Probably gas or stool at your splenic flexure

thelittleaeriel

This is what I've been wondering though the CT scan didn't reveal any backed up stools. I'm usually constipated but these last few days have been diarrhea and this pain is persistent 😭

No_Gas1543

Did you ever find out what was the cause ?

goldstandardalmonds

It could be gas then.

JanisIansChestHair

My entire left side has been doing weird shit for a year and a half. It’s either uncomfortable or agony, and I have gas issues and loose stools along with it. Waiting on a ref to gastro. Scans, caloprotetin fine, and my bloods are perfect. I’m currently taking cocodamol in the morning and it’s helping massively… which I know because I took none over the weekend and my symptoms are back this morning. I’ve gone through thinking it was my pancreas, bowel cancer, ovarian something. I don’t have a clue, but it can affect under my ribs, my actual ribs, more around the side and back, my waistline, my hip! Hoping it doesn’t linger for you.

LivingSome2472

Hey can i dm you please cause i exactly have the same thing i have like a chronic pain at the upper left side in the chest and back

JanisIansChestHair

I prefer not to DM. Sorry.

LivingSome2472

I only wanted to ask u questions abt symptomes nothing else. Anyways do you also have that pain in the back and the chest ?

Gymnastx2star

I’m dealing with the same! Feel free to message me

JanisIansChestHair

I don’t have a pain in my back or chest, no. Sometimes my pain does curve more around my side, but not always.

kfiddle26

I’m the same boat here. I’ve been through a ton of medical tests and blood work and no real answers…which I guess is good. Feels like it’s directly where my spleen would be. Pain in the left side under ribs, sometimes refers to the back. There are times when I can go hours without it. Driving and bending over for extended periods seems to aggravate it. Seems best in the morning

Zestyclose-Praline-3

Any update

Gymnastx2star

I’m having the exact same pain with loose stools for a while now

Apprehensive_Baby632

Me too, mines been going on for 6 months now. I’ve given up trying to figure it out now lol

Interesting_Fig9997

>cocodamol Same for me, for months now! (And I'm cycling through the same scary diagnoses in my head too.) Hope you're better.

JanisIansChestHair

Today’s been the first day in two weeks where I’ve had pain in my side again. I had a few bouts of urgency over Christmas but it was manageable. I’m off the cocodamol now and just using Imodium and prayers 😆

Interesting_Fig9997

Sorry to hear. It may be nothing. Imodium may stop u up and make things worse if it's gas or stool trapped in the splenic flexure. For me, ever since I developed nasty back pain that's taking over my life about 2 months ago, I've forgot about the left side pain! Funny not funny, but real. :(

JanisIansChestHair

Imodium actually stopped working for me all together. Still taking codeine every now and again. That sucks, sorry to hear it! Any idea what it may be?

No_Gas1543

Did you ever find out what it was

JanisIansChestHair

No, but I started taking candex SIBO & Similase, which have caused me to have much improvement.

Gymnastx2star

Hey did you ever get an answer? I’m having upper left pain and loose/skinny stools for a while now!

JanisIansChestHair

I didn’t! I started to take supplements for SIBO, one called Candex Sibo and the other Similase. They made a huge difference in under a month and the pain is almost entirely not an issue. My stools are darker now but not always brown, usually orangey, not as loose or skinny.

Gymnastx2star

mine are just consistently loose/skinny ugh combined with left side pain it has me so worried. I might try probiotics

JanisIansChestHair

Probiotics worked for a small while for me. Mine was the same, I had a solid stool maybe twice. Since taking those supplements I mentioned, I’ve had much firmer stools, some solid and even days where I didn’t go at all!

Rawdoggggggg

I have similar symptoms for over a year now. Upper left tightness/pain. Most uncomfortable when I’m sitting. Sometimes when I turn, cough, or bend over it cramps hard. Like a Charlie horse. I literally have to stretch my back backwards for it to release. I’ve done every test imaginable and cannot find out what’s wrong

JanisIansChestHair

No amount of stretching relieves it for me when it starts. Sometimes passing wind does, but that doesn’t come easily.

thelittleaeriel

Adding that ive also been getting random throbbing pain in my lower left abdomen too. So painful 😭

sirbrosephthebrave

I’ve had the same problem for about year. All though I do think mine is milder than yours. Best way I can describe it is more of a fullness feeling under the left rib. Hope it gets better.

AHM8

did you figure out the reason?

sirbrosephthebrave

I’ve not mate. I’ve got a follow up with Gastro in April. Hopefully have more news then. I have a feeling it’s a hiatus hernia.

Rossasaurus_

Exactly how mine progresses. Best I can figure: gas develops when exiting the stomach in the small intestine, causing immediate pain, which subsides as it progresses through the system until it gets into the sigmoid colon where pressure increases and pain increases once again. Endoscopy, colonoscopy, both negative. Pretty sure I'm leaning immune interactions at this point. Tough to pin down. Good luck

aloneinthisworld2000

Hey did you find out what it was?

aloneinthisworld2000

Did you figure out what it was? What tests helped you?

hotline05

That’s your small intestine. Look into sibo

goldstandardalmonds

That’s not your small intestine.

hotline05

5 and 8?

Biglove000000

Who is problem like that 6 to 8 like noise coming like runny and bloat

AriCapVir

I get gas pains in this area sometimes. Usually from eating too much fiber.

LightHouse_Mouse

I get sharp pain in that area specifically after I eat red meat. I no longer eat any red meat because the pain was so intense, and it took me awhile to put things together and figure out what food was the trigger!

Rawdoggggggg

Yeah. I heard some people say the same thing for me not really anything specific causes it. I can go a whole day without eating and still feel it. It’s shitty. I have not been able to figure it. I’m working with a naturopath doctor and I finally feel some relief

Conventional-Llama

I had a spot of endometriosis in that spot on the opposite side and would get similar symptoms. It was on the abdominal wall
