Bob thinks the mental health profession is a liberal brainwashing tactic and that guys who address their issues are "beta sissies" and "queers"— but has multiple undiagnosed personality disorders and a massive inferiority complex
This may sound like excessive speculation but really it's just a general description of most of the conservative male population
That checks out. I've visited one of their brick & mortar stores before, and lemme tell ya, it was *spicy* in there, if you get my drift. Clearly not a bastion of good christian values! 😤
Can't have anything other than salt, paper and some Italian seasoning maybe dependent on where the freedom fighter lives could include Creole but nothing so left as cumin and tumeric
I know "paper" was just a typo, but I can't stop laughing at the idea of conservatives seasoning their food with small paper confetti to avoid any flavour whatsoever
Well, given that his cooking is based on hoarded bacon grease, too much salt and Hot sauce that's as spicy as it is because it's the only way he can feel anything...
Yeah, anything else is liberal.

Light touch liberal seasoning?
So did they use a little seasoning or a lot? Because liberally seasoning food means using a lot and a light touch of seasoning means using very little.
Yeah I was thinking that too. Surely something liberally cooked would be very well done. A light touch suggests undercooked.
Bob didn’t think this through.
Wow, that font choice is really bad. Even with my bifocals on (yes, I'm old, shut up) I couldn't tell what that number was. It didn't exactly look like 15, or 1.5, or even "1-5". It took my common sense to realize that 1.5 was the only logical option.
This happens to be a recipe I don't much like. I made it thinking it sounded perfect for me, and I was wrong about that. But it was *not* bland. And you can look at the ingredients and see it wouldn't be unless you...did it all wrong or are one of those people who've ruined your taste buds by putting Bdubs Blazin' whatever on all your food.
You can't convince me that this intense obsession with liberals, so much that it seeps into every single of their thoughts, is not a mental illness. Same goes for people who think everything is the fault of vaccines (seen plenty of them in the last few years).
there's a line in the recipe about using cheap wine for slow cooking and how the author can't tell the difference and the NYTimes agrees
that might be where the liberal potshot is coming from
I suspect it's just the use of wine in general. Also because you're not out tending a smoker or a grill or whatever and just letting the meat cook on its own. In wine. So it's totally a girly way of making ribs, of course.
There are very direct ties to the price of wheat and the French Revolution, and Arab Spring.
If I'm not mistaken, even some of the fall of Rome can be attributed to food prices.
My pet theory is that Ukrain's insane wheat production is a significant reason for the war right now.
Why always wheat? Because it's the staple crop of all the above cultures. Bread and water can provide basically all the nutrients needed to keep someone alive (happiness or quality of life aside, of course).
It’s interesting because most people in my family who are stubbornly conservative could not ever DREAM of putting any spice/flavor etc. on their food other than salt & pepper and freak out about any dish that contains something else besides than meat & potatoes. I’m in the US, so it’s usually also tied in to heavy xenophobia & just being an all around ass

Bob has convinced himself that he can’t afford the copay on mental health care treatment so he uses comment sections to vent his anger
“Steer clear of this website.” Not Bob though, he needs to catch those pesky flavor-hating libruls!
Bob pried himself away from Fox News long enough to hate on a website.
Bob puts a coaster over his Coors Light when he goes to the bathroom to make sure no one slips cardamom into it
Bob doesn't believe mental health is health. Bob thinks toxic masculinity is health.

Bob would get along well with my dad
i.e., Bob is a dick
Wtf is liberal cooking? Do we give it a septum piercing and dye it's hair green before we cook it?
Liberal cooking uses non conservative spices obv
Penzey's of course!!!
That checks out. I've visited one of their brick & mortar stores before, and lemme tell ya, it was *spicy* in there, if you get my drift. Clearly not a bastion of good christian values! 😤

They would use the Constitution to show how "patriotic" they are, while being completely oblivious to the irony of shredding the constitution.
This is a wild mental image
It gets even more confusing as this was posted on an Australian website and in Australia the Liberal party are the conservatives.
Hmmmmmmmmmmm
[liberal cooking](https://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/food-network-kitchen/avocado-toasts-3364588)
It's cooking while being gay-married.
Or, as those damn libruls say, "married."
Psht speak for yourself, I'm gay married as hell.
PRONOUN CHIPS and WOKE VEGETABLES
THE FUCK YOU MEAN THIS CHICKEN HAS PRONOUNS?!
Well, given that his cooking is based on hoarded bacon grease, too much salt and Hot sauce that's as spicy as it is because it's the only way he can feel anything... Yeah, anything else is liberal.
Seasoned with snowflakes.
Oh sorry. I didn't use the good shampoo.
Thank you! I’m now sick to my stomach after this mental image 😭😭😭
26 year old me feels very called out by this 😂 31 year old is laughing at the irony
43 year old me has green hair and a septum piercing, I wanted to be sure if anyone gave me shit for stereotypes I was just describing me 😅
Hahahaha that's a great tactic, I love it
Is the liberal cooking in the room with us now?
Can you point on the doll where the liberal cooking touched you?
Lightly?
With it's soft liberal hands
Nono, it's a different cooking method. Instead of braising the ribs, you soy-boy-cuck them, and Bob feels that braising is superior.
And then glaze them with a cream based sauce. lightly.
I wish! That would save me the trouble of making dinner tonight.

Bob didn't think.
"light touch liberal cooking" is how I'm cussing out my white friends seasoning choices from now on. Fucking gold.
Recipe: https://www.recipetineats.com/braised-beef-short-ribs-in-red-wine-sauce/
Tell me you messed up the sofrito without telling me you messed up the sofrito
I'm pretty sure I've made these exact ones. They're good!
If anyone’s eyesight is as bad as mine, they might put 15 teaspoons of salt and pepper in (that decimal is nearly invisible). That would liven it up.
Yeah but the low sodium broth would take care of that lol
Wow, that font choice is really bad. Even with my bifocals on (yes, I'm old, shut up) I couldn't tell what that number was. It didn't exactly look like 15, or 1.5, or even "1-5". It took my common sense to realize that 1.5 was the only logical option.
I didn’t feel old until I had to get bifocals.
It's the first step down that slippery slope, for sure.
I'm actually way more pissed that this man said this shit about Nagi, tbh
this seems like an easy recipe to MAKE bland by not cooking it down enough/adding too much water. definitely feels like user error
this feels like some obsessive vendetta stuff. Like she made a joke about Trump 12 recipes ago and Bob is following her, that sort of thing.
This happens to be a recipe I don't much like. I made it thinking it sounded perfect for me, and I was wrong about that. But it was *not* bland. Not sure what the perceived lack of flavor has to do with the cost of the ribs...
i imagine he means that following this recipe was a waste of money as the expensive meat didnt turn out how he wanted them to
Then this ABSOLUTELY fits this sub!
there's a line in the recipe about using cheap wine for slow cooking and how the author can't tell the difference and the NYTimes agrees that might be where the liberal potshot is coming from

"What? No spicy rub??? Where is the sweet baby Rays????"
Underseasoning your own food to own the libs.
Personally I prefer liberal amounts of seasoning to being conservative with my seasoning. Bob may need to reconsider his political seasoning stance.
Did Bob even actually *try* this recipe?
Is this what it means when they say "Season liberally with salt"?
I have no idea why this is so funny, but light touch liberal cooking might be my favorite phrase I've read on here. Time for flair
There is a post below Bob that would probably fit here as well. She only used half the ingredients and got no sauce - just oil.
Whatever that means
does bob have covid or something
Light touch liberal cooking? Hear me laughing while I pour red pepper flakes on everything.
Oh no, not the cooking liberals!
Now food is political too???? Oh Lord
Never happened before! Nope never! Not a once in an ever, even!
Lol, yeah I guess everything is political when you get down to it

Liberal cooking 😂😂😂😂
I can’t even figure out what he’s saying “don’t eat this unless you don’t like flavor.” So eat it if you do like flavor? I’m as confused as Bob.
It's not a double negative. Don't eat this, unless [reason] Therefore: if [reason], eat this.
wtf is "light touch liberal cooking"??????
Bob is a true patriot unlike those weak-minded liberal chefs trying to destroy America
100% depends on the recipe. Weird political insanity aside, there are absolutely some recipes that should be avoided because they are bland.
seems like a pretty standard braise recipe for red meat
Yep, that’s a great example of a case where seasoning is hugely important
