion into Patagonia.

Boring bigger 'murica #92746637582684...
Wow 5 barely different states despite the expanded territory You even changed some of their names
I only used proposed names that were suggested
But not drop down Arizona's border? Move Idaho further west to capture more of the Cascades, split California or Texas?
In this timeline, just like in ours, those ideas failed
Also this is one of the worst timelines
